auto-focus

Is it true that rebel SXi is having a problem on auto-focus ? since i'm planning to buy one but after reading some comments, I might change my mind..
There have been several reviews and forums describing a focus issue on the XSi rebel. There has been several workarounds suggested. Haven't seen any official statement that there is actually a problem

how do you tell a class 2 sd card from a class 6

If it is one of the newer SD cards it should have a symbol that looks like a capitol "C" with a number inside it. This is the class rating.
If it is one of the older types it might have the mbs (megabytes per second) speed on it. The faster one would be the higher class.

what is the difference between micro SD and micro M2

MicroSD is really just a SD memory stick in extremely small size.
M2 is a joint project between Sony and Sandisk that is a micro version of a Somy Memory Stick Pro Duo. The M2 versions have a max capacity of 32gb and also may not be compatible with some Sony equipment even with a adapter.
MicroSD and M2 are different types of memory though they look similar.

Flash Memory Camcorders

Do all flash memory camcorders not come with a memory card?

I want to know about memory cards with flash memory camcorders
Generally they do not come with a memory card. That has to be added.
If one does include a card in the packaging it is usually a very small memory size.

Does Canon SD1400 use H.264 compressed video?

Hi,

Can anyone confirm that the Canon PowerShot SD1400 indeed uses MPEG 4/H.264 for encoding/compressing the HD video one takes with the camera?

Thanks!
All sources I checked states that it does use H.264 compression in mov file.

Why do shades of blue become exaggerated in my digital photos?

I have a 5 year old, 5 Megapixel Kodak camera which has been great in every way except that it seems to exaggerate any color in the blue range. (A violet blue becomes a true blue, a normal blue becomes "electric" blue) Recently I purchased another Kodak camera (950Z) and it seems to have the same problem. Is this a Kodak "chip" or processor issue? I don't think it's caused by the computer I'm using, (which has remained the same for both cameras), because a friend of mine with the same laptop model has accurate color rendition with his non-Kodak camera. I am interested in color accuracy, since color is an important part of my job, and accurate color rendition is essential in the pictures I take. I have never seen this subject addressed anywhere, but I am wondering if another manufacturer such as Canon would use a different processor, or whatever you would call the relevant component? I am still within the return period for the new camera and really need something that produces more accurate color. Suggestions?
It could be a processing issue. First try changing the White Balance settings. If it does have a manual WB ability try setting the WB yourself and see is the color is more satisfactory.
If color accuracy is important you might want to step up to a Digital-SLR. The larger sensor will give you much better color and clarity with less chance of color bleed or tinting.

Have you experienced this weird phenomenon from a Samsung?

For no reasons, my 4-year old 32" LCD HDTV acted strangely lately and still doing it. When the TV is first turned on, there will be vertical color lines like an image is messed up on the screen. Then, 2 -5 seconds later, the TV will be turned off by itself. 3-5 seconds later, it will turn on by itself. This will repeat 5 - 7 times (on and off by itself) before settling down. The TV will then be back to normal. This happens every time the TV is turned on.

I am obviously very disappointed because I really thought Samsung produce good quality HDTV's. I am concerned that this is a major problem and not something repairable.
This might be a Power Module going bad. Best to take it to your nearest BestBuy for servicing.
The Module might be producing low power which could cause the image issue. Low power may damage other components over time.
