Wideangle Lens for FS 100 Camcorder

What wideangle lens is compatible with the Canon FS 100 camcorder? Can this lens be installed/removed quickly or will it have to be permanently installed (i.e. glued)?
You can get a Wide Angel Adapter to put on the lens. Check the thread size of the lens, usually stamped on the edge of the lens as a ## with a circle and a / through it. Get that size adapter and screw it on the lens.
The adapter can be added and removed as needed.

how to use a carmcorder with no light?

would like to know how to record at nightime or low light if my new sony camcorder doesn't have a light?
could u please explain it?
thank you .
Depending on the model of the camcorder it should have a menu setting for "nightshot". When in this mode the camera uses a infrared light, not visible to the naked eye, but visible to the sensor to illuminate the area.
Some camcorders have a switch on the side to turn on nightshot.

I want to buy a new video camcorder that can connect to a mac with a firewire. Which ones have that connectivity?

Firewire is the IEEE 1394 and sometimes called an iLink connection. Mostly found on miniDV camcorders. Hard drive, Memory and DvD based camcorders usually use USB connection.

SDHC vs. SD card compatability?

My computer and printer card readers will not read a new 4GB SDHC card, but will read a 2GB SD card. Does this mean my hardware is not compatible with a SDHC card or with a card over 2GB, or both?
This would generally indicate that this reader/printer does not support SDHC. SD memory only goes up to 2gb. If it is a multi-card reader it will most likely read other cards such as CF that are over 2gb but not SDHC.

what is AVI?

AVI is Audio Video Interleave. This is a file format developed by Microsoft to handle capturing and playback of video formats. Although a file might have an .AVI extension it might still require a specific codec to play on a Windows based media player.

Which UV lenses for Nikon D3000?

Which UV lenses are best for Nikon D3000? Should I put them on all of the time or only when i'm outside to protect from dirt and sun?
Any good quality UV filter that fits the thread size is fine. The size of the thread is written on the lens (usually next to the glass on the inner ring) as a ## next to a circle with a / through it.
UV filters affect the image almost negligibly but should be put on and forgotten about and never taken off again except for cleaning. It is one of the best protection between the glass of your lens and the harshness of the out side world.
Try and get one for everyone of your lenes.
Dropping your lens with a UV filter could mean the difference between replacing a $11 peace of glass or a lens worth hundreds of dollars.

what is it called ? the time lapse between when i press the shutter and the actual picture is captured

Shutter speed is how fast the shutter "snaps"..such as 1/60 which is one 60th of a second or 1/500 which is one 500th of a second. This refers to how long the shutter stays open to expose the film or sensor.
I believe that what you are referring to is what is called "shutter lag".
It is the amount of time between when the shutter button is pushed, the camera sets the iris, speed of ISO, shutter speed, White Balance and then.....takes the picture(finally).

Choosing a DSLR

I utilize PhotoShop with the smaller digital we have but I'd like to take a step up and plan to go to photo school in the spring for personal use and not for professional use. I want a fast camera to use for movement and also good stills. What's the least I can expect to pay please?
Canon and Nikon both have entry level D-SLR cameras that capture motion in movie mode. The D5000 for Nikon and the T1i for Canon.
You can get in more economically without movie mode by going with Canon XS, Nikon D40 and D3000, and Sony a230.

Products from my answer
Canon - EOS Digital Rebel XS 10.1-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera - Black

Nikon - 10.2-Megapixel D3000 Digital SLR Camera - Black

Sony - Alpha 10.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera - Black
