Is there a product that you can hook up to a Mac computer to transfer a movie from a DV tape to my Mac computer, my camera does not allow this option?

Pinnacle Systems makes the Dazzle for PC and the "Video Capture for MAC". To find out more about the MAC version follow this link: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSi...

Film speed

Will a digital camera using ISO speed 1600 film be able to take satisfactory daylight pictures?
By increasing the ISO to 1600 you will be able to use higher shutter speeds in daylight. You will loose considerable detail and add some noise. If your looking to freeze action or get less blur for long zoom try 400-800 ISO. The noise will be less.

Wide-lens digital camera?

I need a wide lens camera for taking indoor home photos for real estate. any good recommendations for a digital camera with decent quality that won;t break the bank?
There a many compact cameras that have a wide angle type lens built in to give a wider field of view. It is generally marked on the box or in the specification on the site. You could add more field to an existing lens with a wide angle adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...

Which non SLR camera has a good easy to use View finder

For compact cameras take a look at Canon A1000IS and A1100IS to start with. For more of a feel of a SLR with some of the features but not the price look at Advanced Digital Cameras like
Nikon P90 ,Canon SX10 IS and the Sony DSC-HX1.

Need a camera that take great pictures of gastronomy plates, with low light but great detalis

Need a camera not too big, for gastronomy photos, with great details and not much light for the pictures, need to unfocused the background. What to buy?
It would be helpful to see an example of the type of photo you are wanting to take.
If low light is an issue I would suggest a D-SLR. The larger sensor and larger lenses gather more light and the ability to increase the ISO sensitivity will work well in low light. Some form of image stabilization either on the lens or body will also be a good idea.
It would be best to get a lens with a f1.4 or f1.7 rating. This will help give you that soft focus background you are looking for.
Canon, Nikon and Sony all have great entry level D-SLR cameras that will do the job. Also look for a 20mm or 50mm, f1.4 or f1.7 lens.

Where can I get USB software for my Sony digital camcorder to connect camera to pc and download video? I have the cable, but no software.

Depending on the Camcorder and the operating system you are using on your computer you should be able to capture the video directly.
If you are in need of the driver for your Camcorder try here: http://esupport.sony.com/perl/selec...
...and look for your model.

My laptop will not recognize my JVC camcorder to import video.

I have a JVC HDD Everio GZ-MG130U and a HP laptop with Visa. When I connected my camcorder to my laptop I got the following error message: "Import video could not find a compatible digital video device. Verify that the digital video device is properly connected and turned on."
I have my camcorder connected to my laptop via USB port.
From what I can find about this issue is that it might need a Firmware update on the Camcorder. You can try following this link: http://support.jvc.com/consumer/sup...
...or try contacting JVC at one of their support numbers for a solution.

how do you get pictures off of a sony handycam that has a little dvd disk instead of a memory card?

The still images should be stored in a separate fold from the video on the DvD. You may have to finalize the disk before it will open on any other device other than the camcorder.

Looking to buy a camera that will take good pictures at the race track, needs to take pictures fast

You will probably find a compact camera to be too limited for this kind of photography. The digital zoom would give you a jagged picture and the slowness of the camera in general will miss a lot of shots.
For this kind of work you will need a camera with a good optical zoom lens and some form of image stabilization, either in the lens or body of the camera. Also a camera that is fast at getting it's focus and other settings or can be set to full manual so it does not reset itself for each shot.
A D-SLR would be best for this kind of shooting. A 70-300mm lens would probably be good for the zoom. Both Nikon and Canon have 70-300mm IS Lenses (Image Stabilized) and Sony D-SLR cameras have Image Stabilization (Steady Shot) built into the body so any lens will be stabilized.
Stop by your nearest BestBuy and speak to an associate in the Camera Dept. They will help you find a D-SLR that will meet all your needs.
