I easily mounted a 39-inch TV and, later, a 55-inch with this Rocketfish. Instructions are clear, and the package includes mounting screws in all sizes. So I had the right size for each TV without a trip to the hardware store. It was a bit of challenge fitting screws under the tilt adjustment knob, where they needed to be for the 55-incher. Luckily, the M8 by 21mm screws that Samsung requires were just short enough to work. The rails that let me slide the TV left and right meant I could center it perfectly over a cabinet. Other features I especially like include the tilt function that compensates for bright morning sun. I would buy this mount again.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Our household is well pleased with our new Samsung TU8000. Spending a little extra for series 8 features including the voice-activated One Remote and Bluetooth was worth it. We are able to adjust the picture and sound exactly as we like it. Setup with on-screen instructions was easy, even for our mature Baby Boomer brains. The remote is intuitive enough to guide us through its functions, although we still have use other remotes to set up cable recordings and control volume on external speakers. We don't use the Smart Things app for iPhones because our phones already control the TV as much as we need. We also were put off by the pay subscription for anything but basic features. We now have access to more entertainment than we will ever watch. Altogether, we're happy.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Does this TV automatically select the strongest wi-fi signal (2.4gHz or 5gHz)? As I understand things, my wi-fi-router and extender operate simultaneously with both, and 5gHz is best for streaming video, etc.

Has anyone been able to use the TV's One Remote to schedule and view recordings through a cable box? Is it even possible? My cable box is an Atlas URC1056B04, rented through WOW/Knology.

When mounted on wall does one of the HDMI connections become unusable because of the location of the port? I had read this somewhere and needed to confirm if that is the case. Thank you.

Best Answer

One of the HDMI ports faces toward the back, rather than the side like the other two ports. I wouldn't say it is unusable, but a connection to it can be awkward if you're wall-mounting. Plugging in the cable before you attach the TV to the mount might help. You can see all three HDMI ports in the attached photo. The third port is between the side-facing ports two and the composite connectors, just above the optical input.

If I want to use a Keyboard and mouse how would I connect them? Via Bluetooth directly or USB Bluetooth device plugged into the TV?

It seems to me there would be a direct connection. I don't have a Bluetooth keyboard, but my Bluetooth earbuds and speakers connect directly. Maybe this link will help. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00085243/

This TV will be viewed from a large room. How is the TV for some angle viewing? I bought a 40" Vizio for a spare bedroom. Awesome straight on however on an angle the color and vibrancy drops way off. Not sure how this TV will be.

I've noticed that sharpness and color depth fade a bit when I watch from about a 25-30 degree angle. But it's not really bothersome, at least for me.

How is the outdoor visibility when it’s really sunny outside? What is the temperature operating range? I would put and leave the tv outside from Spring to summer & don’t want to pay for the higher dollar outdoor TVs

You might want to check the Expert Reviews on the product page, as well as others. Several reviews have said this screen has high contrast and deep blacks, so it works better in dark conditions than in bright. It works well enough in my fairly bright den, but I've never tried it in direct Florida sunshine
