I easily mounted a 39-inch TV and, later, a 55-inch with this Rocketfish. Instructions are clear, and the package includes mounting screws in all sizes. So I had the right size for each TV without a trip to the hardware store. It was a bit of challenge fitting screws under the tilt adjustment knob, where they needed to be for the 55-incher. Luckily, the M8 by 21mm screws that Samsung requires were just short enough to work. The rails that let me slide the TV left and right meant I could center it perfectly over a cabinet. Other features I especially like include the tilt function that compensates for bright morning sun. I would buy this mount again.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Our household is well pleased with our new Samsung TU8000. Spending a little extra for series 8 features including the voice-activated One Remote and Bluetooth was worth it. We are able to adjust the picture and sound exactly as we like it. Setup with on-screen instructions was easy, even for our mature Baby Boomer brains. The remote is intuitive enough to guide us through its functions, although we still have use other remotes to set up cable recordings and control volume on external speakers. We don't use the Smart Things app for iPhones because our phones already control the TV as much as we need. We also were put off by the pay subscription for anything but basic features. We now have access to more entertainment than we will ever watch. Altogether, we're happy.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Does this TV automatically select the strongest wi-fi signal (2.4gHz or 5gHz)? As I understand things, my wi-fi-router and extender operate simultaneously with both, and 5gHz is best for streaming video, etc.

Has anyone been able to use the TV's One Remote to schedule and view recordings through a cable box? Is it even possible? My cable box is an Atlas URC1056B04, rented through WOW/Knology.

There might be a setting for 5G under Network on the TV, or under Client for your router or Wi-Fi extender. The app for my extender lists connections for both 2.4G and 5G, and Samsung TV is one of them.

Does this tv need a soundbar?

You might want to look for a soundbar with HDMI inputs, rather than just optical. That allows you to use the TV's eARC output port. If I understand correctly, this gives you enhanced sound quality and lets you use the TV remote to control the soundbar.

I was able to find the HBO Max app through a search on my TV. I have a 55-inch series 8, UN55TU8000FXZA, and I went to the search function on the strip across the bottom of the screen.

Can this 8 series set be connected to an old stereo with RCA jacks ?

The TV has ports for RCA-style connectors. I have them connected for input from my DVD player, so it plays through the TV. I'm not sure, though, about output from the TV to play through a stereo amplifier or receiver. I think I've connected an older stereo to an older TV that way before, using just the red and white RCA jacks for audio. But I might be remembering wrongly. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

How to set up a DVD’s Player

I have red, white, and yellow RCA-style connectors going from my DVD to the audio and video ports of the same colors on the TV. Red and white for audio, yellow for video. I hope that helps you.

What is the inches between screw holes for mounting bracket from top to bottom In inches for a TU700 and a TU8000

Samsung's specs say VESA measurements for both the 7000 and 8000 are 200mm x 200mm. So measurements between horizontal and vertical holes would be 7.87 inches, or about 7 and 7/8. That sounds right , if my memory of mounting my 8000 hasn't tricked me. I'll paste a link to 8000 specs. Does this TV need a sound bar? If yes, can I use my current Sony 2.1 Channel Sound Bar purchased at Best Buy in 2016? Legs of this TV are longer than Sony Sound Bar....will it fit under TV with legs extending beyond?

If I'm looking at the right Sony soundbar at Best Buy (model HTS200F), the width is 23 inches and the depth is 3.8 inches. So it seems it would fit in the TV stand width (37.5 inches) and depth (9.9 inches). The Sony I found has an optical input, which would match this TV's optical output. But it has no HDMI input. So you wouldn't be able to use the TV's eARC HDMI output, which as I understand allows enhanced audio and lets you control the soundbar with the TV remote. I have the same situation with my external speakers. It's not a big deal for me. But it's something to consider.
