Simply the Best Alarm System

Simply put… it’s a winner for me in 2023! I’ve had systems that went out of business and my equipment was no longer supported. This is my second Simplisafe system and I’m super impressed on how subtle it is when it comes to be incorporated into my home and how it has evolved.
My favorite features are the slim keypad, the key ring remotes to set the alarm from my pocket, and the sensors!
The camera was a little larger than I expected and I sort of would have preferred something more slim and discrete. However it does have a nice sleek design element so it’s not as bad as I thought.
My only concern so far is that I had my previous system wired to be discrete so you couldn’t tell there were sensors. I was hoping to mirror that with my new system.
It’s going to take some practice and retrofitting some windows but I’m very happy overall with my system.
If you’re looking for a system that won’t break the bank but keep you up to date on monitoring your place then this is the system for you.
I suggested it to a friend and he has already set his up for his 2500 square foot home. He said he’s amazed at how fast and easy it was to set up. We both agreed we want to expand with other accessories as soon as we can.

Exceptional Sound For All Music

I am absolutely enjoying the comfortable earbuds by Technics. The sound is actually exceptional for two main reasons: 1. Sound profiles that you can tailor 2. The comfortable ear tips make long lasting music streaming easy.
Set up is a breeze and rough of the box you are set to go within a few minutes. I opted for the larger ear tips which made the music more full in my ears. For years I thought the smaller a tip meant better sound.
The charging case and earbuds have a beautiful matte design with gunmetal colored accents. The charging port is a USB-C port which I am excited to see. I’ve had a few sets of headphones/earbuds and I’m glad to see Technics adopted the technology.
The Technics application is pretty cool. It lets you choose sound profiles based on your music and it shows you the health of each of the earbuds and case. You can also track the device in case it is misplaced which is spot on and an awesome surprise to find and have. I usually leave them in my gym bag or work bag so the GPS feature was actually helpful.
I played a few tracks to test out the earbuds. First I played Taylor Swift’s “High Infidelity” and I was able to hear the synth instrument, then Taylor’s voice comes in… however it’s the bass drum that astonished me. The bass pulsed and it didn’t affect the quality of the track or compromise the earbuds by rattling the internal parts! Two thirds of the way into the track I switched the profile to Dynamic and an acoustic guitar’s strings came into range!
I’m amazed how far audio technology has come. Go get these and thank me later!

I have this tone that I like to keep in my house that borders whimsy but not theatrical. The Ryse Smart Shade toes that line perfectly. If you remember theatre shows as a young person or on Broadway you’ll notice that the Ryse raises the shades smoothly. There’s no jerk reaction or hesitance when the shades go up and down.
I mostly wanted this for my office because three of the walls are covered in windows. During peak Texas summer the office feels hot and humid. I love that I can automate the shade to set itself down mid morning has the sun hits the high sky and rise as the sun begins to set.
Setup was fairly simple and as intimidating as inserting the cord could be. It’s not! You’ll pop open the face plate, tip in the beaded cord, replace the plate and start to set the automation.
The one downside for me was that in 2023 there isn’t a way to use an actual rope cord with the Ryse. The versatility there would literally be life changing in my home.
The Ryse has been with me a little under a week and it’s a wow factor. I certainly love how interactive and easy it is to use.
The design is well thought out as well. It isn’t clunky, it’s probably the size of two candy bars, the color is a versatile white, the LED status light is a beautiful blue hue, and it’s quiet. If I could outfit my whole home I would, especially during summer when I want to keep the heat out.

Outsizes & Stands Out From The Rest

As the title suggests the Dyson Outsize is ahead of the competition from all aspects. I’ve had different types of stick vacuums over the years but my Dysons have always outlasted the rest!
I’m most excited for the larger than ever canister that the Outsize has compared to my previous cordless vacuums. I’ve got a multi-level home and different floor types. When I realized the Outsize senses different floor types I myself was floored (pun intended).
The features that are subtle but meaningful are outstanding. The design is true to Dyson’s aesthetic with simple chrome finishes, light color way, and easy to set up accessories.
Speaking of extras, I’m so glad they revamped the small roller attachment. Honestly, it’s the reason I can’t have any other vacuum because it is so versatile. With two bulldog pups there’s hair everywhere from our homes to our cars. However with the swift touch up, the Outsize tidied up our areas and we are ready for company. I’ve already done all of our baseboards and they look so clean!
I suffer from allergies of all types and my Dyson is so helpful in picking up dust bunnies and all the extra small stuff on the floors and carpets. It’s summer and dusty where I live so we are going to be using the Outsize quite a bit this year.
A small note for newbies to Dyson. Remember it isn’t intended to replace your main vacuum and the battery is strong but won’t last you for hours. It’s a great compliment to your main cleaning regime.

Dell has historically been a great company for me when I need a computer. Now the Inspiron has some
features that will knock your socks off like the hidden camera that will pop up with one small push. The amazing part of this PC is that it is an all in one computer built within the display.

Right out of the box it took me about two minutes to set up and get going. You’ll get the display, keyboard, mouse, and power cord. So if you’re looking for simple and a computer that will fit in a tight space this is it.
The touch screen is very intuitive and easy to use, and the speaker system was okay.
In comparison to other PCs out there this one is ideal for your new student heading to college and doesn’t have much space in their living area. Or perhaps you want something sleek and minimal (which is me). I love that there is not a lot of fuss and wires hanging from the PC.
An overall well rounded computer for me, it’s not going to be the PC I use for gaming, but it for sure is the one I’ll use in my office to save space on my already crowded desk. A small side note, I’ll probably upgrade the mouse and keyboard for aesthetics because the ones it comes with are very simple.

The ROG Ally: Years Ahead

The ROG Ally is or seems to be light years ahead of any handheld console that I have seen. I own competitor consoles and they have been lack luster. The ROG has solved an age old problem, “How do I came at high fidelity while preserving some sharp graphics, without burning up my system and allowing it to heat up so quick?”
The solution is that the Ally has dual fans, its light, the new AMD Ryzen Z1 should be used for more consoles if these results can be yielded again.
The design is immaculate and everything I wanted. The bright white with the color changing joysticks, the nice black accents and the holographic color stripe on the back is a sweet little pop of color.
The image quality and sound again are years ahead. I literally have a laptop that boasts these expensive speakers but the company put them in an awkward spot under the device. The Asus + Ally team really understood the mobile gaming experience and added Dolby Atmos with sound sensing technology so it adapts to your environment.
The screen colors are amazing, the crisp picture has captivated me on Fortnite and it being a new season I can’t put the Ally down. I have a standard gaming console and now the Ally’s graphics and processor react so much better than my home console it is taking some time to adjust to how quick I can get an elimination! At first I was in awe because it didn’t make sense. Now I am just kicking butt and getting those wins!
Tonight I played for two hours and the device never got hot, as soon as the battery was depleted I plugged it in and it went into/detected that it could go to max power. So rest assured it can sense and change gaming modes as needed.
The Armoury Crate makes it easy to play games from all sorts of platforms using Windows 11 while the competitors try to figure out how to play their own games on their systems.
I’ve been an Asus fan for sometime and now I can totally see my family jumping in on the fun.
If you’re into gaming, enjoy cutting edge tech, and want to expand how you can play games, then the ROG Ally is for you!

Not Your Grandpa’s Watch! It’s for everyone!

The Citizen CZ is a switch up from my previous smart watch. I opted for the Citizen CZ because I wanted something in assuming with all the benefits of the smartwatches with color watch faces. This one can be tailored with included faces and you can design your own.
With the 90’s trends circling back I used to love my black and grey digital watch faces. That’s what you get here but they are greatly enhanced with smart features like: music, text, heart monitoring, and more.
My favorite part of the watch is that this is the first watch in over a decade that I can comfortably wear to sleep. I haven’t been able to do so with my previous watch.
Sleep is super important to your health during the day. I haven’t been sleeping well so I tried the watch and I never felt it during my sleep. I am loving the break down of my sleep patterns and when I’m having my peak sleep cycles.
It’s helping me more conscious decision of when to jump in bed and how to avoid tv.
The design is pretty sharp and jazzed up just enough to add flare to my work suit with my white button up and tie. It is also not a distraction like other smart watches that buzz all day. It keeps life simple.
Overall a great option for anyone wanting a smart watch with bells, whistles, and awesome features.
I’m still learning more about the AI forecasting and I can tell I’m really going to love this on my runs. The silicone band is by far the most comfortable watch band I’ve ever had.
A side note: I love watches and I have over 20 of them. None are super luxurious but this one has me stuffing and storing my other watches away for now.

ASUS, More Like Ace for Us!

The Strix laptop is awesome and to kick things off the aesthetic and design are super cool. I’ve had my share of gaming laptops and desktops and the kit keyboard and the different backlight profiles are similar to other laptops. My favorite is the twinkling star one which I have pictured. My second favorite feature are the keys up at the top. You have a button to switch profiles, adjust the system fan, and more.
Unboxing it was an experience as well. It felt like finally someone was eco conscious and made an effort to use all of the cardboard to add versatility on how different accessories are boxed up. When you open the box and lift the lid it opens a small shelf with the items that come with the laptop.
My previous laptop didn’t have multiple USB-C ports and this one does. You’ll see I was able to maximize my landscape and use three screens! In comparison to the large screens it made me realize ASUS knocked it out of the park with the laptop’s crisp and High Definition laptop screen.
The Armour’s Crate is game central and think of it as the brain of your computer. It makes it easy to make adjustments to improve or make your gaming longer!
I have been glued to my laptop after work and I’ve been avoiding the gym. For me that’s a sign I’m really enjoying screen time. Now to find a healthy balance so that I can keep exploring the enhancements I’ve yet to untap in the Strix!

Razer Smooth Controls for Fast Action

I am really proud of myself for stepping up and jumping in on a stream controller.
I’ve seen multiple vlogging personalities and gaming streamers with one and I don’t honestly think I’m at a level that warrants thousands of followers. Yet…
However, you don’t have to be. If I would have known how much ease this brought to my office life I would have leaped to get a streaming deck much sooner.
The sheer fact that I can pull-up my social media pages in mere seconds during a game of Fortnite has me excited. If I get eliminated from a round I’ll toggle over at the click of a button and check on my pages.
The Loupedeck software is super helpful and really lets you tailor the streaming deck to whatever you want to make actions for. At first I thought you had to use literal stickers for the buttons which I thought was going to be a downfall. It turns out they are digital and can be tailored easily.
My favorite feature that I didn’t even think about was the anti-slip mount or grip. So if you make knee jerk reactions after rage quitting a game don’t worry the deck won’t slip off your desk like my headphones will.
If you use Adobe Photo shop you can also create actions for the program. I hadn’t used it in a bit but now it’s so easy to toggle over and edit snapshots of the wins I get!
It was super easy to set up, the actual device hardware doesn’t feel like plastic that will break easily, the buttons have a good cushion and react to your push (which leads me to assume they have good spring).
It took about 10 minutes to set up. Really it took longer to get the software installed than actually getting the device in place where I wanted it. A great addition to our office. We want one for our other house already!

I’m glad Best Buy has headed into the home aesthetics category of tech. For years I’ve walked the aisles and they have the wall plates for hiding wires but I rarely found a cool kit like this.
First make sure to have a stud finder if you can and don’t give into the urge to use a power drill to attach to the hole saw. Use the hand tool it gives you more control and it won’t feel as jarring.
The two power plates are very easy to install just make sure to measure and align your plates so it doesn’t look weird. I will be honest and say once you’re a few centimeters off it is hard to reverse (it was bothering me so I had to get a kit to patch and adjust the alignment). Easy mistake and a tough fix so be cautious.
Once you’ve made your holes you’ll run the actual power cords through the wall, snap them into place with the provided helmets that were provided. A side note is that there’s no tube to run the cord through like other kits in my house which can be troublesome if you have anything obstructing your cord in the wall like insulation.
It’s that simple, you then snap your face plates onto the screwed in wall plates and “ta-dah”!
You will then plug in your power cord to the wall outlet and run it to the nearest power source.
This was exactly what I needed for my guest room which is small, I wanted it to look minimal and simple without fuss.
The hand saw is going to make a mess with your drywall so have a vacuum on hand for the chalky powder.
A great project that takes about an hour to get complete and mounting your tv.
