A Sharp and Fast Laptop That is Dynamic

The Omen by HP, a gaming laptop in their line of computers is pretty great! I just returned from a trip to South America and I took the Omen with me. It persevered through my trip and gave me access any other laptop would. On top of that I was able to stream my favorite game Fortnite on the other side of the world with little fuss.
I was also working so I used this to manage photos, DropBox files, and the one component I didn't think I had use for came in handy. The SD card slot was all I used at my event which was produced for television. I needed to be able to have access to media like photos and videos on the fly. I was amazed that the Omen came ready with my SD card reader.
Some of the best features are also in the design from the colorful back lit keyboard that I can tailor to how I like it, the layout of the keys, the battery life is pretty good, and of course the Omen gaming Hub. The fans kick in pretty good when in gaming mode to keep the computer cool so that I don't compromise any of my streaming. Oh, and my favorite feature is that the charging port is behind the laptop and not on the side. So many laptop designers put the charging port in the side so when it sits in my lap like it is right now when I type the charger's wire bothers me. On the Omen the port won't bother you because it is behind the laptop and not on the sides.
For me a drawback was not having the 10 keys featured in the design but it wasn't a fully terrible letdown and how hefty the charging cable and wires can be. Otherwise, I'd say this is a 9 out of 10 for me because of the amazing graphics, the ability to withstand travel, its quick charge, and the ability to use it work work and play!

Saves the Day When You Need It

I’ll start with the premise you don’t think you need one of these until you do. Then you’re up a creek without a paddle. Sure SD and Micro SD cards are great for cameras but how do you manage files between computers and your other devices?
More importantly this has come in handy to update my sound bars, and other audio/theatre devices in my house that don’t just update themselves.
I’m currently in another country and what a safe bet to have this USB device. My peers and I needed to share files between different platforms and devices. I was the person who could facilitate this within the group. Our project was time sensitive and it meant we needed to be able to publish content on different social media sites but each of us had different contributions to the files.
Make sure you put it on a keychain or something because it is tiny and easy to lose. My only downside to this USB key is that it doesn’t have a cover to minimize or avoid getting debris in the connector.
Otherwise a great tool for professionals

The Atlas…the New WiFi Standard

Our homes have been Linksys fans for a while now. In fact we have had two other versions of this type of system for a few years now and love them. So when it came time to a new iteration in the form of the Atlas it was a no brainer.
The design is true to Linksys’ past where the small columns are not distracting in the spaces they live in and they are like little architectural figurines.
The system really maps and charts itself for you. Once you get setup done which takes about 10 minutes you will want to use the channel finder. I love using that feature to ensure that I’m maximizing and in a way calibrating the nodes to each other. Don’t assume once you’ve placed them that they are ready to go. You’ll want to take that extra step to be sure you are confident in your placement in your home.
The wonderful part is aside from the node connected to your modem the other two nodes sit nicely on shelves or in hidden corners discretely. You’ll see in my photos.
Having the Atlas in my had is really the backbone to not having whining visitors, kids, or compromising my video streaming and gaming. There are over 30 devices in my home competing for wifi at any given time so I need something that can handle that kind of surge and manage the output power it takes to make life easy.
Overall this is for the house who needs to be able to stream, play games like Fortnite, get business done, and allow all the other home gadgets to do their jobs without interruption. This is definitely for me.

Powerful Little Charging Cube

I feel like in the last five years companies have been phasing out their USB cords for the USB-C option, it creates a faster charge and it is becoming more and more universal.
I’m glad that Insignia rolled out their line of charging blocks because there hasn’t been a company that I’ve seen that has done this. I actually really want the dual charging block so that I can charge my phone and my laptop.
The construction and build doesn’t feel cheap either. I’ve had some charging cubes that pick up when I’m traveling and in a bind that I later regret ever purchasing.
This isn’t going to charge a laptop faster than you charging cables that came with the laptop but it will help to add to an arsenal of cubes for other small tech devices.
I’m traveling internationally soon so having this cube with my laptop is going to be helpful to save space in my backpack. It’s also not an eyesore on the wall and blends in really well so it isn’t a distraction that sits on the outlet.
So far it’s charged various devices and it doesn’t heat up or get hot which I also really concerned me.

Beautiful Elevated Sound That is Unmatched!

I’d say like the name suggests that this turntable is in a class larger and more grand than you think. Once you’ve set it up, picked your record, adjusted your speakers, and poured a drink you’ll be in love with the lost art of music and record players.
I’ll be honest as a thirty year old I thought I could t possibly get any benefit from a turntable but I remembered being younger and my my grandma playing this Patsy Cline record. It was awesome, I can still remember Crazy being on there.
So I’m an act for recreating nostalgia I got the Grand Class and I’m so glad that I did.
So setup is not as easy as plug and play, make sure you carve some time out for you to focus and calibrate your player. Really understand what you’re looking at from the screws to the major parts.
Get yourself a amplifier it makes all the difference. Plug your speakers in, place your record, drop the cover it, and enjoy the crisp beautiful sounds for hours.
I purchased a few Garth Brooks records because you can’t listen to him elsewhere and a Simon and Garfunkel album to listen to their song The boxer.
If I could play you a sample sound I would. The sound from the Grand Class can’t be matched headphones or your MP3 players,
I’m immensely happy with the Grand Class and I look forward to Holiday gatherings and dinners at my house. This winter I’m spending it hunting for albums I can’t listen to anywhere else and bringing them home! I hope I find a Patsy Cline album first.

Big Full Sound for All Weather and Occasions

Be a fan... that's what I am going to say. I've had Bluetooth speakers since I think speakers started featuring Bluetooth and I am always searching for the right one for the right scenario. I have the Wonderboom 2, so it was an easy decision to also have the Wonderboom 3 join the family. ESPECIALLY since you can pair the two by linking them (imagine surround sound but outside at a family gathering or watching a movie while camping and creating speaker system to wow your friends).
Wonderboom 3 doesn't disappoint with it's very long lasting battery life, charging could take a bit longer, and boy do I wish they would upgrade the charging port to USB-C. Anyhow, it isn't a big issue and after a full-charge you have hours and hours of music, or sound.
The features the word boom and boy does it have bass for such a small speaker. I often use the Wonderboom for traveling. I have been to so many hotels and no matter how comfortable the bed sheets, or accommodations, the walls still seem pretty thin. I love playing white noise sounds to sleep and Wonderboom fills the rooms I stay in with the perfect pitch and sound that I need. I wish there was a way to record and allow you to hear what I hear because I am very pleased with my Wonderboom. I love their family of products and dream about the day I get to upgrade for the larger speaker in the their line of speakers.
This is also an ideal speaker for the college student dorm-life or apartment life. It's easy to manage, very durable, and water proof.
I have taken my Wonderboom on tubing trips on the river and I use a carabiner to secure it to my tube. By the end of the first hour I have a group of people near or around my group because the music coming from the Wonderboom is that crisp and full of sound.
No matter the genre, the movie type, or sound... you'll be pleasantly satisfied with the Wonderboom 3. Oh and give that outdoor boost a try, I love waiting a bit to turn that feature on to get people talking, or to stop talking if they are too loud I tap the button and the sound becomes even fuller. Oh and I’m glad this one was built using recycled material, lots of companies are doing this and it feels good.

A Neat New-Wave Mic for Content Creating

The Wavo is like a neat little attachment you'd see on a UFO, dune buggy, or an intergalactic weapon that looks like it is going to shoot a laser or something. It's a microphone that looks neat on your camera or equipment for creating content. It captures laser focused sound that is for sure.
I have a trip to Chile coming up soon and I wanted to capture the sounds as crisp as the videos and images I'll surely capture in the country side and in the city.
Truly, the Wavo is a new wave and shape for a microphone where the boom mic lays horizonal as opposed to vertical. It's an easy setup, it took me about 10 minutes total from unboxing to mounting it on my camera.
The active noise reduction is really nice, and is something my current camera claims to have but each time I recorded people speaking it sounded muffled. Adding the Wavo immensely improved that static around public spaces.
The battery life is amazing and lasted a while. Now the lights and application take some getting used to since I am a newbie to Joby products. That is half the fun so I'm still tinkering with how to maximize the features based on the scenario or space I am in.
On my trip I plan to visit a volcano, get some great views of snow on a mountain, and capture the landscapes of country sides. I'm hoping the Wavo will help capture the sounds in a distance and up close. Next, I am giving it a dry run where I live so that I can work out kinks. I'm still trying to figure out how to carry it. The only downside is that it didn't come with a carrying case so I'll have to incorporate it into my backpack some how. I am scared to mess up the mic but that will figure itself out.

A Smart Cordless Option

My first thoughts were that the suction wasn’t as strong as I wanted it to be. Well if you’re like me give it a few times to convince you. You’ll notice that it actually picks up quite a bit of dirt.
Here is the kicker I thought my previous stick vacuum was picking up dirt. Then, I got my Tineco and the head of the roller attachments have lights aiming at the tile. So as I started my first cleaning I realized there was so much dirt and dust I could t see. A few days before my first use I purposely used my old vacuum. I was in awe from how much I thought more suction meant “cleaner”. During the first clean I was also excited not to have to hold a trigger. Tineco scored by creating the trigger lock so that you can focus on the task at hand and not the handle.
My favorite features are the color and how it blends so well in any room, quick charging, the LED lights on the vacuum attachments for the floor (which really highlight dirt on your floors you aren’t going to notice until you use it a few times/I’m still surprised how well that feature works), the dirt/particle sensing light, and the brush attachment for windows.
I can’t be sure but the dirt sensing light seems gimmicky and it probably senses somethings. A few times it thought the grout between my tile was dirt so it turned pink but there was no dirt. I caught that repeatedly.
Overall, a great cordless option for quick clean ups.
Oh, the smaller roller attachment does wonders on stairs with carpet. I didn’t have to exert a lot of energy to get the carpeting fluffy and clean.

Great SSD To Speed Up Downloads and Add Memory

If you're looking to add edge to the way you game, while step your game up then the WD Black drive is it. I never understood how to make my gaming faster or while some of my laptops or desktops became slower as a few years passed.
We downloaded some games with our gaming pass on the PC one of the older ones which was not as big Portal 2 which we had not played in a few years. Of course we had to load in some Fortnite and play a few rounds! The difference is immediately evident when downloading speeds came up.
I even noticed some in game loading was a lot faster than those of my friends in my squads. Small details like the near and far aspects within the backgrounds and the ability to just load into the lobby area while my friends took a while to join me.
The installation was actually kind of easy. I was totally intimated because the PC I just build last year was my first and the pandemic helped me push myself to tailor the PC to my wants. Adding the WD Black SSD card was something I wanted to spoil myself. There are so many games coming out this fall and winter that I want and having this on deck is going to help with not feeling like I have to compromise or remove games I love from my drives.
Overall, I am a fan of how much quicker it made downloads and small details within the games. While I wish it game with a heat sink, it was not a big detractor for me. I am very pleased with the ease and effectiveness of the Western Digital SSD!

The Avata… A Sophisticated Drone For Everyone!

I want to kick this off and state, "If you are on the fence of owning a drone out of fear or because you think it won't come in handy stop thinking that way and pick up the Avata"!
The Avata fits in the palm of my hands and it is as easy as it seems to fly. The packaging is sleek, as you open it you start to see all the components and it is clear that DJI left out any fluff and kept the design beautifully simple in design and the actual technology inside is sophisticated. I can't believe how much pizazz is in such a small drone. There are about 8 main pieces that you'll need to keep track of from the goggles, drone, and a couple of wires.
If you are a first time flyer rest assured that DJI has prepared some simple guides on how to fly the drone upon setup. You might feel challenged when linking the devices but don't worry it will work and then you are set. If you have ever played the old school arcade games with a joy stick which I feel is everyone. Then you will quickly understand the joystick style controls of the drone.
You can ascend, descend, accelerate, brake, and spin all... with the flick of your wrist. It really is that smooth.
Now the magic of the goggles is another level. I was amazed with the bird's eye view the goggles provide while the drone is floating above the beautiful tree lines of my city's trails. In my videos I felt that I was clunky, when I came home and decompressed, then viewed my videos I felt proud of what I captured.
A couple of downsides for me are the battery life and exporting my photos and videos. With 18 minutes of fly time I felt that as I got my groove and explored my area the battery quickly depleted. I am definitely going to invest in some more batteries. I have a trip to Chile soon and I want to make sure that I can capture as much of the sky and mountains as possible. Next, is the exporting of files. I am sure DJI is working on adding the feature but at the moment you can only export from the drone by moving the memory card to the goggles or to your computer.
It is the peak of summer but as I opened my Avata's box it truly felt like Christmas morning. I am so excited to show family and friends the possibilities of capturing footage via a drone. We are so accustomed to capturing memories via phones and traditional cameras. The Avata is going to wow people this holiday season. Excited, is an understatement and I hope you get as much joy from it as I have the last couple of days. DJI also has a social community and forum for members who are novice like me and experts so I can't wait to learn and share with the world! If I can help in any way, please ask.
