The Ledger Nano S is a very affordable hardware crypocurrency wallet that supports many cryptocurrency types. The device is very secure with Ledger’s own operating system and numerous anti-hacking enhancements.
The device generates your own private key for your cryptocurrency you install an app for each cyrpto currency. The actual crypocurency stays on the blockchain.
The Nano S can support 5-11 tokens through apps You can remove an app and put in another if you need to add a token to sell or exchange it and you don’t have space your crypto from the removed app will stay in the Ledger wallet although this is not ideal it is doable. Bottom line if you need more apps on a regular basis you can purchase the big brother the Nano X.

The setup was easy, just install the Ledger live app on your computer or mobile device, connect your Nano S with the included USB cord. The App will walk you through the setup. Data entry is achieved by using two buttons on the device, this is a little tedious but once you get used to it not too bad. The device will generate your recovery security words and ask you to confirm them. You can specify if you want 18 or 24. You will need to copy the 18 or 24 security words these are your keys to get back into your wallet if anything happens to your device.
After the device is setup you can install an app to support the cryptocurrency you need to move to the wallet. When you are ready to transfer you cryptocurrency you just copy the Ledger wallet address and use the standard transfer method for your online exchange or wallet to get it into the Ledger wallet. You can also store NFTs or connect your Ledger wallet to other wallets like Metamask, Ledger has a vast online help library to guide you.
I had one glitch setting up the wallet after I generated the 24 security words you confirm them, I did not get through the entire 24, the device rebooted twice, I think it was doing a firmware update. After the second reboot I entered the 24 security words to restore the wallet and it worked as expected. You might want to connect the Ledger S to your computer and let it update if it needs to so you can avoid this.
As Cryptocurrency becomes mainstream and online storage of your cryptocurrency becomes more prone to hacking a hadware wallet is a much more secure way to hold your cryptocurrency. The Ledger Nano S is an affordable and easy to use solution. Ledger is a well know and it’s device has a proven record of reliability. I feel this is the best choice for most of cryptocurrency investors who generally hold 5-6 types of cryptocurrency.

Good looking but falls short in performance

The Core innovations indoor Tv antenna is a good looking amplified Tv antenna. The shape resembles a small spherical speaker with a flat cloth grill. The antenna has a built in amplifier powered by a small power adapter. There is a lighted indicator under the cloth grill for signal strength. In my rural area I could only get 2 out of 3 bars. I previously had a cheap flat HDTV antenna. When I rescanned my channels with the Core antenna I lost a few channels in addition the reception of others was inconsistent. This antenna certainly did not reach the 80mi claim for reception. If you live in a suburban area or city I am sure this antenna would be fine and look good taking up a small space. If you live in a rural area look elsewhere.

Great 4KStreamer with Tivo content curation

The Tivo Stream 4k is a new Android streaming stick from the folks at Tivo. The stick is a dongle design with a short cable with hdmi connector attached to an almost square streaming device with the Tivo logo on it. This arrangement allows a little better wifi and easier install in tight spaces. It comes with a great remote that includes Voice imput. There is no ongoing fee from Tivo.
The streamer itself supports up to 4k at 60 FPS and HDR 10 or Dolby Vision HDR with Dolby Atmos if your TV and sound bar support these formats. The UI for Android TV and the Tivo Stream+ app are very quick with no delay on scrolling and quick loading of any app I tried. There is 8gb of eMMC onboard storage memory and 2 gb DDR4 ram. The Chipset is the Amlogic S905Y2. Wifi supports 802.11 b/g/n/ac using 2.45/5G MIMO with 2T2R (2 antennas capable of 2 data streams). Bluetooth 4.2. HDMI is version 2.0a. Power input is micro USB2.0. Intrestingly there is a USB-C port this can support an external storage device, mouse, keyboard or even a camera and various other USB-c devices.
The Tivo Stream+ app presents your live TV and other content in a guide format. The various services that the content is available show above the guide allowing you to choose where you want to watch a particular content. This is very helpful when you are looking where certain content may be available. The Stream+ app also has it’s own live TV content from Tivo as well as PlutoTV. The guide will also show live TV from Sling if you have that service. Sadly it is lacking integration with live TV from other popular services, hopefully these will be added in the future. You can also use the Google assistant to search for any content or open any app by voice. The assistant voice feature works very well. All of your other apps are available right from the menu on the left side of the guide of the Stream+ app. There is no exit back to the Android home screen but if you press the assitant and say “home screen” it takes you to the android hme screen. You can also get to the settings the same way just say “settings”. I found this is the fastest way to get to the underlying android interface.
The Tivo Stream 4k also has the standard GoogleTV launcher and homepage with tiles and suggested content. The google assistant and Chromcast are also included.
The Tivo setup asks about the services you have and then presents you with content based on your choices in the Tivo Stream+ app. I found the suggestions good if you spend time on going through the full process, this can be time consuming but will give you better suggestions in the end.
The only major app missing is DirectTV stream as it is from all android streaming sticks except FireTV. You can sideload an APK but this is somewhat advanced. I hope Tivo will add this and the live TV support for other apps like YouTubeTV and Hulu LiveTV. You can access the live content from the native apps it is just not presented in the guide.
The Tivo Stream is a very capable and affordable streaming dongle. It performs better than most dongles and is on par with the Nvidia Sheild and Google Tv dongle. The Dolby Vision and Dolby Atomos is great if your equipment supports it. I did not experience any slowness to the UI mentioned in some other reviews. I did have to manually enable Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos. The device come with Android 9 (pie).

The Back-UPS 450VA 6-Outlet Battery Back-Up and Surge Protector is a new smaller battery backup unit from APC. The UPS has 4 battery backup with surge protection and 2 surge protected outlets. The 4 sockets are spaced enough for power bricks to fit. I like the rectangular shape with all the sockets in one line. This unit is small and has keyhole sockets allowing mounting in rack units, on a wall or behind a desk. Apc says this unit will run you computer for about 45 minutes and a wireless router for about 2 hours. The listed Output is 120 Vac / 50 or 60 Hz +/- 1Hz with autosensing on line power or 115 Vac +/- 8% / 50 or 60 Hz +/- 1Hz with autosensing on battery. The listed capacity is 450VA 255W. Your equipment is covered by a $75,000 3 year warranty, when plugged into this device. If you are looking for a battery backup to run your electronic equipment at a reasonable price this is a good choice as long as you equipment does not exceed the capacity of the unit.

Great Smartwatch from Citizen

The CZ Smartwatch is watchmaker Citizen's first smartwatch. The styling of the watch takes hints of classic citizen watches. There are 2 buttons that can be programmed. As delivered the top one opens the watch face and the lower one opens Google fit. The crown button opens the watch face double pressing the crown button will open the applications you can then rotate the crown button to scroll the application menu. The watch itself is 46 mm with a stainless steel case and looks good on most wrists. The band is 22mm wide and can be replaced with a standard watch band if you like. The screen is an amoled OLED with gorilla glass covering it. The display is sharp and clear with excellent readability. The watch is waterproof to 3 meters and is Ip67 rated. This watch has Bluetooth 5.0 and I found the connection to be stable with great sound from the speakers and good voice pickup from the microphone so that phone calls answered from the watch are very good.
Citizen includes a few watch faces but none of them mimic their best classic watches. You can use watch faces from the Google Play Store or the Facer app to access more faces.
The watch runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon wear 3100 which is an older generation processor. The latest Google wear H-MR2 is installed already this makes this watch GUI faster and improves the battery performance. I am able to get a full day's wear out of on this watch with a couple of hours to spare. The watch will charge fully in about 80 minutes. A USB magnetic charger is included. There are 8 megabytes of storage memory for your programs.
The heart rate monitor works well. And you can use the preinstalled Google fit to track your exercise.
The Spotify app is also installed allowing you to stream music to a pair of Bluetooth headphones from the watch. You can download a podcast or music to the watch and go for a run or walk without having to bring your phone.

I really like this watch, I wish they had used the Qualcomm 4100 and included some of the iconic citizen watch faces but as it is it is a great smartwatch. Band options are really unlimited as you can use any standard 22mm watchband.

Great Entry Level Gaming Laptop

The Dell G15 5515 Ryzen Edition is a new gaming laptop from the Dell/Alienware group. The Laptop has been released in 2 versions, an entry level with the Ryzen 5 5600H and 120hz a more powerful version with Ryzen7 and 165hz screen. I have the entry level laptop. It is disappointing that the display response time is 35ms in this version, the 165hz screen has a 13ms response. As with most entry level systems the laptop comes with Windows 10 Home installed. The Grey speckled color scheme I recieved is unique and good looking.
Gameplay at FHD is good, the Nvidia RTX 3050 is able to achieve great frame rates on high settings. You can game at 4k with an appropriate external screen. For FHD gaming the builtin screen is not the best it’s color gamut and response time are poor. The 15.6 FHD display is the matte type with 120 hz response time it is rated at 250 nits and 35ms response. The Nvidia RTX 3050 gives great gaming performance. It has 4gb of GDDR 6 and allows decent gameplay at FHD resolution. Fortunately Dell has placed several ports in the rear of the laptop to allow secondary screens using HDMI or USB Type C displayport. If you want to do any serious gaming a good gaming monitor would be recommended. The keyboard and touchpad have a good feel and response. Dell has provided a gaming mode “G” key to allow maximum cooling while gaming, while this is very effective the fans are loud. The 720p webcam is good for video conferencing for business and video chat for gaming.
I like the fact that this laptop is upgradable, there is an open memory slot and another slot for a second ssd. The memory is upgradable to 32 gb you will need to install 2 modules for that. Currently there is 1 8 gb module installed in single channel mode. For the SSD you will need to purchase the hold down hardware from dell or a third party.
External ports include one USB 2.0 port, One USB 2.0 port with PowerShare, One USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, One USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort, One HDMI 2.1 Port, One combined microphone/headphone port, One ethernet port. The laptop supports up to Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
The AMD Ryzen 5 5600H is a very capable processor for gaming when paired with the Nvidia RTX 3050 it provides very good gaming and video performance.

These wireless add on rear speakers are 100 W each and pair effortlessly with the Sony A7000 soundbar. Adding these really improves the surround of this already Amazing soundbar. The speakers are standard looking but pack a punch. While they are optional I highly recommend them.

The Sony A7000 Soundbar is their new High end 7.1.2 Atmos soundbar. The soundbar itself has 2 up firing speakers, five front speakers (one built in subwoofer, two teeters and two full range speakers). The soundbar by itself produces great sound. You can add the optional wireless rear speakers and Subwoofer to bring your home theater to truly amazing sound levels. With 500 W of power from the soundbar itself and 300W from the optional subwoofer plus 100W from each optional rear speaker you will have to warn your neighbors if you crank it up. Star Wars never sounded so good!
This soundbar is large 51.25 in x 3.25in by 5.63in weighing 19lb 2oz. It is good looking with a piano black case and dark cloth mesh. There are buttons on the top of the soundbar for control and a full feature remote control included. Sony also includes wall mounting brackets if you need them.
Sony includes an onscreen user interface to perform the setup and management of the soundbar. One of the great utilities is the Sound Field Optimization routine that automatically optimizes the surround sound field this saves you from the task of manually adjusting levels of each speaker although you still can. You can connect your WiFi and integrate with Alexa or Google Assistant. Sony has built in Chromcast, Spotify connect and Apple airplay as well as Bluetooth.
This soundbar is one of very few that pass through 4k and even 8k at 120HZ with 2 HDMI 2.1 input ports with Dolby Atmos and DTS:S sound. This can expand your ability to connect devices to you TV that has a single 4k eARC HDMI port. If you have a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S you can connect it directly to this soundbar and experience awesome sound with your gaming. The other inputs are analog and optical audio and USB A as well as Bluetooth. You can even connect headphones by Bluetooth for private listening. The list of supported codes are dizzying: Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Dual mono, DTS, DTS HD High Resolution Audio, DTS HD Master Audio, DTS ES, DTS 96/24, DTS:X, LPCM, DSD, Wav, Flac, ALAC(.m4a, .mov), AIFF(.aiff, .aif), HE AAC, AAC, mp3, Monkey Audio, WMA and Ogg Vorbis. This soundbar even supports Reality sound 360 with the appropriate streaming service subscription.
I have had several soundbars before this one and the sound from this one is by far the best. Adding the optional rear speakers and Subwoofer transform this into a the best sounding system I have ever owned. While there are some that come close if you want the best this soundbar is worth every penny.

SanDisk/Western digital supplies free Memory zone software that is really great. The software is available for Apple iPhone and iPad the Appstore or Android phone or tablet from the Play store. Memory zone will help you back up, clean out junk files or just transfer your files and photos. The software has an automatic backup feature that allows you to backup files to your SanDisk USB drive or even a cloud drive.
I easily allowed the 146 GB of photos, videos, files and contacts on my phone to the SanDisk Dual Drive Lux with space to spare in about 30 minutes. Read speed is 150mb/s for this drive. The Write speed is slower. I have added a benchmark photo. Although this will not break any speed records it did so without errors and I can access all these files directly on my computer without any problems as well as have a backup for installation on a new phone or other device.
The small silver metal USB key can be carried on your key ring. It is very stylish and unobtrusive and not easily damaged.

Hey! I was wondering if this laptop had expandable memory capabilities and what the maximum is? Much appreciated!
Yes up to 32 mb, You have to be careful with module selection to achieve the top speed. There are two slots. Apparently according to other online reviews come with 2 4gb modules but others like mine came with 1 8gb module. You have to get the correct voltage and density modules to achieve 3200mhz otherwise the laptop will downclock them.

can i go to the stores to buy HP ink?
Yes, HP ink is available at many retailers. I personally use the Instant Ink program. If you print on a regular basis it is a great deal. My ink costs have gone way down and I never run out!

Yes you just need to install a dual outlet valve, they are available at many home supplies. I would suggest a valve that attaches to the existing one. If you replace the existing valve it is more involved you will need to turn off the home water supply, unscrew or desolder the old valve and put a new one on.

Can a designated counter mounted faucet be used with this filter?
Yes, you just have to install a split feed adapter to your water supply one will go to the faucet and one to the filter. The out of the filter goes to you separate faucet. You will have to purchase the splitter separately, there are several types just make sure the one you choose does not restrict flow in any way.
