My understanding is that the "yellows" and "wifi" issues were fixed by a BIOS update--which you can apply through a software download. Be sure to read and follow the instructions (readme file) carefully.

I've also read that the update didn't work for some. YMMV. Google for "lenovo yoga 2 pro yellow problem" for further reading and a link to the download files. Good luck!

This is the link for all the updates, including BIOS and all drivers. This fixes the yellow issue and the wifi issues. You should bookmark this site if you own this computer to check for any updates.

This was actually released as a Firmware update. Check out Lenovo's support page and see if you can upgrade your firmware - should fix the issue!

I do not know for sure, but the original Yoga was upgradeable from 4 to 8 gigs of ram. Also, yellow and wifi issue were software fixes not new hardware.

No it only comes with 4 or 8 and you have to choose at the time of purchase. I think the I7 is the only one that retails with 8G.

I wouldn't, the bottom panel requires a special tool to open and this ultrabook is so thin everything must be very compact and close together. You can try, but unless you're doing video or photo editing, 4GB of RAM is plenty. Hope this helps!

Hi, you can specify your home delivery address as address of one of your local BestBuy stores, so you can pick it up from there anytime. It is weird, but bestBuy doesn't ship to some stores directly if you choose option "Ship to Store".
I had the same issue and this solution worked for me.

I had the same problem, I tried desperately for this configuration. Fortunately on my visit to NY for something unrelated, I just randomly inquired and was fortunate to find it available only one store NY, Lexington Av at 83rd St. I put all my appointments on hold and rush to get this model. Have been using it every since and love it. The itch I had was, when shelling out about $1000 bugs couple more hundred will double the configuration, lucky I got it.

Chatted with a BB rep, got the same answer as Randis. Probably I will go with an i5 4GB model... Hopefully that will increase some battery life at sacrifice of performance. Also hoping that 4GB memory is enough for me. 128GB ssd is not a big issue. I'm going to install some light games(FIFA 14, dota2...) and that won't take up much space. But storage is always "the larger, the better".

I have been trying to purchase this laptop for a week now. After speaking with several chat reps and local BB sales reps, I was told that the 8gb model was being removed from their inventory and won't be available in my area at all.

At one point in time, the site listed it as available PICKUP only at 2 stores in my area, but I was not able to make it to those locations. A day later, UNAVAILABLE everywhere.

Just connect to the internet and it will "call home" and activate itself. The activation code is embedded in the laptop and will be sent to Microsoft as soon as internet connectivity is realized.

Windows 8 no longer puts the Windows key on the laptop anymore, for security reasons. It is in the Bios now. You can use a third party software to scan your system configuration and find the key that way, or you can look up online on how to change your windows 8 key or find your key through regedit.

Conflicting WiFi information

Q:

On the Overview tab in the "Product Features" section it says "Next-Gen Intel® Wireless-AC connectivity
Connect to a Wireless-AC router for up to 3x the speed, more capacity and broader coverage than Wireless-N. Backward-compatible with all other Wi-Fi networks and hotspots." also the AC Wi-Fi Logo is displayed. But in the Specifications tab it says "Wireless Networking Wireless-B+G+N".

Which is correct?

I purchased mine in Nov., 2014...it has the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.
I have the Netgear Tri-Band router and the Yoga 2 Pro picks up both the 2.4 and the (2) 5 GHz signals...but beware, Lenovo has a bad rap for it's wifi. And, I will attest to it - the Lenovo wifi is terrible on my laptop. Poor range, drops signal and very choppy internet

The unit I purchased in mid December has "Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260" listed in device manager. I think the earlier editions only had -n, but mine is AC. I doubt Best Buy updated the product description since it essentially didn't change from "Yoga 2 Pro".

There's 2 versions, one has AC one only has single (!) band BGN. Both helpfully have the same Best Buy UPC so you'll need to look at the white label on the outside of the box, it'll say which one it has (AC or BGN).

Honestly tho, don't buy it. I've taken back 2 already.

As long as Quickbooks Pro is compatible with Windows 7/8 I don't know why it wouldn't. The hardware is plenty fast for basic needs like Quickbooks.

This computer runs every program I own better than any I've had before. The ONLY drawback is that because it is so light, it does not have a built in dvd/cd player. You would either need to use downloaded programs (if you want to install something that's not already on it), or buy a separate cd/dvd player that connects with a USB cord.

Is it being removed from inventory permanently?

Q:

The previous question was answered with 'the product is being removed from inventory and therefore won't be available in most locations.'
Is this going to be a permanent thing? I really wouldn't mind waiting for a month or two if it means getting double the DDR and a superior chipset.
I love everything about this laptop and kind of have my heart set on it, but if there's no chance of getting it, I might as well order the Surface 2 now.

The product is probably being removed from inventory due to overwhelming returns back to the store. if you haven't already read the reviews, this product has excellent form factor, excellent build quality, but horrible WiFi performance. Since it's a tablet and the only way you can connect it to the internet is WiFi, the poor Wifi chip makes the product unusable. It's so bad Lenovo sent me a sales email on this product with a $300 price drop the second week of release!

It is being flagged in all Best Buy systems as unavailable to order, even if you go into a store. I called a friend of mine today that works there and by a miracle they found one in the store behind a ton of other laptop boxes. It wasn't even in their inventory. They added it and sold ti to me which was amazing. I believe it is delayed because it's not supposed to be $1199. It is $1599 on lenovo.com so they are probably working that out. Definitely pick it up if you see it - it's awesome :)
