Does the touchscreen work under water? I've had trouble with using a touchscreen underwater with a waterproof phone.

Water pressure can make it difficult for the screen to register your touch. In these situations, we recommend get the settings locked in before going underwater, or switching to a separate mode that allows you to control the settings using the physical buttons on the GoPro.

Does it come with external microphone jack

The HERO7 Silver does not have a port for an external mic. If you are looking to connect an external mic, you'll want to use the HERO8 Black along with the new Media Mod, or the HERO7 Black along with our Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter.

Yes, all GoPro cameras record audio using built-in microphones. In addition, if you want to connect an external mic to the HERO8 Black, you can do that by using the GoPro with the new Media Mod.

In the box, the HERO7 Silver comes with a mounting buckle and adhesive mounts.

Because the HERO8 Black is a different shape and size than our previous models, the HERO8 will not fit in the Super Suit. There is a separate housing that is made just for the HERO8 Black though.

Do you still need a protective case to go snorkeling.

Not with the HERO7 Black. It's waterproof on its own down to 33 feet.
