Is this a good camera for recording close-up videos? I do electronic repair and I like to make videos for my customers to show them what I'm doing and what is wrong with their equipment before I start. When I say close recordings. I mean 3 ft or less.

Yes, the HERO7 Silver is great for these types of recordings. GoPro cameras are designed to keep everything in focus, including objects that are nearer and further away in the same shot. As long as the nearest object is about 6 inches or so away from the lens, it'll all be in focus. Can this be used while diving, or does the floating aspect prevent it from being easy to use while diving deep?

The Handler has enough buoyancy to float a GoPro camera, but not so much that it makes it hard to take underwater on your dive. Many scuba divers use the Handler on their dives.

Does this work with 512gb micro sd card?

There's a 512GB card that we have verified will work with the HERO8 Black. It's possible that other 512GB cards could work too, but the best option is to check out the GoPro website for the full list of recommended cards.

Can you use GoProHero 8 Black to livestream swimmers underwater?

To livestream, the GoPro needs to be connected to a computer using the USB-C cable. When the cable is connected, the GoPro will not be waterproof. So, in order to make this work, you'd need to find a way to enclose the camera and cable so it all stays dry.

Will the Hero 5 accessories work with the hero 8

Nearly all accessories that work with the HERO5 will also work with the HERO8 Black. The key exceptions will be housings since the HERO8 is slightly different in size and shape than the HERO5 and there are some limitations on newer features in the HERO8 if you use batteries made for the HERO5, but the core functions would still work. But nearly all mounts or other attachments will work fine with both models.

Is there mounting hardware available if a person would want to mount this on a motorcycle? What is this additional housing available for extra protection from water?

There are several options for mounting a GoPro to your motorcycle. One of the best is going to be the GoPro Handlebar Mount. You can also look at the GoPro Tube Mounts, and a lot of motorcycle riders use the adhesive mounts that come with the GoPro to attach the GoPro directly to their helmet. For extra protection, there is a Protective Housing for the HERO8 Black sold separately that protects from water damage and some impact damage.
