What are the recommended picture settings for this TV. My color is awful and can not get it set correctly.

When first set up TV, picture was excellent. The cable box went out, and when the TV came back on, the color was different. I have tried to re-set, but nothing is making the picture look good. There is no red color, most o the color on the screen is purple, burnt orange, and yellow.
Thnaks
Patrick,

You may wish to check if this is happening with other devices or on all inputs.

It could be that the cable box needs an update, or to be replaced.

Will this play AVCHD format?

I have a Hi Def Camcoder that I make AVCHD recordings on DVD discs and play in my current Blu-ray player. Just wondering if this model will support playing this format.
Yes, AVCHD is supported.

faint clicking sound when tv is first turned off, is this normal?

Just got the TV and it makes a very faint clicking sound for about 25 seconds when first turned off and the back panel runs warmer than my other non UHD, Led TVs. Is this normal or has anyone else had this? Don't want to overreact b/c TV is perfect otherwise but not sure if I should be worried!
Some warmth is normal, as is the "click" or powering on process.

If you feel it's excessive, call the Samsung customer service center or the Geek Squad Agents in your area and have your unit checked out.

Why Not great sound

Why would Samsung make a nice TV and not do a great deal on the sound ,

Also the 4k Netflix does not work .
rddixon,

The audio can sometimes be limited because of the flat design of the television doesn't always allow for robust audio. It's good for news or cartoons or other home use, but for rich deep sound, additional audio can be added at any time.

The Netflix UHD option requires a subscription upgrade. You'll also want to check to make sure that the latest firmware on the TV is installed for the smoothest playback.

Display height

Why does my screen display height keep changing (between show and commercial to commercial)? Get black bar of varying sizes top and bottom.
It may be how the programming was filmed.

It's usually recommended to have both the source (Blu-Ray player, cable box, etc) AND the television to be set at 16x9.

RCA Audio Out Connections?

I have an old school head unit with the typical RCA white and red plug for surround sound. On the back of the TV, I see it has the AV IN only and a single port of audio out. Can I plug into the AV IN and it will work? Or do I need an adapter? If so, what kind? Hard to tell on the internet as the only adapter I see is to a 3.5mm. Thanks!

Cami,

The Adapter needed for an RCA connection would be a 3.5mm male to an RCA male (sold separately).

Samsung - 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) - LED - Curved - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV

Plus, the included Web features allow you to stream videos and music, surf the Web, and download apps from the comfort of your couch.

I just bought & set up. When I check the source, the reading is 2160/720 - 60. Does this translate to 720p and 60Hz? How do I get improved performance

Rob,

Yes, that wouldd be 720/60Hz as an incoming signal.

Try increasing the output of the video signal at the source. This is a 4K TV, so it will always display (and convert) the signal to 4K. The information you're seeing is the TV letting you know what the incoming signal is.

If this is your Blu-Ray player or a cable box, you can go into THAT unit's video menu, and change the sent resolution to 1080p (or highest available is usually going to give you the best result), and then you'll see that reflected in the info bar indicating so on the TV.

Samsung - 400 Series 2.1-Channel Soundbar with 6.5" Wireless Active Subwoofer - Black
With 300W total power and a 6.5" wireless active subwoofer, this Samsung 400 Series HW-J450/ZA soundbar allows you to add robust, dynamic audio to your existing home theater setup. The Bluetooth 2.1 interface lets you link with select devices.

Can I connect Samsung 400 series Soundbar to my Rocketfish HDMI splitter

I want to connect the soundbar to may Rocketfish HDMI Splitter instead of directly to the TV. My TV is wall mounted and wires are hidden behind wall. TV is connected to Comcast receiver and receiver is connected to the splitter. DVD and Head Phones are also connected to the splitter.
We recommend one connection per port. A splitter may or may not support the signal.
