If this speaker supports streaming music from my laptop, will the other networked speakers play it as well?

The only other speakers that will definitely play in sync with this speaker are other Sonos products. There are ways to connect to multiple speakers through Airplay 2 but only if your computer is an Apple product and your other speakers support Airplay 2.

I have a Sonos sound bar and woofer that were purchased 6-8 years ago. Will adding a Sonos-One (Gen 2) speaker work with my two existing speakers since they are older. Will voice control work for the whole system?

Great question! You can absolutely add Sonos Ones to a system that includes our Playbar and Sub. If you were planning on using them as rear channel speakers in a surround sound you will add voice to that room. If you are planning on using them in separate rooms you could group them to hear television sound in other rooms and you could control the Playbar with voice from those rooms as well.

The Play:5 is an WiFi connected speaker from Sonos. It has six drivers and creates incredible stereo sound out of this one speaker. It is designed to stream all the content that you want to listen to through the Sonos app and is Airplay 2 compatible. As part of the Sonos system the Play:5 can be grouped with any other Sonos speaker in your home over WiFi to play music, television, or any other content you are listening to in perfect sync even across the house. The Play:5 also includes a line in so you can connect a record player or other external sources to listen to music however you want!

HELLO, I CURRENTLY HAVE THE OLD SONOS AMP AND THE COMPRESSED MUSIC SOUNDS TERRIBLE/LOW. IS THIS NEW AMP CAPABLE OF MAKING THE COMPRESSED MUSIC SOUND ANY BETTER?

The new Sonos Amp is much more powerful than the Connect:Amp. If you feel that the volume is not what you should be getting out of your speakers then the additional power (125 watts per channel on Amp compared to 55 per channel on Connect:Amp) will make a big difference!

Do you need to have Wi-Fi in order for Alexa and or Google Assistant to work or can you use them with Bluetooth?

You must be connected to a WiFi network to use Alexa or Google Assistant. On bluetooth there is no internet connection for your voice assistant (which lives on the speaker) to utilize.

Simple question. Can I connect i11 phone downloaded music from iTunes and current XM subscription to Sonos Port. Then connect Port thru an RCA hardwire to a stand alone amplifier or Echo Link Amp to hardwired speakers? Cannot link i11 music to Echo

Great question! You can absolutely do this. You would use the Airplay 2 functionality of your phone to play the music that is stored on your phone. You can do the same with your XM streaming service or you can link your XM account to your system and control it through the Sonos app. If you do not already own the amplifier or Echo Link Amp you could also purchase a Sonos Amp which would give you the same functionality as the set up you describe in one device with a very powerful, high quality amp!

Can you disable the Alexa feature?

Great question! You can use the Beam and never link Alexa to your Sonos system by simply skipping that part of the set up process. If you would like to link your Amazon account to the Beam but disable Alexa at specific times you simply tap the microphone button on the Beam to disable the microphone and stop Alexa from listening.

Looking to pair two of these mounted on the wall under my back patio and use wifi to stream music do I need an amp as well or are these self amplified To where they just need plugged into AC power ??

Play:5 speakers just need to be plugged into power and have a WiFi connection to stream music.
