I have a 55" Samsung TV. Most sound bars are too thick or high to sit in front of my TV because they cover the eye that's needed to turn TV on, off, volumn and channel changes. My TV sits almost 2" from table top. How thick or high is this sound bar?

Thanks for your question. The Sonos Beam height is 2.72 inches. The Beam has an IR receiver, but not an IR repeater. Some commands that are received over IR will be sent back to the TV over CEC, assuming you're connected with HDMI-ARC and you have the TV's CEC enabled.

You may need to boost the TV up if the commands you're needing don't pass through, or you're connected using the optical connection.

Will this unit work if it is placed in an open cabinet-style furniture piece, or must it be placed on the floor?

Thanks for your question. It will function but for best audio results, this should live on the floor. Any subwoofer will perform optimally when not placed on a floor.

Thanks for your question. Sonos speakers would not be compatible with other brands soundbars. A pair of Sonos Ones can be used as surrounds with Sonos Ray, Beam, or Arc.

someone gifted me a sonos sub what do i need to connect it/use it i have a Merantz reciever and a a sony smart tv

Thanks for the question. Sonos Sub would not directly connect to either the receiver or directly to the TV. Sonos Sub only connects to a Sonos speaker. In your case, you would need to replace your receiver and speakers with a Sonos sound bar. If you only wanted to use the Sub for music playback rather than music and TV, you could but a single Sonos music speaker (One, OneSL, Five) and the Sub could connect to one of those.

Does it come with charger Sonia speaker for $159

HI Dia, the Roam SL comes with the USB C to USB cable that is needed to charge it but you will need to connect it to a 10W charging brick. That does not come included with the product.
