Thanks for the question. It absolutely can when you use two units. When setting up a surround configuration you need two One/SL speakers. If you only have one Sonos One SL that can be used for a separate zone of audio.

Hi… I understand remote is not included for Sonos beam gen2 sound at..and.adjusting the volume is through the smart phone. In case if I go outside how the family members operate this unit.. how they will adjust volume etc. ?

Thanks for you question, Sonos Beam allows you to use your own TV remote to control the volume. You can use the app but most people utilize the remote they already have for their TV or cable box. Using a remote is configured easily during set up.

Can you turn off/disable the Alexa voice recognition on this speaker? I have an Amazon Echo device that I use as my primary in the same room, and I prefer to keep it that way. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the question. Voice on this product is completely optional. It only is active if you enable and log into a voice platform. If you dont wish to use voice then skip that part of set up and you are good to go.

I intend on plugging this speaker into the eARC port on my tv. Is there any benefit to using an HDMI 2.1 cable over the HDMI 2.0 cable that comes with the sound bar?

Thank you for the question. The cable that comes in the box will provide the Beam Gen 2 with speed needed to provide Dolby Atmos from a TV to the speaker.

Do you need one or two speakers to work with a stereo system?

Sonos Sub Mini will bond with any Sonos powered speaker for the exception of Roam and Move. It could be a single speaker, a stereo pair, or a Sonos home theater configuration. This Subwoofer will not connect to a third-party amplifier.

I keep reading the specs for this new unit, but I can't find any information about humidity resistance. I've got two Sonos 1's on my covered patio and they've worked great for years, but I'd like to add this new sub just to give better bass in this area.

Thanks for your question. Sonos Sub Mini does not have the humidity rating Sonos One does. I could be used in the space but we do not recommend leaving it in any inclement weather or environments.

Hi Leah, thank you for your question. If you have wifi coverage in all those areas you can absolutely have one in each area. It will all come down to the wifi coverage. You can use it with iTunes music from a computer by downloading the desktop controller on Mac or PC, but if you are looking to use stored music from your Apple device you can use Airplay to send audio to the speakers.
