Does the Sonos Ray provide any sort of water resistance like the Sonos Roam or Sonos Move?

Is this speaker good for outdoors? Was thinking of using it as a tailgate speaker.

This speaker needs a power source and is not rated for outdoor use. Our recommendation would be to use the Sonos Move.

Can I install 4 of the architectural passive 2 way in wall speakers to create a surround sound effect? 2 on the sides of the TV and 2 on the opposite wall? Also, can I add a receiver and connect all 4 architectural speakers and a subwoofer to it?

Hi, and thank you for your question. Yes you can, you would need x2 Sonos Amps to do this. One powering the fronts and one powering the surrounds. You can even add our Sub wirelessly or another company's sub to it with the sub output built into the Amp. No receiver needed.

Can the roam be powered on/off from the app or do you have to power it up via the power button the speaker

Roam can be power off by holding down the power button for 5 seconds. Or, in room settings you can enable (if it's not already) battery saver mode that will automatically shut it off instead of put it to sleep after a few minutes.

It will. It works just like our other soundbars. It uses an optical cable to plug into your tv.

Hi, and thank you for your question. Our products do not have bluetooth outside of our portable products Move and Roam. We use your home's wifi, which is a much better experience for streaming and connecting speakers. That being said, you can do the feature you're asking for even more reliably on wifi. You can have up to 32 Sonos speakers all playing the same thing at the same time or different songs in different rooms. Up to you!
