First, I'm sorry, Sonos, but your customer service (chat and 800 number) is beyond horrible and the worst I've experienced in a long long time. In any event does the Sonos 5 decode in true hi res format? I'm speaking to 24 bit 44khz to 192.

Do I need to shut the port streaming media player off when I will not be using it for a few months?
No, the Port is designed to be on all the time in a low power state so that it's ready to play music when you are.

Can the Sonos Beam gen2 connect to a smart TV using Bluetooth (instead of HDMI) assuming the TV is Bluetooth equipped?
It cannot. Beam does not have bluetooth.

Someone answered my question regarding Apple TV 4K connection which I appreciated however, they mentioned something about by getting a Sonos subwoofer I would get a true 5.1 surround sound. Can I use my own subwoofer and get the same thing as Sonos sub. ?

Can I use my ROKU with gen.2
Yeah, the Roku would plug into the tv. Beam will play the audio that the tv sends it.

Hello, I want to buy a turntable to use with my Sonos speakers around my house. I will need to buy the turntable and buy a Port or the Amp? And a preamp or no preamp turntable? I know the Amp works w/ wiredspeakers. Thanks.
Yeah depends on what you want. Port is nice just as a "line in" for the turntable to send it to other speakers around the home. If you're wanting to listen in that room where the turntable is Amp is nice with a pair of speakers. You can also line into a Sonos Five with a 3.5mm jack.
Most turntable do require a preamp. Especially older ones. Some of the newer ones have them built in. It's really a case by base scenario.
