Hi, and thank you for your question! It depends what you mean by "regular" Sonos speakers. You can stereo pair like-for-like speakers. The only exception is One and One SL. One and One SL can be stereo paired together. Other than that, you would have to have x2 of the exact same Sonos speaker.
Out of the two speakers neither are better than the other. Acoustically, they're exactly the same. The only difference is that the Sonos One has voice mics built in for Alexa, and Google Assistant, where the One SL does not.
