Is this a laptop or an ideapad? What is the difference in the two? My son's want a laptop that they can play terraria on, would this one work?

There will not be a 1TB SSD version of the Yoga 920-14. You can get a USB to ethernet adapter at Best Buy.com that will work with the Yoga 920.

I want to know if I can unscrew the bottom of the computer and switch out the hard drive as I would like to run a linux operating system on this computer, because a computer running 2GB of memory on windows sucks.

This model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty.

No, there is no broadband capability within this model.
