I brought this new laptop yesterday, but it seems it has battery problem, its battery is not going beyond 5-6%. I am charging it since it brought. Also in specification it shows 3 cell battery separately. Now it looks like it doesnt have battery in it

Batteries should not be allowed to discharge below 10% Being a new product your discharge occurred due to being in transit to you. Make sure the device is completely turned off not in sleep mode. Resetting the battery can solve the problem. Allow the battery to discharge fully and then charge back up. The re-charge process may take many hours and may not seem to proceed as it should, but give it time. With luck, your battery will suddenly register a 100% charge and your troubles are solved.

Is it possible to disable Windows updates? I want to use this for scientific monitoring and having the machine stop for updates would be a big problem.

Yes, you can turn off automatic update for your system. Click on the magnifying glass icon on the Windows 10 desktop at the bottom left. Type "turn off automatic updates" in the search window. Click on "Turn off automatic updates" in the list of choices. Follow the instructions to turn off automatic updates. You will still get a notice when there is an update for your system. You will get to the time when the update occurs. Be sure to create a restore point before you allow the update in case there are issues with the update.

I could not find information regarding the number of speakers and the sound card installed on this unit. Any information on sound quality would be helpful.

There are two 1.5w stereo speakers within this system. There is also Audio by Harman audio equalization software on this device.
