what does SLR stand for on cameras?
SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex.
That is there is a single lens and a mirror or prism that is referred to as a Reflex that reflects what is seen through the lens to the view finder. This allows the photographer to see exactly what is seen through the lens. Then the mirror/prism flips out of the way when the shutter button is pushed allowing the image to imprint on the film or digital sensor.

Measure from the bottom left corner to the upper right corner. The traditional way.

aditional lnse for Nikon D3000
I own a Nikon D3000 that came with a DX 18-55M lens.
I am happy with it but would like to upgrade the lense.
Is the Nikon 55 - 200m Vibration Reduction lense a significant upgrade? Will I notice an improved photo quality?

Yes..you will notice more versatility..better depth of field (DOF) and the stabilization on the lens will help with the long zoom of the 200mm.

Is there a camcorder that exports the picture live out the A/V while recording?
Am trying to find a small camcorder that will show the on-screen recording through RCA plugs while recording. Got any suggestions?
Most all camcorder show the video through the A/V Lines while in camera mode.
Then in VTR mode the Lines become Inputs during recording.

Sony camcorder not working...states re-insert tape which I did to no avail HELP
This is usually caused by the pinch rollers inside the camera not pulling the tape to the head. It will need to be serviced.

What is a good/cheapest DSLR camera that takes clear actions shots?
I have not ever bought a DSLR camera before because they are so pricey. However, I want to buy a camera that takes clear action shots and not blurry ones.
There are many entry level Digital-SLR cameras that will take good action shots. Some , Like Sony and some Olympus and Pentax, have image stabilization built into the camera body.
One of the tricks to action photos is a good lens. A zoom of 300mm or more and a f-stop of f/2.8 or f/1.8.
Another useful thing on the camera itself is a burst mode or 5fps (frames per second) or faster. This helps with continuous sequential shots.

what is 780p &1080p
720p is 1280×720 progressive scan. The number 720 stands for the 720 horizontal scan lines of display.
1080p is 1920×1080 progressive scan.
720p is still HD video...where 1080p if FULL HD.

Camera has a disc burner , but I need an external DVD drive
