How do I transfer video shot with my camera to dvd? Is it possible?

If the video was shot on a Digital Camera and not a Camcorder you can transfer it to your computer just like any other video file and burn a DvD using any compatible software. There may be some converting required, depending on the manufacturer and file type. You may not be happy with the quality of the finale product. Digital Cameras are designed to take photos primary and video is secondary. Higher end D-SLR Cameras, such as the Nikon D90, will shoot in HD. If this is a compact camera you might be disappointed with the end result.

Suggestion on what kind of dvd recorder to purchae

I recently purchased the Sony dr47 but then came home and have read horrible ratings on it. Everyone says that the picture quality is really poor.
I normally tape school functions, baseball games, family outings and holidays. Do you have any suggestions as to what would be better for me? What are the pros and cons of having a memory stick or taping straight to your interanl memory?
Some of the benefits of a memory stick based camcorder is that if you need more record time either get more memory sticks or bigger sticks. If there is repairers needed to do on the camcorder the memory and footage stay with you. The memory based camcorders are smaller and lighter than the DvD and Hard Drive based systems.
If you already have a DvD recorder deck, one that you would use to record TV shows, you can also use it to record footage from the camcorder. Just connect to the A/V (Audio Video) inputs of the deck with the cables that come with the camcorder. This will work with both SD and HD, however the HD will be recorded in Standard Definition. If the DvD player is a Blu-ray, you can copy the AVCHD video file from the camcorder to your computer and burn it directly to a disk (if the computer has a DvD Burner) and play the disk on a Blu-ray player in HD.

Need a camera that will accept a quality mic. in.

Most consumer grade camcorders do not have a mic input included, although that is starting to change. Many of the pro-sumer camcorder do have a mic input, usually 1/8” stereo jack.
If you are looking to use XLR connectors you can get a XLR to 1/8” converter that will allow you to use both balanced and unbalanced pro mics.
To look at pro-sumer camcorders go to www.bestbuybusiness.com
For converters search for XLR to 1/8” adapters or converters.

need a hdd camcorder + dvd burner for lap top

what would be the best? do any come together?
Panasonic used to have a HD Camcorder that included a USB DvD Burner but I believe that has been discontinued. You can add a external DvD Burner to your laptop with a Sony DVDIRECT EXPRESS found here :

There are several models available to choose from.

Can you transfer a video that was on a videocasette to a DVD?

You can connect the Videocassette play directly to a standalone DvD Recorder and copy the video that way. Assuming it is not copyrighted material. You can also get the Dazzle from Pinnacle and connect to your computer and burn DvDs using the burner if your computer has one. More information on the Dazzle can be found here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...

camcorder

i have a sony dcr-dvd108 i need the cable that go from the camcorder to the tv
This A/V cable is different than other Sony A/V cables in that it includes a S-Video connection and uses a different connection to the camcorder body. You can check with the Geek Squad and see if one can be ordered into your nearest BestBuy.

which cameras have the color accent feature

It is more common on upper end Canon Cameras (Compact and Advanced) and there may be some Sony and Casio cameras that have that feature.
The same effect can also be achieved in photo programs like Adobe Photoshop.

How can I tell how far out a camera can zoom?

I will be taking pics of home interiors and need a camera that will zoom out pretty far
It's not so much how far you can zoom out as in the ability to have a Wide Angle. This will show the rooms better than just zooming out. Look for cameras that list Wide Angle Lens. Panasonic and Olympus have several models with this feature.

Best camcorder for viewing in slow speed?

What would be a good camcorder to buy which has a fast speed? I want to record fast moving things so I can slow them down and see them in a very slow speed. Thank you.
Some consumer grade camcorders at best shoot in 60fps (Frames Per Second) which would do OK slow motion. If your wanting to do something along the lines of the Time Warp TV show you would need 1000fps and higher. That's not available at the consumers level camera. Casio is looking at producing some 1000 fps cameras.
