Photo Enlarging

Which camera's would be best for printing bigger pictures, like an 8 x 10?
A Digital -SLR will give you the best enlargements. A compact's sensor is a little bigger than the size of the eraser on the end of a pencil compared to the sensor on a D-SLR that is bigger than a nickel (both are square of course). Also the more megapixels you have the better the enlargements. This will also allow you to crop out unwanted areas in the photo and still keep a high enough quality photo to enlarge.
If you have a 10 megapixel and crop out 20% of the image you still have a 8 megapixel image left for enlargement.

What camera is good for my 70 year old mother?

If she has not had a digital camera before you may want to get her a camera that is uncomplicated and has image stabilization to help until she is used to how to hold the camera for a steady shot. Olympus, Panasonic and Sony all have rugged, easy to use compact cameras that have very good image stabilization features.

Can you copy video from a High Def Camcorder to a DVD that will play on a standard DVD player?

Well....yes..kinda...sorta. You can play the video from the camcorder out to the DvD recorder but it will step down to SD (Standard Definition) quality. If your Camcorder is recording in AVCHD..and..you copy the file to the computer and burn a DvD with the file on it, that DvD should play on a Blue Ray DvD player in HD.

Im looking for a camcorder that also allows me to take digital photos any recommendations ?

Almost ALL Camcorders take photos (look on top of the camcorder for a photo button). Keep in mind that the quality will not be as good as a Compact digital camera will take. Some Camcorders are as high as 5 megapixel. Generally they are only 1-2 megapixel.

Is there a digital camera that records videos that can be uploaded?

Is there a digital camera that records videos that can be uploaded? which is the best?
Many of the compact digital cameras have a Video and Audio recording function. These are of limited quality but still surprisingly good, mostly of a quality with uploading as e-mail attachment in mind. Some models can record at 30fps (frames per second). There are far too many cameras to list here. Stop by your nearest BestBuy and ask to see the compact cameras with A/V (Audio Video) recording mode.

MY CANNON P/S300 SCREEN

WON'T SHOW AN IMAGE AND THE SCREEN IS BLACK OR GRAY. I'VE HAD THE CAMERA FOR 2 YEARS AND DOWNLOADED THEM FROM MY NEW DELL COMPUTER AND THIS IS WHEN IT STARTED. I'VE DOWNLOADED THEM TO MY OLD EMACHINE AND NEVER HAD TROUBLE. IT TOLD ME TYO CHANGE THE BATTERIES,I DID THIS TTWICE AND STILL NO PICTURE. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?? A GIRL FROM OFFICE DEPOT SAID THE SCREEN IS SHOT AND TIME TO REPLACE A 2 YEAR OLD CAMERA!!!
It would be best for your to stop by your nearest BestBuy and let the Geek Squad take a look at it. They will advise what would be best to do. Sometimes replacing is more cost effective than repairing.

I purchased a Kodak EashShare w/printer. Camera broke. In order to use printer must I buy camera w/direct print capability only?

Without knowing the exact model of printer it is hard to say. All most All cameras have PictBridge which should connect directly from the camera to your printer IF the printer has a USB input. Also your printer may have a card reader slot, if so, you can take the memory from a camera and print straight from the it.

Which camera for musical bands in nightclubs?

I want to take pictures of musical bands that play in nightclubs. This means standing in a darkened room with the flashy lights on stage and action shots of musicians. Any suggestions? :-)
A Digital-SLR would be a good choice. When it comes to stage and nightclub photography your dealing with low, unpredictable lighting conditions. You'll need control over things like shutter speed (how fast the shutter clicks), aperture (how much light is let in) and ISO (how sensitive the sensor is to light). A D-SLR would be best in that you can get MORE of these settings and you can change lenses to more light gathering lenses (f/2.8 or better) and ones with more zoom factor (up to 300mm or more). Canon, Olympus, Nikon and Sony all have great entry level D-SLRs up to Professional models. Go to your nearest BestBuy and take a look the cameras and lens options..

optical/digital

I am looking at a camera that does 10x optical/20x digital. What does the optical and digital stand for.... it is confusing.
Optical Zoom is like using a magnifying glass. To enlarge what you are looking at you move the glass closer to make the image seem bigger. Digital zoom is like ENLARGEING the subject and this will cause jagged edges and distortions. The highest Optical Zoom is always the best to look for.
