i'm looking for a camera with rotating LCD or lens

hi like the title suggests, i'm looking for a digital camera (hopefully point-and-shot) with a rotating LCD or lens, which would allow me to look at myself being pictured when i take the picture.
can you give me a list of recommended cameras?
thank you very much.
Canon and Kodak are the only manufactures I have found with this feature. Search for "swivel screen" cameras in Google to see results.

Digital Camera Auto-Shut-off

I have 3 digital cameras, all older models. One of the biggest annoyances with them is I get the camera set up for a special shot, such as my kids in the program at school in the gym/cafeteria, & before they say their bit, the camera auto shuts off, and I miss the shot because I have to turn it back on & reset every setting. So I either fill up the card with junk photos to keep it from cutting off, or I scramble to get it set up, usually in the dark, before the special shot I want. Are there digital cameras out now that allow you to turn off the auto-shut off setting, or change it to a longer setting, or to set up the camera for special shots & save that setting, & have the saved setting carry across a shut-down & turn-back-on?
Almost all cameras have an area in the menu that allows you to set the sleep time and/or turn off the sleep function of the camera. Look in the menu area of your camera, especially any area that looks like a “wrench” icon, this usually indicates “settings”. Some cameras call it “Sleep” some may call it “Power Off” or “Power Save” they all do the same thing. Not all will turn the function completely off, some may just extend the time before shut down. You can also work around this by just occasionally lightly touching the shutter release button to keep the camera awake. You don't have to take a picture to keep the camera awake.

Is there is a hard drive on a camera that may hold lost or deleted photos from a memory card?

my friend took some great pictures yesterday and wanted to download them from the camera onto a cd. well...when she downloaded them she had it on the E drive; however, she had no cd in the cd drive. after the pictures were downloaded on the computer...we were unable to find them and think she downloaded to no where. for some reason...her camera is set up as to automatically delete the picture after it is downloaded on to the computer. we were wondering if there is any hard drive on the camera like on a computer that can may be be accessed to pull up some lost pictures that had been deleting from the memory card???
I know how upsetting it is to loose photos. Not sure if there is a way to recover theses lost images off the camera. As to where they may have been transferrers on the computer...try doing a search. Sometimes when items are transferred without a set download area it can send to a default place. Try this. Look at the way the previous file were named, the last image numbers the camera takes. Then do a search on the computer for a similar file name adding a “*” as the last number. Like this IMG_123*. This should bring up the last series of photos in that sequence where ever it is on the computer. Hope this helps.

Sony syber-shot DSC vs. a Nikon or a Canon SLR?

I am about to go to college to major in art next year. I would like a high quality camera to use for both photography and to take very detailed pictures for drawing off of in art class. I cant afford to buy a camera over $600 to $700. I here that Nikon or Canon are the best choices but is that really true?
Nikon and Canon are pretty much the top two manufactures of D-SLR cameras. So you can not go wrong with either. There is the Nikon D40 and D40x that are great choices. The Canon XT and XTi are solid, reliable cameras. There is also the Olympus e-410 & e-510 (the e-510 has two lenses). Sony recently added the a200 (which I just bought) and it has great features that would normally be found on much higher end cameras, including steady shot (helpful when taking photos of art work). All these manufactures have cameras that are under the 600 mark.

Best Manual Focus Hard Drive HD Camcorder?

Manual focus is a feature that is being found on fewer camcorders these days. JVC, Panasonic and Sony have a few models that have manual focus. Some of the Sony models have on screen “touch” a focus function where you touch the subject on screen that you want to focus on. Stop by your nearest BestBuy and give on a try.

which camera is good for nightvision

i want to buy a camera with night vision and and be able to save in a memory card what camera is good for me?
The Sony HDR-CX7 is a HD camcorder with Super NightShot capability and records to Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo media (not included). It uses the AVCHD file format to record DH (High Definition) and can also record in SD (Standard Definition). Take a look at it at your nearest BestBuy or on line.

new digital camera user

Iam buying the least expensive digital camera to post items on craiglist-ebay what do you suggest and when you buy it will it come with charger battery, memory card all included also want to be able to burn pics on cd from camera
Generally all cameras come with a battery and charger. Some cameras have some internal memory, very few come with a memory card included. Depending on if you need detail photos (close up shots) an advanced digital camera would be better for detail and control than a compact digital. Canon, Fujifilm, and Kodak have several advanced models. A Digital-SLR would be the best for quality and detail.

dvd VS minidv

want to know advantages or diadvantages of mini dv camcorder-dvd camcorder
Just SOME of the plus and minuses.
Advantages of miniDV: Longer record time. Easily transferable to computer for editing. Inexpensive media. Reusable, can be erased and used again.
Disadvantages of miniDV: Magnetic fields could erase footage
Advantages of DVD: Smaller media, takes up less physical space. Cannot be accidentally erased.
Disadvantages of DVD: Shorter record time. Scratches could cause record and playback problems.

Best Digital Camcorder for Close-Ups?

I want to take ultra sharp close-up videos of small opals to post for sale on eBay. Which is the best and least expensive digital camcorder that will allow me to take ultra close-ups with manual focus? Also, which is the best light source to use for illuminating small objects for close-up video purposes? Thanks!
Well..lets address the lighting first. A light box would be best for even lighting. These are designed for product photography. There are several pre-built boxes and Do-it-Yourself plans available on-line. Next. Camcorders seldom come with manual focus rings. Unless you are needing motion, a camcorder would not give you good detailed photos. I would suggest a Digital-SLR, this would be best for the quality you would need for eBay.
