When doing a price match question regarding digital camera.
I am interested in the Canon PowerShot SD750 Digital Elph. I see that it is NOT on sale at Best Buy, but it is on sale at the competitor's retail store. How would I present the proof on the lower price to get the competitor's sale price if the camera is not on the retailer's ad? How many forms of payment may I use on one purchase? I have two Best Buy gift cards and a Visa gift card that I would like to use on the purchase of this camera.
The customer can do of the following things. First, have the Best Buy store call the competitor and verify the price and in-stock. This would be the simplest option if the store is willing to do it. (Stores are not required to do this per SOP) The second option would be buying the product and providing Best Buy with a copy of the receipt. The customer would then have to return the item and the competitor.
The price match policy does state the following:
If you’re about to make a purchase and discover a lower advertised price offered by a local retail competitor on the same available brand and model, let us know and we’ll match that price on the spot. Already bought? We’ll refund you the price difference from our own sale price, or 110% of the difference from our competitor’s sales price, up to 30 days after your purchase (14 days on select categories, 60 days for HDTV’s purchased from 6/3/07 though 2/2/08). Either way, simply bring in proof of the price while that lower price is still in effect.
The customer may use up to 5 credit cards per purchase and as many gift cards as they have.
