Difference between point and shoots and SLR cameras???
Iam trying to debate to spend less with a point and shoot and still get great pics or upgrade and spend a bit more with the SLR??????
Iam looking for really good zoom, really good pic quality (megapixels) and the ability to take mutiple action shots in a row.....
Any Advice???
The term "Point - and - Shoot" simply implies that there is little thought to the operation of the camera other than pointing it at your subject and pushing the button. Compact cameras are that way, little to no manual control.
A Digital-SLR camera can also be a "Point - and - Shoot" camera. It also has a Full Auto mode where it makes all the decisions for the photographer except composition of the shot, plus can be manual when needed.
Just some of the big benefits of a Digital-SLR over the Compact Camera is:
Much larger sensor (3 times larger or more) giving a sharper, more colorful image that can be enlarged much better.
Almost Unlimited optical zoom by different lenses and attachments.
Full manual control for total creative control.
...and much more.
Cost of entry level Digital-SLR cameras are now not much more than a high end Compact and the final image is far better.
