I bought my daughter a blueray player, but the HD tv I'm hooking it to is old and does not have an HDMI port. Can I get an adapter to hook it up with an HDMI cable
If the HDTV is one of the older ones that has a DVI connection you can get a HDMI to DVI cable. Another option is to use the RGB component output from the Blu-Ray to connect to the RGB Component inputs of the TV.

You can add a EOS Extender at 1.4x or 2.0x. The 2.0x would basically make your 75-300mm a 150-600mm. It would be best to search your camera and lens for compatibility.

You could use a VGA cable if your HDTV has a VGA input. This will allow you to connect the TV to the laptop as a second monitor and extend the work area into the TV.

It appears there has been several models that have been having playback problems with Avatar...and not just Samsung models. The best thing is to check with the Samsung site for the firmware update and let them know that this model is also having errors. It looks like Samsung is trying to get the updates released quickly as reports of issues come in.
DSLR or Digital-SLR refers to a digital version of a Single Lens Reflex camera. Based on the older 35mm film cameras there is a sensor where the frame of the film would traditional be. There are many models that now have a video mode that allows HD video recording.
