or in other words, is it possible to watch tv with my broadband connection, without cable?

Is there any region restriction for Blu ray player and/or blu ray films? Thanks in advance for the answer.

Eg: HTIB bought in USA can play blu ray films sold in Europe or somewhere else?
Region codes for Blu-Ray disks are different from DvD codes.
DvD codes are numeric.
Blue-Ray codes are simply A,B and C. Currently:
A includes mostly North, Central and South American and Southeast Asian countries plus Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.
B includes most of Europe, African and southwest Asian countries plus Australia and New Zealand.
C contains the remaining central and south Asian countries plus China and Russia.

HDMI connection

I have a Sony 42" WEGA bought in 2004 that does not have an HDMI connection port which I would need for a Blue Ray DVD player. Is there an adapter that allows you to connect an HDMI device using component connections that results in the same quality as an HDMI?
Quite a few of the Blu-Ray players have RGB component out that you should be able to use to connect to your Sony.
Of course HDMI would be best but you can use the RGB outputs and get acceptable results.

What is the best way to hang and position a 3D TV?

Do i mount it or leave it on the stand and how for from the couch should it be? Its a samsung 46inch 7000 led 3d tv.
Mounting or Stand display really wont matter much.
As to distance from the screen for best viewing...that's a little trickier.
When it comes to 3D viewing there is what is called a 3D Comfort Zone. It is where the left and right eye are within an acceptable range to the screen to be able to fuse the left and right images into a 3d image. This can vary based upon several factors...of course screen size is one. The closer to the screen the more the feeling of submersion into the 3D effect. Too close and the 3D fusing is less apparent.
Once you have your TV set up it would be best to experiment with seating arrangement.
Everyone's eyes are just a little different...what works well for one might not work as well for another.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERANANCE IN A LED TV AND THE LCD TV WHICH IS THE BEST??

Indication is that LED TVs can have better contrast in dark areas in the picture. This can be a good thing.
As for power consumption, LED is considerably higher than LCD TVs ... LED can be almost as high as Plasma TVs. Not such a good thing.

what camcorder can i use with tapes that are Hi8 8mm

Many of the Digital 8 camcorders will also play back 8mm and Hi8 tapes. Unfortunately Digital 8 equipment is no longer being made.
You might still be able to find one used online. Make sure it has 8mm and Hi8 play back. Sony is usually the most compatible.

what is the optical zoom of canon rebel SXi?

The camera body itself has no zoom capability...it is the lens added to the body that does the zoom. For a SLR Lens to be a "ZOOM" lens it must be variable ..like ...70-200mm. Lenses with only one set of numbers are prime lenses and are of just one magnification.
These lenses can be as small as 10mm to as high as 1500mm and more, some variable.
The lens that most commonly ships with the Canon XSi is a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens.
