What is "Blue-Ray"?

Blu-Ray is a high capacity disk that stores 50GB and higher of data. Due to this High capacity a HD movie can be stored in full 1080p resolution uncompressed.
The term Blu-Ray refers to the color of the laser..to quote the Sony site:
"It is called Blu-ray because the laser that is used to write and read data is blue instead of red or infrared which is used for CD and DVD. It is spelt Blu instead of Blue because by law daily-used name cannot be registered as a trademark. "

whats the difference between 1080p and 720p? Would the 720p be just as good?

HD TVs that are 1080p have a 1,920x1080 pixels resolution.
720p HD can be at 1,366x768, 1,280x720, or 1,024x768 but all are commonly referred to as 720p.
The larger the screen the more noticeable the difference between a 1080p vs 720p at a close distance to the screen.
Smaller screens like 19" to 26" are more commonly found in the 720p resolution.
When it comes to LARGE screens it is better to go with 1080p...if budget allows.

Camcorder

I need a Mac Compatible camcorder that is reasonable and easy to use; what do you think about the flip? This would also be for taking pictures for my web-site?
The Flip MinoHD has a reputation of being Mac friendly. Also user/owners reviews are general good regarding Flip camcorders.
However...the Flip does not take Photos. Using the software you can capture a single frame of footage to use as a still.

Will damage to a LCD screen show up two months later?

Say the screen of an LCD TV gets hit by a ball and the screen does not show any damage at that time. Is it possible that damage that showed up two months later was caused by said ball? Or does a LCD show damage right away?
Very interesting question....hmmm.
Well the best person to ask that question to would be a repair tech. Contact the service department of the manufacturer of the TV and ask if an impact could weaken the Liquid in the LCD cell that would begin to show damage over an extended time frame.

How do I connect my Cable?

I have a panasonic Viera 32" flat screen but it doesn't have the connection on the back for my regular coax cable. How can I connect my cable without using a cable box or VCR?
There are many Panasonic Viera 32" modles.
If there is a Antenna Cable In connector on the back and it is not the standard threaded coaxial cable type it is most likely a RCA type connector.
You can get a adapter for your cable to change it to RCA male connector.
If there is NO Antenna Cable In connector than it my be HD capable and have no tuner built into the unit. In this case you will need either a top box or run A/V (Audio Video) cables from you cable/VHS to the TV.

Remote transfer/charge cord

I have a Harmony 700 and need a new transfer/charge cord. Do you sell these? Thanks.
The Harmony 700 should use a standard mini USB cable. There is a universal replacement cable available at your nearest BestBuy.
Take the unit with you to make sure of proper fit.

Is the Casio Exilim EX-FS10 a good camera (accept recommendations)?

I'm looking a digital camera with fast shooting. Currently owned an old Sony one but is so slow in between taking a picture and being able to take others afterward. I read the specification for the Casio which indicates 30 shot-per-second high-speed burst shooting (6 MP images). Is that good or what is recommended. Prices lower than $200.
The Casio Exilim EX-FS10 looks to be a good choice. The burst mode is very impressive for that level of camera.

How many HDMI cables would i need?

I have a 55' samsung led 1080p tv, a surround sound system( onkyo ht-s6200) , xbox 360, cable box with HD channels, and a blu ray player. I plan on running all with HDMI cables. How many would I need? Also which would be the best to buy? Monster cables I have always thought were the best. Kinda new to this... would i hook it all up to the reciever? Help.
If the TV is the one with 4 HDMI inputs and the items you listed ...xbox (HDMI?) ...cable HD...and Blu-Ray...you should only need 3 HDMI cable.
If the Surround Sound System accepts HDMI and there is 3 or more inputs you will need 4 HDMI cables.
3 to feed the Surround Sound system and 1 to feed the TV from the Surround Sound System.

Depending on the type of connector on the TV it can be either a DVI cable or VGA cable.
The most common is the VGA cable.

Products from my answer
Dynex - 4' VGA Cable - Multi

Dynex - 6' DVI-to-VGA Cable - Black
4.2 out of 5(43)

Will the UV Rays from the sun damage my LCD Flat screen after prolonged exposer ?

UV rays are harmful to most everything. There is some indications that it can be bad for LCD screens and the protective coating on the screen.
Just play it safe...if you can it would be best to keep it out of direct sunlight.
P.S.
It's also easier to see the screen that way too. :)
