What camera fits my criteria?

I'm looking for a camera that has 10+ mp and has a zoom equal to or greater than 4x. I want it to have a burst mode so I can capture multiple shots in a few seconds and a macro setting so that I can take detailed up-close photos. Some features I'd LOVE it to have are a panoramic option and a smile shutter, but these arn't necessary. Most importantly, I want it to be compact so that it is easy to carry in a pocket while backpacking.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 would probably fit most everything you are looking for. The 10x optical zoom will be much more helpful than a 4x for nature shots. The Carl Zeiss lens will deliver sharp images.

which lens

I am a amateur and just bought a nikon D3000. I want to take mostly close up nature shots. which lens should i buy? I dont want to go anywhere past $350
A good start would be the 55-200mm Image Stabilized lens. That will help you get close shots of your subject from a distance.

Optical zoom vs digital zoom

Which of theses is more important when buying a new camera?
Optical is VERY important when looking at a camera. The higher the optical the clearer and less jagged the image will be during tight zoom.

which lens to use.

I have a canon rebel degital camera, and I want to know which lens to use to take family potraits, and good pictures in a wedding.
The 18-85mm is a very good lens for wide angle to portrait shooting and creative shots. You might also want a 75-300mm lens for more zoom for distance shoots when you cant get close to your subject.

Canon - EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens - Black

nikon d 5000...can I use to shoot video for long periods of time?

Had this camera for a year and still can NOT figure out how to get in video mode. Now I need to shoot sports video of say 2 hours and I have no idea if I should continue to try to figure out the d5000 video mode or go buy a 'real' video camera? HELP!
To record video, the camera must be in Live View mode, then the small OK button on the right side of the camera begins video recording. The camera cannot auto focus while video is being recorded so you must manual focus during video recording.
You must also use SDHC memory to record video and the video recorded is at 24fps.
This type of camera probably would not be the best choice for recording a 2 hour sports event. Continuous shoot like that would be best on a actual video camera.

Fast camera to capture a baby on the move?

Any of the entry level Digital-SLR cameras will work well. Get a zoom lens of around 200mm so you can get shots from a distance with out attracting the baby's attention for more candid shots.
Shooting in burst mode for sequence photos will get interesting results.

I have a new Panasonic HS250, how do I find a wireless microphone for it?

The Panasonic HS250 dos not have a external Mic input so there would not be a way to attach a wireless Mic receiver. The TM300 and HS300 have a external Mic input.

Why are Cannon lenses so light compared to Nikon? are they not using glass anymore?

Interesting question.
Photographic Lenses to the best of my knowledge are always and will always be glass. Plastic just does not the clarity for photographic lenses and the plastic is too easily scratched.
The body of the lens could be a lighter alloy or possibly plastic on some lenses.
The density of the glass could also be lighter.

What to look for on camera

How do I find a camcorder that you can watch frame by frame.
Most camcorders allow you to select what record mode to capture in. By selecting frame recording the video can be advanced at one frame at a time and the still frames have much less motion blur in them.

Would the lens from a Nikon N80 fit on a D5000?

There are some issues between some G series, D series and N and F series lenses. Follow this like for some more information:

You might have to contact Nikon directly. Nikon lenses are not as easily compatible as Canon and Sony/Minolta.
