What is the difference between a "telephoto" lens and a "zoom" lens?

Generally a Telephoto Lens is a fixed long focal length lens such as a 200mm or 300mm and larger.
A Zoom lens is a variable focal length lens that has a range that can be adjusted from a low end ...35-70mm...to a high zoom of 200 or 300mm.

only a Christmas deal?

What happened to the Canon - EOS Digital Rebel T1i package where you could get the 18-55mm lens and the 200mm lens?
Bundled packages rotate quite often. The current package like that is for the Canon XS.

I’m interested in finding a camcorder that is good with normal indoor lighting.

I want to capture video of my young son and am not as concerned with the resolution. What indicates the camcorder’s ability to capture images with low light?
That is usually listed under the LUX rating. That is the sensitivity to light. The lower the number the more light sensitive.
You might have to look at the specs about a camcorder at the manufactures site to fine this information.

I'm looking for a wide conversion lens, DMW-LW55 Lumix for my panasonic camera.

Are other brands of lenses compatible?
That would depend on the thread size of the conversion lens. If the thread size matches that of your lens it should work fine.

WOULD MY MEMORY CARD FIT

I BOUGHT A TOSHIBA T6600 LAPTOP AND IT HAS A SLOT FOR A MEMORY CARD IT LOOKS BIGGER THEN WHAT MY CARD IS ,IS THERE A ADAPTER SO I CAN USE THE CARD IN MY LAPTOP.
There may be a adapter for your memory but without knowing what type of memory it is it would be hard to suggest what to get.
You might want to get a Multi-Card reader. It can accept up to 25 types of memory medias.

Canon EOS 10s - Lens 35mm

I have a series of 35mm lens that I use on my canon eos 10s. If I upgrade to a body only Canon Rebel digital or higher ie 7D are these compatible with the new digital range
Some 35mm lenses can be used on a Digital-SLR body. Most work just fine however there is a conversion that happens on 35mm lenses used on digital bodies. The usual amount is 1.6x (APS-C size). For example a 70-300mm lens from a 35mm camera becomes a 112-480mm lens on a Digital-SLR.
Some cameras are rated at 35mmFF (Full Frame) which make them have no conversion factor.
The Rebel and the 7D are rated a APS-C size.

NIkon d5000 or nikon D90?

Which one is better for a new user for slr cameras?
For a beginner the D5000 would probably be a better choice. It has a few features...the tilt/swivel screen being just one..that will be helpful to the beginner. It is easier to use with less buttons and knobs, and slightly lighter than the D90 in weight.
The prices for the D5000 is also considerably less than the D90.
