What Canon lens would be best to capture pictures of far away ducks in sky or deer in field?
One of The best lenses for that would be a Canon 600mm. Very long focal range with built in stabilization.

Generally the battery type used is stated in the specifications area on the box or site. You will see there if a rechargeable battery is included or not.

Even thow the Sony DSC-HX1 looks like a D-SLR it is not a true D-SLR. It is really more of an advanced compact. Among many things, you will not be able to change lenses and the sensor is generally smaller than a true D-SLR.
The Nikon D5000 will give you more control and flexibility.

Suggestion for small DSLR for a beginner
Which camera would you recommend for a beginner? I would prefer a small DSLR?
Sony a300 is small D-SLR with lots of features.
Built in steady shot, live view, tilt screen, doubler...the list goes on...and on.

ARe all camcorders a digital camera as well?
Most camcorders have a "photo" button that allows the capture of a photo. The image is stored on the chosen record media ( hard drive, tape, memory card,..ect).
The image size is generally limited to the video cameras resolution and megapixel is smaller that an actual digital camera.

what camera cases will fit the canon powershot G11?
You probably wouldn't need a case large enough to carry a D-SLR size camera however this camera is slightly larger than a standard compact. The best thing would be to take the camera to your nearest BestBuy and test fit in a few cases.

If the camcorder has this shooting mode it will say night shot as either a menu option or physical switch on it somewhere.

Size lens cap for a Nikon D80 camera?
My wife lost the lens cap for her Nikon D80 camera. I see via Best Buy online that there are a number of different size lens caps for purchase. Any idea which one matches this camera?
You'll need to get one that fits the inner lens size. That number is usually marked on the lens on the inner area next to the glass as a ## with a circle and a / through it. Common sizes are: 46, 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72 and 77mm.
If it is the 18-135mm lens it might be filter size 67mm.
If it is the 18-55mm lens it could be the 52mm filter.
Lens caps follow the same size as the filters.

there was this commercial on tv with ashton cushur on it. he introduced this camera that was touch screen and u could write on it. do they sell it here? and does anyone know what it's called?
