Bose is the one to beat

Bose proves once again why they are the one with a target on their back. Build quality, function and sound quality are second to none on the Bose QC 35. As a background comparison, I have previously owned earbuds for the most part but I have had a pair of Monster DNA on-ear headphones for the past couple of years along with some Sennheiser over the ear wireless headphones that are connected to the PS4. So I have some history with large headphones and I have sampled the Beats headphones at the store.
Honestly, I've never had headphones that have as much range and clarity as the QC 35. During my review of these I played Rap, Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Country, EDM (techno for the older crowd), Acoustic rock, live concerts and Reggae! Every type of music I tried seemed suited to these headphones. The bass wasn't overwhelming like on other brands. Vocals were crisp and it seemed like I could hear instruments I never noticed before on the music. If you prefer more bass, it's easy enough to add. I went into my Google Music Player and adjusted the bass setting to max. It added the thump I wanted on some songs but it still didn't overpower everything else.
As far as build quality, these things are solid but lightweight. Material is primarily plastic but these do not feel cheap. The leather on the headphones is incredibly soft and comfortable against the skin. There is a small cushion on the inside top of the headband for further comfort. Yet these sit relatively close to the head for over the ear headphones which is nice. Bose was also nice enough to put a big R and L on the mesh inside the headphones so you know which way they go.
The headphones come nicely packaged. When you open the QC35 box you'll see a leather carrying case that is surprisingly small. When you open it you see why. Bose has found and created a specific way to fold these headphones to take up minimal space. Inside the carrying case is also a double prong airplane adapter. Airplane has a more modern jack? No problem, one of the prongs folds down to give you a single 90 degree adapter. Also in the case is a USB A/ USB B adapter to charge the headphones because the rechargeable battery is built in compared to prior models that ran on a AAA battery. If that concerns you, I can tell you that I have not charged these since I got them. When I first turned them on the voice told me they were at 70%. After about 2 hours of listening to music at a pretty good volume and also making some calls and trying out the different ways to connect them to my phone....I'm only at 60%. So I'm assuming that they drain in the 5% per hour range. I wasn't able to kill the battery but previous versions have allowed you to continue using the headphones, albeit not with as great of sound, once the battery was dead by using the included headphone wire.
Setup was simple. If you have a phone that is NFC enabled, just make sure NFC and Bluetooth are turned on, then tap the edge of right headphone against your phone. You'll hear a confirmation voice prompt and you're on your way. If you don't have NFC, the bluetooth setup is also easy. Just push the power button over to the right and it will activate the bluetooth scan before snapping back into the On position. My phone picked it up within seconds.
There are some other buttons on the headphones that used to be on an inline cable on previous iterations of the Quiet Comfort line. Volume Up and Down are on the back of the right earphone. They are separated by a multi-function button. This will pause music if hit once and also un-pause if you tap it again; skip to the next track if you double click it; and answer the incoming phone call if you have call audio enabled. There is also a built in microphone. I tested this feature and the audio was clear with no complaints on the other end about voice quality. One other quick note on phone calls, if a call comes in the music will automatically pause and automatically resume once the call is done or once you ignore the call.
If you work in an office cubicle environment that allows headphones or you travel a lot, these are remarkable. Even if you're not playing music, the active noise cancelling is a huge feature for me.
I'm not sure what else I can tell you about the Bose Quiet Comfort 35. If you've never owned a pair of Bose headphones and have been on the fence because you didn't want to use a wired connection to your phone or an inline mic for making calls, then here you go. If you've owned Bose, you know the quality.
These are, simply put, the best headphones I have ever put on my head and I would recommend these to anyone and everyone.

This router is a beast! Love it!

WOW! That about sums it up for this router! Prior to installing the Linksys EA9500 we were using the standard Fios router with WiFi (not the quantum gateway). The router was installed in a closet in the basement next to the Fios equipment. We would get good WiFi signal in the basement and on the first floor of the house. Going upstairs brought challenges because the WiFi would intermittently drop out and we would be lucky to get one bar in certain areas of the 2nd floor. Outside on the deck, maybe 1-2 bars. The house isn't huge at right around 2,000 sqft for the living area, so this gives you an idea of where we were starting from.
Flash forward to receiving and setting the EA9500 up. Setup was very easy. I plugged in the EA9500 and gave it a minute or so to boot up. Then I accessed the Fios router's settings and disabled WiFi. Connected a LAN cable from the router to the EA9500 and that was about it. I quickly accessed the new network using the password provided and using the Linksys Smart Wifi setup, was able to change the SSID and password to match the ones from the Fios router so we didn't have to change any of our devices. This worked like a charm and after a total setup time of about 10 minutes, everything was reconnected to the internet.
If there is one downside to the router, it's the size (this router weighs 4lbs and is around 12" x 12"). In order to accommodate the size, I installed a simple shelf in a corner utility closet in our basement to set this on. Once everything was set, I closed the closet door and ran the speed test on each level of the house. The picture below was from the furthest corner of the house, two floors up. It clocked 30mbps down and 27mbps up. Impressive considering our Fios plan is 25/25. There is not a single place in our home now, including the entire attached garage, that doesn't receive a full WiFi signal. I decided to see how far it goes, and I can say that I had to get about 20ft or so from the house before losing a bar. I went all the way to the other side of our neighbors house before I got to 1 bar and finally lost the signal.
We have had zero issues with dropped signals since installing this router and I believe that's due to the 3 channels this router employs. I also connected this to a Linksys RE7000 Max Range Extender (that I had to install in the garage to get this test to work). When I got far enough from the main router, it instantly and seamlessly connected me to the Range Extender for a better signal. So if you have a larger home or business and this router isn't enough to reach the farthest corners, I would highly recommend the addition of the RE7000. Note that the automatic switching feature only works with devices that are MU/MIMO capable but many newer devices are beginning to carry this tech so this router is somewhat future proof.
Overall, I would highly recommend this router to anyone who has a large home or odd placement of the router with coverage drop outs and multiple devices. Maybe you hate having your router in the living room and want to get it out of sight. It is not the cheapest router on the market but this is a case of getting what you pay for. The build quality is fantastic and the hardware is well ahead of it's competition (I won't list the specs, they're on the main product page). Bottom line...this is the best, consistent WiFi coverage I've ever had in my home in the 10+ years I've had a WiFi router.

Very nice beginner tablet or starter unit for kids

I didn't have a lot of expectations for this tablet. I've never owned anything by Acer and have always perceived it to be a lower quality item than comparable products. However, I was pleasantly surprised at this 8" tablet. It was an extremely fast set up (5min) and after a few minutes of clearing out the bloatware (there was a lot but some might want those apps) it was ready to go. Installing updates took a few minutes but the tablet was moving along while updates rolled in the background. Battery life has been average. Overnight it only lost 1% while sitting idle, which is good. But when playing a game like Plague it dropped by almost 20% in 20min or so of playing. Battery life on most devices like this tends to improve after the first few charge cycles and that game does use a lot of resources, so I'll give it an average mark. In normal operation, such as email, surfing the web or using various apps, it is quick, responsive and there is no lag.
Build quality appears to be solid but it's a little heavier than I would expect an 8" tablet to be in 2016. Screen resolution is solid but, again, this tablet wasn't meant to compete with the 4k displays out there. For the money, there might not be a better tablet out there. It comes with 16GB of memory, with about 9GB available. However, it has a MicroSD slot and I had no issues inserting a 32GB card into this machine. I did not test anything higher because the 96GB card I own is in my phone.
Overall, this is a great budget table for someone who is looking for something basic or as a gift for a child. There is a kid zone app that restricts the user to apps and games that are child focused included in the tablet. Also, a 30 day free subscription to Google Music was included at no cost. I would absolutely recommend this tablet to anyone looking for something basic without breaking the bank.

Made a 100% difference in my WiFi experience

We have fios in our home and the router is set up in a closet in the basement where it was installed. The signal in the basement and on the first floor has always been good and it even extends outside a bit. But when it came to upstairs, the signal would drop out unless you were in specific areas. Streaming movies on a Chromecast? No chance. Looking stuff up online? Better to just turn off WiFi and use 4G. That was until I received the Linksys Extender. It took me about 5 minutes total to set up and we now have full strength WiFi signal in the entire home and even further outside. It's connected at 130mbps, so it's not slow and I have had no issues with having to reset it or any of the other troubles that seem to have plagued older range extenders. If you have one of the newer Linksys routers, it should support the seamless transition when you go from using WiFi on your router to the extender. Without it, you'll have to manually switch over to the extender. Not a deal breaker for me considering the benefits and it only takes a few seconds to switch over. Very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone having issues with a drop in WiFi signal in part of their home.

I needed a separate fridge to keep in the basement to hold some beer so it wasn't all in the main fridge. The fridge works great, I got it on a price match with a competitor where it was $30 less, so this was only $15-20 more than the smallest fridge. I wish they would stop making these with that little freezer that is essentially useless. It just wastes space in the fridge. Without it, this would be perfect. As it stands, I can fit 30 regular bottles in the fridge along with 2 or 3 of the 750ml bottles in the door. I have seen reviews where people had trouble with the fridge working. Make sure you let it sit for 24 hours after you bring it home before plugging it in. Also, if you use an extension cord, go to a hardware store and get a heavy duty one. If it doesn't match the voltage and amperage rating, it won't turn out good. I hope this fridge keeps going for years because it's perfect for my needs.

These are two classic movies. The set includes both Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments. Seperately these movies are $20+ each. In this set, it was only $15 for both. If you've never seen either movie, they are classics that stand the test of time. Very happy to have these both on blu ray. My only complaint is that they couldn't fit them on 1 disc each. But since each movie is about 4 hours long, that's not a huge surprise.

I don't see why not. You TV has an HDMI (ARC) port and an optical audio output. Either method would work just fine. The HDMI (ARC) connection is preferred because it will have the soundbar turn on when the TV is turned on and off when you turn it off. It also allows the TV remote to control the soundbar level.
