Awesome vacuum, slight learning curve

I've had the Dyson Ball Multifloor 2 for a couple of weeks now and have used it sufficiently to give my real-world impressions. First off, although Dyson advertises this machine as being "light to maneuver" don't expect a lightweight machine. It weighs in at nearly 16 pounds and you will definitely feel that heft when hauling it up and down stairs. Second, this thing is *LOUD*! If you think you can do some cleaning without disturbing a sleeping baby or significant other, think again. Won't happen. Third, the "instant release" wand comes out like a breeze but it needs a bit of finessing to get properly back into place, but after a few uses it becomes second nature. Those are about the only nitpicking things I can say are wrong with this vacuum. The pros definitely outweigh them all with ease. I have owned many floor cleaning machines over the years and the suction and cleaning power of the Dyson is second to none. To test it out, I used my previous machine (another high-end brand) and went over a rug in our den. I then immediately went over the same rug with the Multifloor 2 and was amazed at how much dust, hair, lint and fibers were pulled up. I was convinced and my old machine went directly to the curb and I haven't looked back. The ball makes this machine turn on a dime and the relatively low height of the powerhead allows it to go under most pieces of furniture. It takes some getting use to the turning abilities of this machine but after a few minutes of use it almost feels like an extension of your body. The floating suction plate does a really good job of maintaining cleaning power when changing from one floor type to the other (like from tile to kitchen rug, etc.). Emptying the dust bin involves nothing more than pressing a button, and the whole dust bin assembly can be broken down for ease of cleaning. Another great benefit of this machine is the massively long cord. Unlike other machines I've owned, I can cover 99% of my 2500 square foot two-story home from just 2 outlets, one upstairs and one down, while I previously had to stop mid-cleaning on each floor to move the cord to another plug. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's just one more thing to not have to think about. Having a 5-year parts and labor warranty with lifetime support is another great benefit of buying a Dyson. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate any longer. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" is definitely true, and the Dyson Ball Multifloor 2 is well-worth it's substantial weight.

Good once its finally set up

The unboxing of the Velop is highly satisfying. The magnetically sealed box opens to reveal three shiny, new nodes just aching to expand your wifi coverage beyond your wildest dreams. That's where the excitement stopped for me. Although touted for ease of setup, my experience was far more complex. After downloading the iOS app (required for setup and what limited network management you can accomplish), I set out to get my mesh network up and running.
The first node was a little finicky, but after 20 minutes it was finally done and connected to the internet. For the next 3 hours, I tried in vain to install the other two nodes. Error codes abounded and hard resets were common. There are zero instructions included and the app is essentially worthless if you run into an issue. After several lengthy phone calls with tech support, it was determined the units were faulty in some way. (Each of the three nodes could be set up as the parent, but none could be added as children.) A replacement set arrived very quickly.
The second set had none of the issues of the first. Perhaps because these are so new, there are some initial quality control issues? Either way, the replacement units were up and running in 15 minutes or less. I placed the nodes where desired and set about to do some testing.
(NOTE: Before attempting to set up a node, plug it in and wait for the status light to turn solid purple/pink. Not doing so will cause you some serious frustration. Trust me. Red is bad. Trust me. Blue at the end of setup means you're good to go. Anything else means start over.)
As for actual speed, I cannot tell you what I'm getting as the app continually tells me an error has occurred and to try again later when attempting to use the built-in speed test. From a real-world standpoint, I get no buffering or lag issues even when multiple devices are streaming content simultaneously.
I also consistently get error messages when attempting to activate the device prioritization feature (which for some strange reason only permits you to select 3 devices). Basically, the "advanced" features of the app are relatively worthless. There is no access (from what I can ascertain) to network settings other than through the app, although CS indicated this may be forthcoming.
On the units themselves, you can connect 2 LAN devices to each child node, and 1 to the parent (the other ethernet port connects to your modem). USB ports are noticeably absent. This is a pretty major fail. No ability to add a NAS or non-wireless printer is a bummer for me. Still researching possible solutions for this. There is an integrated cable routing outlet which is a nice touch. Aesthetically, the nodes are attractive and blend in with their surroundings fairly well. The power adapters are huge and will not play well with others if using a surge protector.
Coverage is better than my prior router and range extender setup (Linksys EA9500 Max-Stream AC5400 Tri-band router coupled with a Max-stream AC1900 Wireless dual-band repeater that was less than a year old). All of the dead spots I used to have were gone, plus coverage extended away from the house far enough to reach the pool deck with enough signal and speed to stream Pandora, Spotify, etc. without buffering. Speeds and connectivity appear to remain consistent to near the edge of coverage. Thus, the magic of the mesh.
While I'm pleased with the end results of the network coverage, the major issues in setup, the lack of USB connectivity and the fact that the only administration for the system must be done via the app lead me to the 3 star rating. I really wanted to love this system and rate it higher, but in good conscience, I couldn't. I would tentatively recommend this to a friend, but only after a fairly lengthy conversation about its pros and cons.

Lives up to the hype

After 15 years of dedicated service, my beloved old coffee maker finally bit the dust, forcing me to find a replacement. I tried two or three, including the updated model of my old one, and was displeased with them all. Enter the Ninja Coffee Bar. From the unboxing to the first pot to several weeks of use, I continue to be impressed. Here's my impressions:
Initial setup is easy and intuitive. The instructions recommend you run two complete cleaning cycles before brewing the first pot of coffee. The cleaning cycle is automatic, requiring only the touch of a button. It does take over an hour to run, so be sure to allot for that if you are in a hurry for a cup of Joe. (This isn't explained in the instructions very well.)
After cleaning, just fill the removable water tank, swing out the basket, use the included and attached scoop to measure your desired amount of grounds (it only took a couple of trial pots to get the strength and flavor I like), press a button and wait a few short minutes for coffee-house style bliss.
Unlike every coffee maker I've ever owned, the Ninja made a great cup from the very first pot. Most have a weak flavor or off-taste until they get seasoned. Not so with the Ninja. It just makes good coffee.
I have only tried a couple of specialty coffees and it's quite obvious I'm not cut out to be a barista like Sofia Vergara is in the commercials. The flavor was excellent, but the presentation was a bit lacking. I attribute this totally to user error/impatience as I had a friend come over and made the best looking layered drink I'd ever seen from a home brewer. The built-in frother is easy to use, easy to clean and quickly stores away.
The ability to brew directly into a cup is a great feature. No pods, special filters or attachment changes required. A simple and intuitive turn of a knob and/or press of a button changes the brew size anywhere from espresso to full carafe. Super easy to use, the buttons and knob are decently sized and well-marked.
The Ninja's design aesthetic is bold and edgy without being over-the-top. (The unit is tall but it fits under a standard wall cabinet. The water tank requires very little space to remove and replace, but consider this if space is at a premium in your kitchen.) It is simple to use, as a coffee maker should be, belying it's advanced abilities. All in all, I've been quite impressed and would definitely recommend.
Even if you don't do specialty coffees, layered beverages, etc., the Ninja Coffee Bar is still worth a look because it just makes a great cup of coffee. Give it a try and I'm confident you won't be disappointed.
Note: This coffee maker uses cone filters instead of the basket-type, so if you don't already have them, be sure to pick some up. (It does come with a permanent filter if you like that sort of thing, but I have personally never enjoyed using them.)

Works for its intended purpose

The Audio + Charge Rockstar is a pretty good solution for a problem created by a certain fruit company when it removed the headphone jack--the inability to simultaneously charge your device and listen to music (unless, of course, you switch to Bluetooth headphones). With that said, this little dongle fills the gap and reinstates what was once a ubiquitous function of the device. It works flawlessly for the advertised purpose which is simply to permit simultaneous charging and audio listening through the Lightning port. Note that this adapter does not have the inability to pass-through data/sync, attach other adapters, etc. However, if you read the description, it is clear that none of these actions are supported by design. This is an audio-only dongle which lets you recharge your device. Period. If you want or need more, look elsewhere. But for what this product is intended to do, it just works. The length of the dongle is not too bad for "pocketability" although it does seem a bit larger than it could be if refined a little in future iterations. (Size is the only reason I knocked my rating down a star.) The male end does seem slightly more bulbous than on other cables/adapters I have so clearance might be a bit of an issue if your case doesn't have much clearance around the port. It works fine with my Otterbox Commuter. One last thing, make sure you are running iOS 10.x or you may run into some issues with recognition of the dongle.

Elegant solution for charging on the go

This Belkin power bank is a great solution for charging all of your Apple devices (and more) on the go. As with other Belkin products I own, this one is high-quality and sturdy. The magnetic dock for the Watch works flawlessly and the USB port allows charging of everything else. Being able to charge my phone and watch with the same battery pack without having to carry around dongles, stands or other accessories is a real help. The 6700 mAh capacity is sufficient to charge the phone and watch several times before having to refuel the pack which is another plus for extended trips away from reliable power sources or when you need to charge other accessories as well (headphones, tablets, etc.). The pack is a bit bigger than I expected but it's manageable and not a huge deal considering the upsides. The bulk is the only reason I didn't rate it a 5 (it's really a 4.5). A simple press of a button reveals a series of 4 LED's showing the charge state of the pack which makes it easy to know when you're getting low and need to recharge the pack which adds to the convenience and usability of this unit. While I've got numerous other portable battery packs, this Belkin has quickly become my go-to favorite.

Good trimmer with a few drawbacks

Overall, this little Norelco trimmer is a handy tool to have in your grooming arsenal. The biggest problem is that they seem to have designed it to be the only tool, but it falls short on a number of key points. The good first...decent battery life of one hour easily gets you through all your normal trimming needs for multiple sessions. Charging time vs. run time is basically a one to one ratio, so if you need a quick touch-up, a quick plug in should suffice. That's one of the downsides. This trimmer does not work when plugged into the wall...there's no bypass to the charging so if you're in a big hurry you are out of luck. Many of the included combs are flimsy and, in my estimation, worthless. The markings are small and difficult to read. The adjustments sometimes have a tendency to change when you put the combs back in the included bad, meaning you have to double (or triple) check to be sure the right setting is being used, lest you end up taking off a lot more than intended. The combs can move around a bit when attached if you aren't careful which again could lead to an oops moment. The precision and nose hair trimmer attachments work well so that's a plus. I have yet to venture into using the body shaver, but it appears to be decently designed, although it does seem to have trimmers on both sides so its usefulness may not be the best. The unit is relatively loud, especially when used around the ears, so nte this if you are sensitive to loud sounds. Overall, despite these shortcomings, the trimmer works well, seems to have no problems cutting through hair cleanly and without pulling. Cleanup is fairly easy as you can run water over it without fear of destroying it, but there is no included brush for touch-up or dry cleanings.

These replacement heads are a perfect fit for my Flexcare Platinum. Does not fit my wife's Oral B electric brush though. Definitely sized for an adult mouth. These brush heads make for a fantastically clean mouth! Feels like you just left the dentist. The price might be a bit high but they seem to last much longer than a traditional brush so I suppose it evens out over time. The additional cleanliness is worth the cost premium though.

Great toothbrush, ok companion app

First off, I love this toothbrush. After the very first use it made me feel like I'd just been to the dentist. There is a very short learning curve to get used to the subtle differences in vibration which are intended to let you know when to change to different areas of your mouth. The app has a timer and visual cues as to where you need to brush more. If you like techy stuff, this is a great thing to add to your morning and evening routines. The battery life seems really good so far but time will tell on that one. As for the companion app, it has some good information but could have a few more things to make it more useable. For instance, the toothbrush has a couple of different modes that can only be toggled on or off by pressing and holding two buttons on the handle while it is on the charger. These should be able to be switched using the app in my opinion. The instructions that come with the toothbrush leave quite a bit to be desired so it's a bit of trial and error to get it set up. Once that's done it's just a matter of powering on and taking off. Pairing is a breeze, at least with my iPhone 7. One thing to note for your first use...make sure your toothpaste is really on the head. Otherwise it will vibrate right off into the sink. Overall, I'm loving the clean feeling of my teeth and would definitely recommend!

Surprisingly powerful and easy to use

This little stick vac has been a great addition to my cleaning supplies collection. The battery charges in about 2-3 hours and seems to last forever. It has a surprising amount of power for a cordless vac. It's heavy enough to feel substantial but light enough to easily use on stairs. Clean up is a breeze with the slide handle so you don't have to worry about getting your hands dirty to empty the dust bin. The fold flat design is great for getting under furniture and the collapsible handle makes storage much easier. All in all a great value for the money. It won't replace your full sized vacuum but it does an admirable job between deep cleans or for picking up those random spills.

What you expect from Bose

The Soundlink is a fantastic little speaker. Lots of sound from a small package...just what you'd expect from Bose. Solid bass and soaring highs without distortion. Solidly built and rugged. The battery life is exceptional and I can easily get a full day by the pool with it and never miss a beat. Pairing is quick and simple with no disconnects at all. Overall a great speaker for the money.

Does this clean hard floor surfaces as well?
It will if you purchase the optional hard surface roller and nozzle. Using the carpet roller won't work as the brushes won't come into enough contact with hard surfaces to clean properly. The set comes with two bottles of multi-surface cleaner and is relatively inexpensive.

Only in the dark from my experience. Any ambient light overpowers the low light output of the projector unfortunately.

How does this system work without the monthly monitoring. Can I get alerts on my phone without the monitoring?
Essentially, without the monitoring you have little more than a noise-maker. You cannot get alerts on your phone or otherwise "self-monitor" the system. If no one is home when an alarm sounds, you will have no way of knowing it happened. If a bad guy comes in, your only hope is that the noise will scare him away.

I'm restating my former question in a more direct manner, concerning damage to BASEBOARDS and WOOD Furniture legs not wood floors, by the side bristles on the Roomba. Did the side bristles cause damage to these areas?
I've got the 690 and haven't noticed issues with the bristles harming my baseboards or furniture legs. I would assume the 877 has similar bristles. Damage is much more likely from direct strikes by the body of the machine.

Can i play music from my iphone
Yes, you can stream from any Bluetooth device directly to the system. It also is Google Cast enabled if that fits your needs.
