Decent portable projector

If you are looking for a budget-friendly projector for occasional use and aren’t looking for HD quality picture quality, this may be the unit fir you. Although it is advertised as having up to a 150” picture, I have found that to be grossly inaccurate. At more than about 80” the already low resolution becomes far too blurry to be watchable. Also, unless you’re in a dungeon, it is far too dim to be seen when placing it far enough away from your wall or screen to get that large of a picture. I had hoped to mount this in my garage to watch sports with the buddies but it simply won’t work for that purpose because all of the lights out there would have to be off to see anything on the screen. Plus, the more motion or action that’s being shown makes the blockiness of the picture even more noticeable. The built in speakers seem more like a gimmick than anything. The fan noise is loud enough it almost drowns out any sound coming from the speakers. The sound is very tinny and not very loud at all. On the plus side, hooking up a streaming device or phone (if iOS you’ll need a fairly expensive cable) is simple enough with the HDMI and USB ports. There is a headphone jack you can use to add external speakers (note the output is mono, not stereo). There is no Bluetooth capability so that’s your only option for more sound output. The remote is fairly intuitive and controls most features. The menus are easy to navigate and there are some rudimentary adjustments to be made. I have already relegated this projector to the kids toy room for them to use and I’m on the hunt for a higher quality unit with more brightness and resolution. For the price point though, this is a decent little projector that’s easily portable and is best suited to occasional use. I did use it at a horse show recently (using the side of the trailer as a screen and an external speaker for sound) and showed a movie for the kids. They loved it because it was something different they could enjoy together. That alone was worth the cost of admission. I would recommend this projector if you are aware of the limitations and are ok with them.

Decent sound, but connection issues hurt things

I really wanted to love the AU Stream headphones but they have left me disappointed. First, the good. The headphones themselves are light and comfortable. Like others on the market, the come with different sized tips to customize the fit for your ear. Once I found the right set, they were easy to put in and felt like they would stay put, even with moderate movement. The touch controls are intuitive and responsive once you figure them out. The ANC works well and doesn't have any noticeable hissing or white noise I generally associate with that feature. It does not seem to impact the sound quality in the least while blocking out ambient noise respectably. I like the small size of the charging case; it is easily slipped into a pocket and doesn't have a lot of extra unnecessary bulk. There is no charging block included so you have to provide your own. Battery life has been excellent so far. I use them with ANC on at a relatively high volume for several hours and have never had them run completely down on me. Overall sound quality is very good with sufficient bass (for earbuds) and no tinniness in the highs.
Now for the bad. Nearly every time I open the case to use these headphones, they simply will not connect. I have to go into settings, forget them, and re-pair them in order for them to work. Occasionally, only one bud will connect. It is extremely frustrating when I don't have these issues with other headphones I have. Also, sometimes during use, one or both buds will stop working fr a few seconds. Finally, the overall volume doesn't seem to be sufficient for my taste. They simply won't get loud enough when there is louder ambient noise (like a lawnmower), even with ANC on.
Unfortunately, the intermittent connection problems have kept me from being enthusiastic about the Streams or from being able to recommend them. Perhaps a future software update can fix the issue but until then, these won't be in my go-to pile of electronics.

Finally! I can now charge my phone and Surface at full speed at the same time from a single outlet. I travel quite a bit and having to lug around multiple charging bricks is a pain. The Belkin Boost Charge lets me take a single brick which saves space in my bag and more importantly lets me take up only a single plug. Getting 12 watts per port is a great bonus. While this brick is slightly bigger than my others, obviously it’s doing double duty so that’s to be expected. It still fits fine in the pouch of my tech backpack. Build quality is as you expect from Belkin, top notch. Get one. You won’t regret it.

I’ve been using the Jet 90 for a few weeks and have been thoroughly impressed. It is amazingly light compared to the cordless vacuum it replaced. The charging stand makes storage easy and keeps the battery charged so it’s ready to go anytime. You can also charge a second battery at the same time if you choose to buy one. So far I haven’t even thought about needing an additional battery because the run time is more than enough to finish the job. I typically run it between 15-20 minutes on the medium setting and have plenty of charge left. Obviously running it on max will take the total time down but I rarely use that setting as medium has plenty of suction. It can sometimes bog down on thick carpets but not so much that it’s a huge deal. The multiple included tools give you a lot of versatility but there is no onboard storage so you’ll have to find a place to put them all. Just be aware. Cleaning the dust cup is super easy and I really like that the center comes out so you can wipe down the metal mesh inner filter which is a big improvement over some others I’ve had. Finally, it is remarkably quiet for as much power as it has. I can vacuum without disturbing my light sleeping daughter.

Sleek but underpowered

I have been using the Quip Smart toothbrush for a week or so and have been moderately impressed, but I have some reservations. The sleek all-metal handle is easy to grip and not nearly as bulky as the electric toothbrush it replaced making it more comfortable to use and easier to pack while traveling. I like that it doesn’t have a rechargeable battery so that’s one less thing to worry about. It comes with a stand that sticks to most smooth surfaces as well as a brush head cover. Quip offers a subscription service that sends replacement heads and batteries on a regular schedule for $5 which seems reasonable; you can also add a tube of toothpaste for another $5. I sometimes tended to use my old brush heads for far too long as I just didn’t remember to replace them. Having them come automatically should be an easy way to jar the brain and fix that problem. The timed pauses in the sonic pulses help remind you to maintain proper brushing time in the four quadrants of the mouth to make sure each area gets the attention it deserves. The big downsides I’ve noticed are that the sonic vibrations aren’t nearly as strong as my old toothbrush which makes me sometimes feel as though my teeth aren’t getting completely clean. It sometimes just feels like a vibrating manual toothbrush. There also isn’t a pressure sensor or anything to let you know if you are using too much pressure and potentially harming the enamel on your teeth. While I really like the design and feel of the toothbrush itself, the seeming lack of cleaning power gives me pause, especially considering the offerings of other companies in this space.

De'Longhi All-In-One Combination Coffee and Espresso Machine

I have been using the De'Longhi combo machine for a few weeks now and am in love with it. Not only does it make a great cup of drip coffee, the cappuccino and espresso it produces are fantastic. I'm drinking a lot more coffee now because of this machine, so much so that I almost wish it was bigger than a 10-cup!
There are several features I really like and appreciate. The front load drawer for adding coffee and filling the water reservoir is a must-have for me as I have limited head room above the coffee maker because my cabinetry sits low on the wall. Although it comes with a gold "permanent" filter and the instructions seem to imply you must use it, I have found removing it and using standard paper cone filters works perfectly fine. You can adjust the length of time the "keep warm" function on the hot plate stays on to maintain the proper temperature to suit your needs.
The portafilter for the espresso side comes with interchangeable inserts for single or double pours and a third for use with E.S.E. pods if that's your thing. The water tank for that side is separate and, in my kitchen, unfortunately requires me to pull the machine out from under the cabinets to refill it. The good news there is that it holds enough water for several brews so it's not a huge issue.
The built-in frother/steamer works amazingly well and has plenty of steam to get the job done right. It is a bit loud, but that's not a deal-breaker for me. Just something to keep in mind. There is a basin to catch overflow or drips on the espresso side which has a tab that pops up when it gets full. Not only is it a clear visual indicator to empty it, the tab helps you remove the basin from the machine with ease.
The soft.touch buttons on the drip side can be touchy but after using the machine a couple of times you get the feel for it. The espresso side has a separate set of buttons to control the functions on that side and a knob on the side to control the steamer.
The only real downside I have found with this machine is that the clearance on the espresso side tends to be on the smaller side. My regular mugs fit, it just requires a bit of tipping and paying close attention. I can't just slide it under the portafilter unfortunately. And although the machine can technically brew and pour two espressos at a time, my mugs are too big to fit side by side in the limited space. Again, not a huge deal, especially since I tend to be the only one drinking anything from that side anyway.
One last thing, the De'Longhi customer service is spot on. I had an issue and reached out to them via email. Within two hours of that email, I was on the phone with a technician who helped me work through the problem with ease and professionalism. I was honestly expecting to wait a day or more as I have with other companies in the past, so this was a pleasant and quite unexpected surprise.

This Bella Pro air fryer is just what the doctor ordered. My old fryer kicked out on me and I was bummed. When the Bella Pro came in I was happy again after the first use. The touch screen is simple and intuitive to use and unlike some others I've read about, I haven't noticed any issues with steam building up inside the display. The fryer basket is plenty big for making the foods we eat often in our family of three. Lots of fries, tots, mozzarella sticks, and wings. I have had to use very little oil to get perfectly crispy results, even less than my old machine which I thought was pretty efficient on that front. Another thing I've noticed is how much quieter this air fryer is than my last one (and ones owned by friends). It isn't whisper quiet by any means, but it isn't so loud as to be obtrusive. Being dishwasher safe makes clean up a breeze. The stainless steel exterior fits nicely with my other appliances, but do note this is a fairly large machine. Just something to consider if you are low on counter or storage space. Otherwise, I have been really impressed so far.

Great sound quality

I have owned many sets of wireless earbuds over the years (my wife thinks I might have a problem...) and these JLab Epic Airs are well in the top tier. First, the hard case with built-in charging cable and Qi compatibility is top-notch. No more fumbling to find a proprietary charging cable or worse, being away from home and not being able to charge a set of dead headphones. There is no power adapter included and the cable itself is only a couple of inches long, but it is a very workable solution. Anyway, on to the real stuff. Flipping open the magnetically closed faux-leather lid (which has an opening so you can see the LED lights indicating state of charge of the case or headphones depending on which is charging) reveals the earbuds themselves. Pairing is about as simple as it gets. I'd highly recommend downloading the JLab app soon after that so you can customize your sound and change the tap controls for each earbud. (The standard ones are fine and are detailed n the instructions, but I prefer a little customization and JLab offers an easy way to do it through the app.) There are several (seven, I think) different eartips included in the box so finding a good fit shouldn't be a big deal. The pre-installed ones fit my ears perfectly, keeping the earbuds securely in my ear while maintaining a good level of comfort. The lower end sound reproduction on these easily rivals that of headphones costing twice or three times as much. I was absolutely amazed. While the extremes at the top and bottom of the range can get slightly muddy at high volumes, that's not really what these headphones were designed for. They aren't studio monitors after all.. The overall sound quality out of the box is above average, and with the multi-channel EQ in the app, it's really easy to tweak it to your liking. After messing with the levels for just a few minutes, I hit my sweet spot and would rate the sound quality as far above average. While I'm not ususally a huge fan of ANC, JLab doesn't overdo it here so I don't feel like there is just a lot of white noise hissing in the background like with other manufacturers. The effect, while perhaps understated, is about right for me. Not sure it would be the greatest on a noisy plane or train, in most situations it should be fine. The "Be Aware" mode lets in more outside sounds so you can, in fact, be aware of what is happening around you. I've found that helpful while walking the neighborhood and even when doing chores around the house so you can know if someone is calling your name. All in all, the JLab Epic Airs have become my go-to true wireless earbuds, relegating some of my more expensive ones to the bedside drawer, possibly not to be seen again for a long time.

Easy install, better water!

I got this filter about a week ago and almost immediately set to get it installed. I was expecting it to take a long time so I blocked off a weekend afternoon to get it done. Much to my surprise, it ended up only taking about 15 minutes to finish after I got all my tools together. Once I decided where to mount it (this thing is relatively large and you need some clearance at the bottom to be able to replace the cartridge), it was as simple as putting in a couple of screws on the mounting bracket, attaching the water lines (all the necessary fittings were included for my install), and twisting on the filter. That was it. The instructions are excellent, and even if you have little to no experience with plumbing, installation is a breeze. Once that was done, a quick bleeding of the lines and flushing the filter was all that was needed to be up and running. I have noticed no decrease in water pressure and can definitely tell my water tastes (and feels) better after being filtered. I generally only drink water from the fridge dispenser which is already filtered, and use tap water for my coffee. I wasn't expecting to be able to tell much of a difference, but amazingly my coffee has a noticeably better taste from filtering out the contaminants. Hopefully, using this filter will also lengthen the time between having to descale my coffee pot as well but only time will tell. The only word of caution I have is to be sure you have space. Like I said before, this unit is relatively tall, so be sure you consider that when buying. You should only have to change the filter once or twice a year depending on how much water you use, so tucking it into a back corner is okay. If you've got the space, I'd highly recommend picking one of these up. You won't regret it.

I have owned many different slow cookers over the years but keep coming back to the Crock-Pot brand because they just work and do their job well. This 7-quart cook and carry model is no different. As with other models, there are high, low, and warm heat settings. A digital cook timer can be set from 30 minutes to 20 hours (not sure what you'd ever have to cook for that long though). While the crocks have always been relatively easy to clean, the nonstick coating on this model makes it even easier. Food just wipes away, even baked on cheeses or cream sauces. I have yet to have to soak or scrub the crock which is a definite bonus. The only issue I've had is that the latches on the lid are a little tricky to get lines up and latched on a consistent basis. Once latched, it does seem like the gasket will stop most drips and spills during transport, it's just getting there can sometimes be a bit frustrating. Otherwise, this is a great cooker that will hold plenty of food for a larger family or small gathering of friends. For example, I cooked a 5 pound roast and had more than enough room for potatoes and carrots with head space left over. I could easily have done a larger roast if I had one.

Does this clean hard floor surfaces as well?
It will if you purchase the optional hard surface roller and nozzle. Using the carpet roller won't work as the brushes won't come into enough contact with hard surfaces to clean properly. The set comes with two bottles of multi-surface cleaner and is relatively inexpensive.

Does this product only work in the dark, or does it work in day time light too?
Only in the dark from my experience. Any ambient light overpowers the low light output of the projector unfortunately.

How does this system work without the monthly monitoring. Can I get alerts on my phone without the monitoring?
Essentially, without the monitoring you have little more than a noise-maker. You cannot get alerts on your phone or otherwise "self-monitor" the system. If no one is home when an alarm sounds, you will have no way of knowing it happened. If a bad guy comes in, your only hope is that the noise will scare him away.

This iRobot Roomba robot vacuum includes a Virtual Wall Lighthouse beacon device for automated room-to-room cleaning.
I'm restating my former question in a more direct manner, concerning damage to BASEBOARDS and WOOD Furniture legs not wood floors, by the side bristles on the Roomba. Did the side bristles cause damage to these areas?
I've got the 690 and haven't noticed issues with the bristles harming my baseboards or furniture legs. I would assume the 877 has similar bristles. Damage is much more likely from direct strikes by the body of the machine.

Nope, not as far as I can tell. Just the sound bar and wireless subwoofer.

Can i play music from my iphone
Yes, you can stream from any Bluetooth device directly to the system. It also is Google Cast enabled if that fits your needs.
