Finally. A robot vacuum you can rely on to get the job done. The Roomba j7 robot vacuum packs 10x the power-lifting suction and comes with unique intelligence to avoid cords and pet waste. It even understands times when you’re home and seasons when more cleaning may be needed. Compared to the Roomba 600 series cleaning system.

I named it Johnny 5! My new little helper. :)

This is my first robot vacuum and I’ve been so excited to get it! The Roomba arrived safe and sound in an easy to open box. Setup was very easy with step-by-step instructions once connected to the app.
Once connected to wifi and the app, the first thing the j7 does is start learning the floor-plan of your home. This will take a few full trips of vacuuming around the house. Or you can tell it to map your floor plan without vacuuming, which goes much more quickly. While mapping the house your Roomba will identify obstacles and take photos for you to review in the app after the cleaning job is complete.
Once mapping is complete the iRobot app allows you to create zones within your home's floor plan, shown on your phone. There are two different types of zones you can create. The first is a Keep Out Zone, which can be manually set anywhere you want on the map. A Keep Out Zone is also automatically created when you choose to avoid an obstacle during the after cleaning job review. The second zone you can create is a Clean Zone. A Clean Zone will receive an extra pass when the j7 is cleaning that room. You can also use this feature to send the Roomba to any Clean Zone at any time to clean just that area, then return home.
We have two adults and two medium size dogs in my home, so while we don’t have a lot of debris or clutter on the floors we do have a lot of dog hair. Our home flooring is a combination of wall to wall carpeting in some rooms and laminate flooring with large area rugs in others. When I first used the Roomba I noticed it was leaving large clumps of hair and rug fibers all over the house. The problem was that the dustbin was full and I had the vacuum set to continue cleaning, even while the bin was full. I changed this setting to stop vacuuming and return home when the bin is full, which fixed the problem. As soon as the dustbin is full the Roomba will alert my phone via the app while it is returning to the home location. Once l empty the dustbin, I press the button on top and it goes back to where it left off vacuuming. The only issue now is that it was needing to be emptied in every room. I think it picked up a lot of extra hair and fibers from the rugs, than my other vacuum had been picking up, because after the first few days of cleaning once a day, the dustbin stopped needing to be emptied so frequently. Now it needs to be emptied about once every other room.
The dustbin doesn’t hold much, and it will be interesting to watch them innovate ways to hold more in future releases. That being said, it’s still pretty great and with daily vacuuming, it doesn’t fill up as quickly. There is an optional automatic dustbin waste bin that the Roomba can use, but I don’t have one. There is also a filter on the dust bin that cannot be washed and needs to be tapped out often. I’m not sure how long this will last, but it did come with a replacement, which is nice.
Overall I’m very happy with the iRobot Roomba j7. It does a great job keeping up with the pet hair in my house and they don’t seem to mind it at all, which totally surprised me. I recommend this to anyone who vacuums daily, but needs a break and/or could use an “extra set of hands”.

Dependable, Quality, Fast, but no interior light.

Counter top cooking has really increased in my household ever since we got the Oster Rapid Crisp air fryer oven. I’ve owned a range of counter-top appliances, from smokeless grills to quality toaster ovens, and I figured it was finally time to use my first air fryer oven. I’ve always had good luck with Oster, going back as far as I can remember, so I was excited to try this new Oster product.
You have quite a few options to choose from when cooking, along with the air frying capability this oven can toast, bake, broil, dehydrate and be used as a convection oven. The single dial makes everything really easy to select and helps keep things simple to learn right out of the box.
I was truly impressed by the speed in which this appliance cooks using the air fryer setting. French fries actually come out crispy without burning, cookies and brownies cook evenly and I don’t think I’ve ever seen crescent rolls come out so quickly and perfectly done, without having to rotate them on the tray half way through. If you’re looking to shave time off your cooking schedule look no further than this oven from Oster.
Now let’s talk about the one thing I can’t understand, why no inner light? I have a bright kitchen but I still need to see the details of what I’m cooking. I looked everywhere because I thought I was missing something but quickly realized that it just wasn’t a feature. Besides that, this air fryer does a great job.
I love this new counter-top oven from Oster and will recommend it to my family and friends when they come to visit. I also recommend this to anyone who wants a dependable counter-top oven with multiple functions and features.

Saves the environment and my wallet! Win-Win
on November 7, 2021

The Epson EcoTank ET 3850 All in One printer arrived securely packaged in a nice box with everything needed to get set up.
There is a warning in the instruction booklet that says not to touch the ink tubes and their translucent cover. I didn’t see this warning when removing the blue tape from the various areas on the printer, but fortunately didn’t remove the translucent cover. But I did touch the ink tubes, hopefully that won’t cause any damage over time. There is a power plug on the back of the unit that sticks out an extra inch, it would have been nice for this to have been
Setup was really easy. The instructions show a three prong plug, but it’s a 2 prong plug. After you plug the printer in you download the app to get started.
Upon setup the app acts like a chat window with a smart AI, “Epson Smart Panel” that guides you and chats with you. The app/phone will find the printer after you turn it on. Once found, you fill the ink tanks. The app has you agree to a couple simple rules, then sends info to the printer which takes approx. 20 seconds.
After that the next steps are all displayed on the app, which are filling the ink tanks.
To fill the tanks you need to open the scanner unit with both hands until it locks in place, which actually requires one hand on the base and one on the lid, to pull it into place.
Fill black in first.
Filling is really easy. You just remove the cap on the ink bottle. Line it up with the filling port and flip it over to fill. The ink bottle stands in place while the ink reservoir is filled. You do not need to push or squeeze at all, and it doesn’t seem like there is any risk of spillage at all either. The ink stops flowing from the bottle automatically once the reservoir is filled. Filling the black ink took approximately 75 seconds and I still have a small amount of black ink left in the bottle for future use.
After filling the black ink, continue with the rest of the colors, cyan, magenta and yellow.
Once all the ink is filled you close the ink lid, and the scanner unit.
The app has you verify twice that all tanks are filled before proceeding with the ink initialization. The app says that ink initialization takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
I noticed after initialization that all the ink tanks were now a little lower, probably from the ink going into the tubes.. I wonder if I can fill the rest of the ink for the bottles into the tanks now, so that I don’t have to store the bottles. .. No you cannot, when I went to fill the tanks a message appeared on the screen saying not to fill them more than ⅔ full.
While the ink initializes, the app has you connect the printer to wifi.
Once the ink is initialized, you are finished with the app and follow the instructions shown on the printer screen for the remainder of the set up.
The screen instructs you to perform a print head nozzle check and has you load paper into the paper tray.
Then you check the print head alignment, using the on screen instructions. There are 4 printer alignment tests, which require you to review printouts and select the best images.
Once the alignment tests were completed, I then checked for and installed a firmware update.
Overall I’m extremely pleased with this printer. It’s easy to connect to, does a great job on the print quality and it prints quickly. Best of all, I won’t have to replace the ink every couple months like I’ve had to do with previous printers. This new Epson EcoTank is good for the environment and good for my wallet. I highly recommend this printer to anyone who wants a high quality printer that won’t cost an arm and a leg to maintain.

The best gaming laptop I've ever owned!
on August 1, 2021

I’ve been using this new Dell Alienware M15 R5 for a couple weeks now and I can easily say that this is the best gaming laptop I’ve owned to date! Every game I play runs smooth and looks amazing, even with the graphics options turned all the way up to ultra, it works perfectly!
I like the color and overall design of the laptop. The color is called Dark Side of the Moon and it comes with an anti-stain high endurance clear coat that helps prevent smudges and stains from usage over time. It’s actually thinner and lighter than I would expect for a gaming laptop of this power, which is great but also probably a sign of my age. I love the lit alien head as the power button with the lit alien head on the back of the lid and the light up ring on the back of the laptop. All together, with the sweet customizable RGB backlit keyboard, this laptop stands out and is a real head turner!
This laptop is extremely well vented and designed to allow for good airflow. It has a nice looking honeycomb venting above the keyboard as well as on the bottom of the laptop. There are vents on both sides and a huge vent on the back as well.
The keyboard is a mSeries 4-Zone AlienFX RGB keyboard and performs nicely! The keyboard, keys and chassis are all the same color with a matte clear coat finish around the keyboard. The trackpad is spot-on with it’s movement tracking but it is a bit smaller than I would expect although I’m pretty happy with it either way.
The laptop has downward firing speakers which are decent mid-range speakers. Not the best but definitely not the worst I’ve heard. To be honest the speakers on my laptop don’t matter too much to me since I’ll most likely be streaming to my headphones or a Bluetooth speaker.
The webcam and mic are on the top of the screen and seem to work pretty well for the couple times I’ve used them so far. The screen is bright, brilliant and beautiful. It’s extremely color accurate with the perfect resolution for gaming, watching movies or even working on documents and spreadsheets. Whatever you are looking at or doing, it’s going to look great on this screen.
The laptop does get a little warm with extended hours of gaming but the keyboard never gets uncomfortably warm to use as I have experienced with other gaming laptops. The fan does come on pretty quickly, and is noticeable, but it has a nice fan sound, no whining or hum that can become annoying over time. The battery life isn’t the best but I’ll probably have it plugged in most of the time anyway, so that’s not much of an issue for me personally. The WiFi on the laptop is superb!
Overall I’m so extremely happy to own this laptop and cannot believe I haven’t given Alienware a try sooner. It's a very playable and gamer friendly laptop that looks absolutely amazing for any and all games I’ve tried. I’m now an Alienware fanboy!

FAST, durable and dependable!
on June 29, 2021

After about two weeks of using this laptop I’ve had a chance to get to know it pretty well and I really like it! I’ve been using it for all of my normal computing tasks including some lightweight Steam gaming, video streaming, and web surfing. The first thing I noticed when using this computer is how zippy it is! It’s much faster than my previous laptop with webpages, apps and programs opening and running instantly when selected. The next thing I really took a liking to was the size and build of the laptop. It has a sleek profile, nice color and great keyboard layout with a fingerprint sensor button integrated as one of the keys in the upper right hand corner of the keyboard. The screen resolution looks really nice for not being 4k and I appreciate the almost borderless widescreen. My only complaint about the screen is that it doesn’t get as bright as other laptops/tablets I’ve used. I’ve adjusted the Dell Cinema Color settings, as well as other display settings, and it doesn’t get any brighter. It’s probably a comfort thing or a battery saver or maybe Dell telling us that we don’t need to look at such bright screens when sitting so close. Either way, it was worth mentioning but not a deal breaker and I will get used to it.
I love the keyboard and mouse pad on this laptop. The keys are responsive, feel great and look great with the backlighting. The mouse pad has a chrome outline that reflects the light of the screen, giving it a nice look.
The touch screen works great and using this as a tablet when on the go, moving rooms, etc, is extremely handy. I love being able to go from desk to couch with a flip of the screen.
The sound is fantastic. I used to connect my old laptop to a bluetooth speaker, because I couldn’t stand to listen to the poor audio, but not anymore. The speakers are loud and clear with decent base, good mids and highs. It sounds really good compared to a lot of other laptops I’ve used.
Overall this is a great everyday use laptop that can handle most tasks in a flash. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new mid range, dependable, mobile laptop to use around the house.

Super bright with a unique design!
on June 10, 2021

I saw this lamp available, thought the design was really cute and decided to give it a try. I work from home now, don’t get outside as much as I should and the lighting in my office isn’t the best. So I hoped that this would be an uplifting addition to my home office.
The body of the lamp is small and lightweight. I would have liked to have seen a more weighted base as it seems like it might tip over easy. The cord is a good length if you plan to use it fairly close to the outlet but I would have also liked to see a longer cord. The design is very simple and user friendly, no need for an instruction manual, just press the touch sensitive button on the back to activate it. The ”Lattis light lamp” has three brightness settings with the lowest setting having a good level of variation from the highest. The brightest setting is very bright and you should not look directly at it. At the lower settings you see the individual LED’s, which to me, is unappealing.
The color and/or hue of a LED light really makes all the difference, and for me, I don’t know how true to natural sunlight this is. It seems a little more on the pale white side than I would expect. I feel like the color is somewhat like the fluorescent lighting, used in office buildings, but that’s just my opinion. I would have chosen a slightly warmer hue, nothing orange but just a little less “hospital lighting”.
I can’t say that my morning mood has changed being that it’s not winter right now but I will mention that having the light on in my office does awaken my eyes more than the regular overhead lighting. I’ve been using it for the first two hours of each morning and overall I think I have been more productive and less groggy. I’m not somebody who drinks caffeine so I think this might be like a cup of coffee in the morning for me.. lol. I love that the Circadian light has a very artistic look to it which makes it great for blending in with other home decor, so even if you buy one for the design it’ll look awesome.
Overall I like the lamp. Good price for a mood enhancing light and works great for home offices or other small spaces. If you work from home and have a dark office I’d highly recommend picking one of these up.

Makes working from home a little easier.
on May 31, 2021
Posted by: Orion
from Columbia, MO
I’ve been using this monitor for a few weeks now, working from home, and am upgrading from a 21” HD monitor. The difference in size is much more than you realize until you see the monitor. At 32” this monitor is large enough to be used for viewing movies and tv shows, and they look great with the cinematic display option available. The larger monitor also makes it much easier to work on large spreadsheets, which is something that I do daily. It also really helps to navigate many of the programs and applications that I use daily, being able to expand all the info bars and modules for a better view of what’s happening.
The monitor came well packaged and was very easy to set up. Included is a sturdy, yes basic, stand and the monitor can also be mounted. I wish this monitor had speakers or at least HDMI ARC so that I could use it as a television and put it in the guest room, when we have company, unfortunately it needs to be hooked up to a computer for sound. That’s not what it’s sold for, but such a simple feature would make it more versatile. My biggest gripe is that I feel like the screen doesn’t get bright enough. I’ve cycled through all of the settings but it seems like the whites are more dull and not nearly as bright as my other monitor or the monitor it’s replacing. That’s not a deal breaker, and I think it was done to lessen eye strain from working on such a large monitor up close, but I wish there was a way to override it.
Pros:
Quick setup
Large size (Great for working from home.)
4K HDR capable
Strong stand
Headphone phone jack
Standard power cord (no block)
Cons:
Few inputs, 1 HDMI port and 1 DP
Basic stand only tilts back and forth slightly.
No speakers
Overall I’m happy with this monitor and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a large but basic, 4k monitor.

Kills the stuff your vacuum can't!
on April 26, 2021

The Raycop RS Pro really gives you a great way to sanitize and deodorize without the use of any chemicals. As a pet owner I don’t like to use harsh cleaning agents or sprays, so this added a new level of cleaning to my routine without adding toxic chemicals. With allergies and pet dander always being an issue I was ready for something that would raise the bar and this is it.
The Raycop is just under 5 lbs and is very easy to maneuver over any upholstery or fabric surface. The cord gives you a great reach, being just over 16ft. A battery powered unit would have been nice, but probably considerably heavier. The actual sanitizing width of the unit is 7 inches which might seem small but you don’t have to move slowly to get good results. The unit comes with detailed but simple instructions so you can quickly start cleaning almost right out of the box.
The bottom of the vacuum has two sensors that activate the UV light when it is on a surface, while raising the unit will turn the light off. The “Ultra Pulse” pulsating brush breaks up dirt and shakes off the dust mites without vibrating your arm or making a loud noise. Having a brush on the vacuum that pulses truly helps give your machine more elbow grease.
Not only does the UV light kill 99.99% of viruses and bacteria but it is paired with steam-less heat tech that destroys dust mites on contact. This handheld vacuum is the first of its kind when it comes to steam ess heat and has a great safety feature that will automatically shut the unit down to avoid overheating. The Raycop is also paired with a HEPA filter that is specifically designed to not allow allergens to recirculate throughout your home, which is awesome! The dust trap and filter easy pull out of the unit to be dumped and washed when you are finished vacuuming. You should allow the filter to fully dry before putting it back into the vacuum.
When cleaning items like a pillow you can easily see how far the UV light penetrates into the material. Doing both sides of a pillow would surely kill any dust mites or bacteria that may live inside. I can’t express how much I love this thing for my mattress as well! I also used this on my dog’s beds, after removing the covers to be washed, I used the Raycop on the foam inserts. It worked very well and really helped to deodorize them. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the Raycop RS Pro UV. I’ve already gotten a lot of use out of it and know that I’ll be using it every time I clean. I highly recommend it to any household looking to destroy odors and dust mites at the source.

High tech, top of the line air purifier!
on March 29, 2021
Posted by: Orion
from Columbia, MO
From the moment I unboxed the Blueair HealthProtect air filter I could tell that this was going to be a whole new level of air filtration technology. The design is clean and aesthetically pleasing which definitely helps with a larger air purifier such as this. After easily sliding the filter into the left side door I plugged in the unit and was instantly surprised by the intricacy of the LCD display.
This specific model easily covers 674 square feet of any indoor area you are looking to keep clean. It has some weight to it (43.2lbs) but the 2 wheels at the bottom/back of the unit allow for easy in home transportation. The bottom of the unit is designed to hide any excess cord that you may not need, which I love because it makes it look that much cleaner. It stands at 33.9” with an equal width of 13.4”, so I’d say about as tall as a compact mini fridge. The left side of the purifier has a large door that opens to reveal the replaceable filter, which is VERY easy to do, even quicker than changing a light bulb. The unit pulls air in through the side but distributes it in a 360 direction so you won’t end up with a blast of air always blowing towards the same area.
The BlueAir 7770i is equipped with a pretty cool HEPA filter they label as “HEPAsilent Ultra”. It has the ability to use mechanical and electrostatic filter technology to help eliminate any possible gas contaminants, which was refreshing because we use natural gas for our water and heat. Along with the advanced HEPA filter, the unit has a “GERM SHIELD” which doesn’t allow bacteria and germ growth to occur while the unit is not in use.
The 7770i has 3 fan speeds which can mainly be noticed at the highest speed (ranges between 25-53 decibels). The Automatic setting will allow you to let the unit do the decision making for you. If you start to cook something or have too much fragrance on you it’ll instantly detect it and react to eliminate the contamination.
This unit is equipped with 2 pre filters located near the front/lower area. Simply push in and out pops the pre filter. Cleaning these will take a simple dust cloth, vacuum tube or a soft bristle brush. Depending on the home, I’d recommend checking them at least once a week.
The Blue Air app works great, allowing you to control the unit and get real-time air pollution data as well as historical air quality data for your home and your local area. It is a really cool feature and once you have it, you wonder how you lived without it
Overall I’m very happy with the Blue Air 7770i air filter, the air in my home has never been more clean! I highly recommend this air filter to anyone wanting a top of the line air purifier for their home.

High end security with all the bells and whistles!

The Arlo Pro 3 floodlight camera has been a great addition to our Arlo security network around the house. Our existing setup includes four Arlo Pro 2 cameras and three Arlo motion lights along with an Arlo base unit and Arlo light bridge. We didn’t have anything over the garage yet, our old floodlight was actually broken when we moved in about a year ago and we hadn’t gotten around to replacing it until now.
Mounting the floodlight camera was really easy, if you already use Arlo you will find yourself on familiar ground, if you are new to Arlo, you will want to download the Arlo app and begin your set up there. The camera does not come with much of a setup manual other than directing you to the app and some set up videos online. The Arlo app setup steps are very thorough, easy to follow and include videos and helpful notes. The camera is battery operated, and can be attached to a solar panel. I plan to purchase a solar panel for mine so that I don’t have to change the battery, that being said, I’ve only had to charge the battery once over the past three weeks. I do have the light set fairly bright with the motion sensitivity set fairly low. The battery is larger than the batteries on my other Arlo cameras and Arlo lights but has the same mounting size.
The spotlight is incredibly bright, when set to the maximum setting. I won’t keep it this bright at all times, but I love being able to turn it up if I need some extra light in the driveway. The camera video quality is clear, sharp and the wider field of view looks great! You can zoom in really close on the phone from the Arlo app to get a closer view when needed. The two way audio is a wonderful feature and can be useful to listen to what’s going on outside to to say hello to a friend! Another great feature, which I hope to never use, is the built in siren. The siren can be set up to trigger remotely, via the app, or automatically from a preassigned event that you can create in the Arlo app. It really is awesome, what you can do with the events and triggers in the Arlo app. For example, you can tell Arlo to turn on all lights when one light detects motion. Or, turn on all lights and start recording on all cameras when one camera detects motion. The possibilities, especially when paired with other smart apps and devices, are endless.
Overall I’m so happy to have added this camera to my Arlo home security network. Another side of my house is now, finally, armed with Arlo!

Amazing Phone
By bzm3j81 from Detroit, MI
First and foremost, this phone is amazing. Performance and quality exceed my expectations from Google.
Pro’s:
- Build Quality
- Phone Performance
- Google Assist
- Unlimited photo storage
- Battery life
- Camera!
Con’s:
- Cost
- Lack of some “flagship” features (i.e. IP67 rating, wireless charging, removable storage)
Build quality: This phone is solid in your hand from the moment you pick it up. The aluminum body feels solid and the phone has enough weight behind it to sit comfortably in your hand. I was concerned about the glass portion of the back panel, as I cringed every time I put the phone down on a solid surface, but it has endured very well so far and beyond adding a little flair it helps to quickly identify the top from bottom of the phone as I bring it out of my pocket. The front screen is probably the best screen I have ever used on a smart phone, colors are vibrant, the blacks are deep, and I would put it up against any screen that Apple or Samsung produce. It would really be nice if this was IP 67 rated for water resistance and dust resistance.
Performance: The new Qualcomm 821 processor doesn’t seem leaps and bounds above the older 820 model, but there are times where it is noticeable. Transitions are smooth, scrolling is faster and more responsive, and the phone overall just seems more fluid. The finger print reader is very quick. The camera does load faster than my old phone, but isn’t instant.
Software: The new launcher is very smooth. Took a little bit of time to get used to the “pull up” for the app drawer, but it seems much more natural than the old app drawer button. The Google assistant is nice, but seems to be a slightly more powerful Google now… I expect this will get better over time, but right now seems to be a little basic. Verizon did a great job with the phone’s “bloatware”. I haven’t “noticed” the applications and it seems that they can be uninstalled if I want to. (good job guys). Everything seems to work really well, and the 3D touch is really nice for the applications it works with right now (mostly google apps) but as with most of the software, it will just get better with time.
Camera: This is hands down the best camera I have ever used on a phone. I was worried about the lack of OIS (optical image stabilization) but after seeing how well the EIS performs, it really isn’t a concern anymore. Photos look amazing, the stabilization is awesome, and the HDR+ mode is so fast, I do not even know it’s on. Combined with the unlimited Google photos storage, I really don’t mind the 32GB storage size. Low light photos are amazing and the autofocus is fast. Colors look amazing. I really can’t say enough about this thing. I do wish it had OIS to cover those situations where EIS struggles (lose some details in low light with HDR+ and shaky hands) but I do not think it’s needed overall.
Battery: bottom line, rock solid. I run my phones hard, and normally have to charge them in the car to and from work. (sometimes even at work). But no issues with this Pixel XL. The Qualcomm 821 processor combined with the OLED screen seem to have really helped battery life out. I am looking at 18 hours of life today alone and that’s with about 7 hours of screen time on.)
If you are in the market for a phone, and you have the money, this phone will not disappoint.

3D Touch?
October 23, 2016
I've read that it does not have a pressure sensitive screen, so no 3D touch. Not sure what your referring to, haptic touch?

Grill and brown food to tasty perfection all-year-round with virtually no smoke thanks to the Philips Smoke-less Indoor BBQ Grill. Advanced infrared technology and special reflectors guide heat to the grid for delicious, evenly grilled food. The drip tray underneath remains cool so there is up to 80% less smoke and minimal splattering when cooking.

did it char like an outdoor grill? Thinking about getting this since we can no longer have outdoor grills in our complex.

No, it does not. The chicken I cooked took about 22 minutes and had no burned/chared areas at all. It's still a great grill, you just have to get used to the non open flame taste for some things.

When is this going to be available to order? Keeps on saying sold out online

I was able to snag one Open-Box online, and it was delivered the next day. I tried like 20 times and finally was able to get one. I just kept checking the site like every hour and adding it to my cart and trying to check out, lol. Persistence pays. :) The unit I received still had all the plastic wrap and my guess is that whoever owned it before me only had it to review it. Keep tyring!!
