Didn’t make the cut

The Rexing 4.5” Video Baby Monitor did not meet my expectations. I actually opened and starting working with this monitor about a week before my daughter was born, so I could get to know the product and compare it a little both with a different monitor I already owned. They are similar, however I liked the idea of the Rexing, as you have an independent screen to watch your baby on, vice carrying around your cellphone to monitor your little one.

Out of the box, every thing looked great and I loved the simplicity of the independent componants. I loved that you can view the baby on the screen and that you can charge that screen and walk around the house with it. I carried it everywhere in my two story home, and the connection kept. That was nice, and I was impressed that I did not have to have any sort of line of sight to keep that connection. Also, I didn’t have to connect anything out of the box. Everything just worked.

So, to make this easier to read, I am just going to do a pro/con list and expand on what I write about each topic.

Pros:

1. Compact design, that you can carry around the house.
2. Night vision works pretty well, and camera reacts to the baby moving. This is very accurate from what I saw.
3. Camera works well sitting on a desktop or night stand near the baby. Easy to adjust and get it pointed just were you want it. Also easy to move if you want to use it somewhere else.

Cons:

1. The screen resolution is less that ideal. You cannot see details in the light or in the dark.
2. If you are have to shoot the camera through any sort of netting, the camera cannot focus on two things and tends to focus in the netting. I mention this because my daughter is in a bassinette that is the same height as my nightstand next to her where the camera is. I had readjust things multiple times until it saw here vice the netting on the bassinette. This was a constant battle.
3. All the componants feel light and almost empty. The difference between buying a tablet online that you have never heard of vice one that is a brand name. That sort of thing. I didn’t like that.
4. The camera makes noise. It clicks every time it comes on and it’s enough to wake you.
5. If you forget to charge the portable screen, the low battery noise will scare the heck out of you. Especially if you are sleeping. I get the point of it, but I still didnt like it.

At the end of the day, I didn’t feel comfortable trusting this product to be the go between for me to watch my baby. If I felt that way, my wife felt the same only double. Rexing makes good products. I have one of their dash cams in one of my cars and it is great. But this just missed the mark for me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent whole home cleaner!
on June 24, 2022
Posted by: Marine778
We have all been there. You are moving and need to clean the carpets, whether in the new place or as part of the move out. You either hire a company and pay more money, or you go to the local hardware store and rent a big heavy box shaped monster that does a fairly decent job. But God only knows how many times that thing has been used and you end up spending $100+.

Personally, there is always a reason to have a decent carpet cleaner around the house. If you have pets or the other version of pets (kids), you know there are always going to be messes. That and many of us do a deep cleaning once or twice a year. Before having a Tinco Carpet One Smart carpet cleaner, I have tried a few others. Without naming names of course, I have tried the spot cleaners, the thin/light broom style cleaners and the ones that look like a simplified upright vacuum. Yes, they are less expensive and they are meant for spot cleaning, but that is my limited experience outside the rentals.

The Tinco Carpet One Smart carpet cleaner is something I was excited to get and I knew I could really put it to the test. My wife’s car was a MESS, and my youngest daughter is a professional mess maker at the age of four.
That and it had been almost a year since I cleaned the carpets in my home. So I was amped and my expectations after reading about this product were high.

I was not disappointed. First, I started with the car. Not because I wanted to, as I actually wanted to start with carpet as that is what it is for right? But the glare I was receiving from my wife prompted me to change direction and start with her car. It is a mid-size SUV with a third row, and most recently my youngest had dropped a strawberry smoothie in the backseat, and God forbid someone would at least throw a few napkins on top of it or grab the big chunks off the floor. So before I used it, I vacuumed it with a fairly strong handheld vacuum I primarily use for the cars. I removed the floor mats and vacuumed every little place I could reach. I then added the attachment on the Tinco and got to work. I scrubbed and sprayed, and went through about a tank of cleaner, maybe a little more.

The car came out really nice. I was not able to reach the small edges between the seat rails and the door, plus some other areas that the tool simply is too big to get to. But remember this is an stair attachment for stairs and maybe furniture if you are so inclined. But to me (and more importantly to my wife) the results were awesome.

So, I tried it on the carpet in the living room, in an area that is not readily walked on. The things I like about the machine are many, but I will hit the high points here.

It is heavy, so it holds it’s line when you use it and stays flat. As an upright style machine, the base with the waste water container stay in place when you pull the handle back. You will understand what I mean when you try it, but it is a simple design that allows the machine to really get good suction power. The weight feel centered over the area you are working on.
I love that it sprays and sucks up all water after. Not only that, but it self adjusts with sensors based on how dirty an area is or how damp it is. They call it auto mode. Above that they have max mode for a deeper clean that operates at 100%. It uses both warm water and warm air to do this. No need to heat the water!
To piggy back off that, there is dry mode that only shoots warm air on the already cleaned, but still wet area. Switch between the three modes at a push of a button.
The thing speaks to you at ever mode and has a smart display always easily in view when using it. It also links to an app, however I am still playing with that and cannot report as to how well it works just yet.
The accessory mode is when you plug in the stair attachment and turn the machine on. It will announce the accessory mode when you do that. The attachment operates the same as a rental stair attachment, but I find the brush to be a bit more effective in scrubbing.

The machine came with two bottles of solution and you only use two small cap fulls of solution per full tank. So the two bottles last for a long time. It is the size of a typical upright vacuum, and I did not notice it dripping like some others I used in the past. Heck, some even came with drip trays. No bad smell when you use it, but I make sure I clean the tank out when I am finished and I rinse it.

When you use a service of a rental machine, you can probably finish faster when you have a larger tank to hold more solution. But I honestly feel my Tinco machine cleaned my carpet substantially better than the last rental I used. The carpet cleaning I expected to be good and frankly for the price I double expected results. It delivered for sure. But the bonus for me was the cleaning of my wife’s car.

This is a whole house cleaning machine in a smaller package, and you are getting MORE than what you are paying for. All the guess work is gone for you and you just focus on the task at hand. I would highly recommend this to anyone that regularly cleans their carpets, either once or twice a year. 4-5 uses would be the same price as renting all the equipment that many times. Food for thought, but this is definitely worth the investment.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unique Gaming Experience
on March 7, 2022

The Panasonic Soundslayer is a unique alternative to an over/in ear headphone set. Remember the trend where people were wearing the Bluetooth headset that rested around your neck ( as short lived as it was)? This is the same sort of thing, only there are no earbuds and it makes it so the speakers rest comfortably around your neck and shoulders while you play games on your PC (PC specifically for my use). So it's like having a sour round sound system resting on your shoulders. The concept is unique and effective.
At first look they are very attractive and the shape seems to fit my neck well. If you are if a thinner stature or if you have a really thick neck they may not totally sit right on you. Something to think about, so maybe it a good try before you buy option in the store if they have it.
The sound is good. It's not top of the line and it's way past average. I'd say a 8 out of 10. The mode that worked best for me was the RPG mode. Of course this was during my RPG game play. This is what sold me on the product. Two things in particular. First, it's like having surround sound closer to a real life experience. Specifically, you can hear little sounds around you coming from the speakers. People behind you, guns going off in the distance, etc. But secondly, you hear ambient noises that are happening in real life. So you don't talk loud like a weirdo because you can't hear yourself. You talk normal.
The mic picks up your voice well and other tell me I'm crystal clear as far as my voice. Can't do better than that.
When I read about this product I saw people complain about use in USB-2 vs USB-3 ports. I've tried both and didn't hear a difference is volume quality or anything to do with sound in general. Maybe its me? But it didn't notice anything.
My only complaint? It's an obvious one. It has to be plugged in to USB. This seems odd in this day and age. It limits your gameplay options slightly, but not dramatically. But I feel it's a major shot on the foot for a product like this.
Given the decent sound and unique experience using this product, I'd recommend it to a friend that is a PC gamer. The price is good for what you get, but I'd be willing to pay more in order to have it wireless and have better speakers in it.

So much fun!

Let me state up front that I have never had anything like this before for PC gaming. I thought it would be interesting to use something more realistic as a control unit and when the opportunity presented itself I jumped on it. And I am glad I did, so so so different than a keyboard! Night and day.

The Thrustmaster T-248 provides for the ultimate driving simulator experience in an extremely well built and realistic manner. Just looking at the steering wheel it feels as close as you can to getting behind the wheel of something real. There are two parts to this set. The wheel with paddle shifters and the pedals to include a clutch.

The wheel looks like it is a smaller version of something taken out of a car. Super cool looking. It has all the buttons marked for your PS4/5 play, and works with a PC as well. The grip is like a leather steering wheel and your hand placement falls into place perfectly as you drive. The best part is that you feel the road as you play. The steering wheel responds to what you are doing in the game. Totally makes for an immersive experience. The feedback is instant and really adds to the gameplay. Shifting is smooth and I think there is the ability to add a gearshift to the set up if you don’t like paddle shifters.

The steering wheel can be attached to your desk/table and if you attach it correctly it will not move on you while you are playing. It clamps to the table and you can screw it on tight. It is rubberized and it staying put where you place it. This was the one feature I was sort of worried about. But the way you clamp it is really smart and I didn’t feel like I was worried about over doing it.

The pedal set up equally well done. You are able to adjust the pressure to suit your preference and desired pressure. There is an extra spring to make the brake harder, but I liked the one on it. The pedals have a nice grip to your foot, and they are respond with the game. One thing to be aware of though. If you are playing on carpet the base does not stay in place well. I have pretty long legs, so I was able to put them up against the wall and it was better.

Somethings that would be cool especially at this price point are an upgrade to the buttons and using the wasted space on the mach dash. The buttons are plastic, but have a feel similar to a basic gaming controller. You know the feeling you have when you use the controller that comes with some of the gaming systems, and they you upgrade and buy your own controller? You know the difference in the feeling with the buttons? I would like to see it have that sort of feel. If maybe a rubber covered button similar to those in an actual car. Just an idea. Also the dash is basically just there as an aesthetic and lacks any real function. Maybe do some LED gauges for RPMs? Something cool like that. It would really add to the gameplay.

One thing I really want to try with these, is to use them with VR. I don’t have it, but I think that would be really fun. My set up varies from running it on a large screened gaming laptop to a larger monitor on an actual PC. I am pretty new at PC gaming, it is something my daughter and I are doing together. This has been a really fun experience for us both so far.

I really do recommend this to anyone wanting an upgraded racing experience. I know there are always things you can add when you get something like this. The things I added are me being picky, and they are in NO WAY a deal breaker for me. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get to that next level gaming experience that will get your fingers off the keyboard. It is a lot of fun and I think you will enjoy it.

Perfect for mowing or power tools
on February 6, 2022
Posted by: Marine778
from Marysville, WA
I have been a firearms instructor and competitive shooter for several decades. Over the years I have been pretty basic with my choice of hearing protection, always doubling up with plugs and over the ears protection as well. Some guys have Bluetooth comms in their over ears, but I really have never tried anything like that. Well Saf-T-Ear just don’t work for a gun range.

Firearms emit a DB range over 140, and shotguns more than that. So, if you want to calculate a 40 DB reduction from there, there is a special calculation for that:

1. Find the Noise Reduction Rating (40).
2. Subtract 7 (No idea why this number).
3. Divide 33 by 2 = 16.5 is the level it will reduce from the DB’s you are hearing.

The reality is, that is not bad at all. Most items on the shelf are the same or less. But since I use double covers these just don’t feel comfortable under a pair of my outer ear covers.

So for me, these are my go to option for power tools and when I mow the lawn. First, because I usually don’t use anything in those situations and that is bad. But also because its not as loud as a full on pistol or rifle range.

So lets look at the pros and cons here:

Pros:
1. They feel like wearing a pair of ear plugs, and the string and controls are not heavy/bulky.
2. Bluetooth connects quick and the controls are easy to use.
3. The ability to hear ambient noise around you is really cool. It is not a new feature to earphones, but it is a nice feature and it works well.

Cons:
1. Not comfortable for wearing long periods of time.
2. For me, not a replacement for my gym or every day use earphones.
3. Music sound quality is lacking. Feels like it was an afterthought when making these when it boasts use at the gym listen to your tunes.

I went into this looking for an option for the range, but it didn’t work out for me. That is fine, because they are great for use when I mowing the lawn and working in the garage on projects. And for that is a very good quality product. Lucid Audio, makes some really high end hearing devices and have for a long time. So it is only natural that they would try and cross over into another category for their extensive product line. For me this is a good product that serves a specific purpose. I wont try and make it out to be more than it is, as they again won’t replace my go to day to day earphones. But now I have a great pair I feel I can use and abuse and they will take the hit and will still work. These feels strong and rugged.

I would recommend these to anyone working construction or anything around power tools or heavy machinery. That is what I will be using them for.

Remove plaque and experience a deep, effective clean with Sonicare technology, removing up to 7x more plaque vs. a manual toothbrush. Sonicare technology gently pulses water between your teeth, for a month's worth of manual brushing in just 2 minutes. The QuadPacer lets you know when you've spent the optimal amount of time on each section of your mouth while the SmarTimer signals when your 2 minutes is up. The pressure sensor flashes red to remind you to ease off, helping to prevent gum recession, while the 2 intensity settings ensure a comfortable clean that’s right for you. Going electric might feel like a big step, but with this brush you’re in safe hands. Its slim ergonomic design and familiar-shaped head gives you everything you need for an effective clean. The kit includes 1 Philips Sonicare 4100 electric toothbrush, 1 Optimal Plaque Control (C2) brush head and 1 USB charger (wall adaptor not included).

Great Upgrade from a Standard Toothbrush
on January 16, 2022
Posted by: Marine778
from Marysville, WA
The Philips Sonicare 4100 is a great entry level toothbrush for the Sonicare line. I have had several of these, I decided to get this one for my daughter that has lost most of her teeth and I want her to start developing good habits and I thought this would be a great tool for that. I will keep this simple, and go over this with a pros and cons overview:
Pros:
1. Price: At under $50, this is a great deal and you are getting a great toothbrush that cleans extremely well for that price.
2. Smart timer: This like all the other Sonicare toothbrushes have a standard two minute timer. The toothbrush vibrates in 30 second intervals and makes it easier to complete a full two minute brushing (as recommended by the ADA).
3. Battery life: According to the box, it says It has a two week battery life? I think it last more than that, but that may be just me.
4. Cleaning: If you are going from a standard toothbrush to this, it is like brushing your teeth for the first time. You cannot get your teeth as clean with a manual brush. Your teeth feel polished and makes your time flossing even easier.
Cons:
1. This is the first model I have ever received that did not have a power plug. It has a power cord the plugs into the back of the charging platform and the other end is a USB-A plug. No additional connector to plug into your outlet. Just kind of odd, but not a deal breaker.
If you are looking to move on from a standard, manual toothbrush this is a great option. You can spend a lot for a brush or set of brushes in the Sonicare line, several hundred if you so please. As I mentioned at the beginning, this is the entry level brush my daughter is staring with and it is working out well for her. I recommend it anyone looking to upgrade to a great toothbrush for a very reasonable price.

Unique way to play your vinyl
on December 30, 2021
Posted by: Marine778
from Marysville, WA
So I remember my Dad telling stories about pulling up to parties in his 1959 Impala. He had a record player on the passenger side floorboard and would crank the tunes as he drove. All the while hoping not to hit a pothole and make it skip.
I like many love music and it’s a big part of most people’s lives. 99% of the time it will be listening to music off my iPhone. But on occasion I love to listen to vinyl.
With the Victrola Revolution Go Portable Rechargeable Record Player you have a little more options than with a standard record player. Obviously, you can tell it’s portable. You can close it up and you can carry it by the handle or use the provided sling. It’s small and compact, plus its very portable for what it is.
The sound quality is decent. It’s not going to knock you out of your seat by any means. But it’s pretty good. But one thing it has going for it is that you can connect it to the another speaker via Bluetooth. I did not try this yet, but I did connect it to a pair of headphones and it stayed connected well. Even walking around the house it still stayed connected. You can also use the rca out cables and connect it to your home stereo. So basically there are a lot of options. But if you want to use the player while you are camping or hanging out in the backyard it is perfect for that sort of thing.
I mentioned it is rechargeable as well and it has a 12 hour battery life. It charges pretty fast and for what it does that’s a decent battery life. So far I have not ran the battery all the way down, so I don’t know how accurate it is.
One last little thing it has as well. The lid can be removed and flipped over to be used to hold your records. Nothing fancy for sure, but a nice little detail.
Vinyl is a lost form of music that is almost forgotten by most people. My parents have quite the collection but even they don’t listen to them anymore. So if you are looking for a diverse player that can be used at home or on the road, this is a great option for you. I recommend it to anyone that wants a portable record player really. I don’t know if another one on the market so it’s a fairly specific product. But if you are on the market for something like this I really feel it’s a great option. I would get one again if I needed another and at the price point it’s a great gift option.

Decent dual threat coffee maker
on December 1, 2021
Posted by: Marine778
from Marysville, WA
I am a coffee addict and I like to make my own coffee. I hate the weak mud water produced by the machine in my office that uses a certain type of “cup,” as it just lacks the body of a cup I can make at home. So for me, a standard drip machine or even a pour over style carafe makes all the difference. That being said, I am somewhat brand loyal. More specifically, I go for the brands that I know make a quality long lasting product, that produce what I want in this case. For that reason, I have always equated Mr. Coffee brand as a lower end product that a 20-something would have in their first apartment or in college. So for this review, I am simply going to go over the pros and cons of this coffee maker.
Pros:
1. I get to use whatever coffee I want.
2. Reusable filter, no paper throw away filter needed.
3. Make it as strong or weak as you please.
4. Machine is equipped to make cold brew or hot coffee.
5. Make a standard cup of coffee (one serving) in a few minutes ONLY.
6. Machine has a small footprint and takes up very little counter space.
7. Easy to clean.
8. Comes with a nice cup for cold brew and a measuring spoon that stores on the side of the machine.
Cons:
1. Plastic and very light, not as attractive as the pictures of the machine.
2. When it says cold brew, it just means it will allow you to brew into a cup with ice to create your personal cold brew drink. I think people believe it will make cold coffee for you, that simply is not the case nor is it how cold brew is typically made.
3. Single serve only. I know this is not really a “con” as this is a single serve machine only. But I am simply pointing out the face that it is the only option for you if you buy this machine.
For a Mr. Coffee product this is a dramatic step forward and I feel it is a great attempt to gain a share of a unique market of coffee drinkers (cold brew). Personally? I use it at the office so I don’t have go use “cups.” I get a fast cup of coffee, with good results in a few minutes only. Yes, I have to clean the filter after every use, but one should expect that.
If you are not a heavy coffee drinker, or like the idea of having a second machine to make the occasional cold brew, this is a solid and reasonably priced option for you. It is simple and intuitive. No frills here, just a very basic interface.
Do you need it? Really, you could brew a pot at home and pour it into a similar cup over ice and get the same if not similar results. For that reason, I am using it at the office and not at home.
I do recommend it for someone that meets the criteria I listed above. Like I said, it is unique in that it is breaking into a sort of dual purpose market, and to be honest I don’t know of anything similar at this price point. So that is a big win for Mr. Coffee. For me? I am still on the fence on this one, but it does serve its purpose in my office and I like the option for the occasional cold brew.

As new parents, I don’t think you get to sleep for at least the first few months of your child’s life. More depending on the circumstances. With my first child, we had a baby monitor, but as we were only able to hear the baby it did not put us as ease enough not to get up constantly to look at him. With my middle child, we had a Nanit cam, and it is was a God sent. After using it for a while and checking its accuracy (Temp in room, camera view, motion sensor, etc) eventually I was comfortable watching TV in a nearby room or sleeping once I set up the alerts to my liking.
Now we have another blessing and now I have an Owlet smart sock. I could not be happier with this product and the level of detail it provides you on my child’s sleeping activities.
Sleep Quality:
Not only does they device track how long your child sleeps and if they wake up, but it goes a few steps further. Specifically, it looks at patterns. So for instance, if your child moves around a lot, that can be indicative of many things. Anything from sleep irritability to something more concerning like a fever. So that is why I say sleep quality vice sleep. As it is a fairly in depth look at your child’s sleep patterns.
Health Sensing:
Many of us use a smart watch to track our daily activity and even sleeping activity if that suites you. Personally, I do not sleep with a device on, but I love the fact that I can get basic vitals on my child via my android in a single glance. I can get heartrate as well as blood oxygen levels. Anything can happen, lets be honest here. Every parent worries about things and when it comes to your child those worries are amplified tenfold. This helps us a lot.
Ages:
It says from infant to 5 y/o. But having tried it on my 3-4 year old she found it annoying and took it off the second she noticed it at night. So I guess it is child dependent.
Battery life:
It boasts a 16 hour battery life on a single charge. That is fairly accurate actually. I forgot to charge it before using it a second day, only to discover it did not make it through a second night. So make charging part of your ritual. I wish the battery life was longer, and that is my only issue.
As I stated before, you cannot watch your child enough as a new parent and this helps ease that anxiety a little. Not only do I recommend this for new parents, but those with a second or third (etc) child just the same. Technology will only improve, and the Smart Sock is proof of that. So far with the exception of missing a charge and the battery dying, this thing is a near perfect product. With the easy to operate intuitive app and rumored upcoming IOS app, it hits all the thinks I could want in a device that I trust my kid to wear.
Not only do I love this product, but I am grateful for that added layer of safety.

Anker is one of the companies out there that is slowly creeping into the brands of electronic products that are household names. It just used to be a decent and less expensive brand you saw on Amazon, and now they area common at places like Best Buy and other retailers.
This was the first Anker product that I tried other than a battery pack. I have a lot of ear buds, and I know what I like. I am not a fan of earbuds that are what I call ear plug style. The Soundcore Life Note E earbuds fall into that category. But to be honest, after trying they I immediately added them into my rotation.
They are really good looking to start. They are well made, substancial and they just look like a high end product. At the price point, they are FAR beyond what you would expect. Anything under $50 you don’t really think are going to be any better than “okay” at best. But these break the mold.
They are very small, and they don’t stick out far from your ears. They come with a variety of options for the range of ear sizes, so you will find one that works for you most likely. And they are so so so light, and they seal your ear for a noise cancellation
The case is one of the best parts. It is equally small, and fits the buds perfectly. They allow for about 32 hours of playtime, which for their size is very remarkable. The buds alone allow for 8 hours of play if you don’t use the case to recharge it. And of course it goes without saying, the case charges the earbuds.
So I ride motorcycles whenever I can. As a Harley fan, I like my loud pipes but I am aware it is not the best for my hearing. And on top of that, like to listen to my tunes while I ride. Some of my friends use earplugs to protect their hearing, which is great if that is your thing. These earbuds to a great job of plugging my ears enough that it helps block out the loud notices, but I can listen to my tunes. However, most of the time I will only use one at a time, because they really block out sound. For me, I like to hear what is going on around me (horns, sirens, etc), and I cannot hear that sort of thing with them both in. They REALLY cancel out sound. BUT, in other situations this is just the sort of thing you want to cancel out all the noises around you and I know they could be put to good use in that respect.
So, how do they sound? The sound good. They don’t sound amazing or great. But they don’t sound fair. They are good and you get what you are paying for in that respect. You cannot do too much adjustment to the sound, but they do have three options. The standard or “signature” mode is their balanced default setting. It is not bad, but lacks bass and depth in your highs. Bass booster is my preference, and although the highs and mids get overlooked a bit, the bass increase goes better with my preference in music. Then the podcast mode is for spoken word. I have not tried that one yet, but I have tried it in their signature mode and it was great for me. I do really like them for phone calls when my kids are playing in the house. I get that isolation I need to focus on the call and they block out my four year old that can spontaiously break into a song at any given second whenever the moment moves her.
When you take a look at the whole picture here, you are really getting a lot for your price point. If your like earbuds that cancel out noise, and you more on the thrifty side these are a winner. If you don’t like wearing earplugs, you may still like these given the comfort of the soft rubber (or silicone, I am not sure of the material they are made of) tips are pretty comfortable. I have not worn them for more than about two hours, but they were comfortable that whole time for me. I would definitely recommend these earbuds and I will say it one last time. You are getting much more than what you are paying for, and you cannot go wrong with that.

Can I pick up merchandise at Best Buy the same day I purchase online

If your local store has it in stock. You will be able to tell that when you go through the online check out process and select the store you want to pick up at. Better chance at a larger store, like the ones that have a huge appliance section. Otherwise, you will have to wait for it to get to the store after you order. And it that case, it would probably better to ship it to your home.

Create delicious specialty coffees with this Keurig K-Cafe single-serve coffee maker. An integrated milk frothing compartment produces hot or cold milk for use with lattes and cappuccinos and is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Smart start technology lets this Keurig K-Cafe single-serve coffee maker brew without the need for a lengthy preheating process.

Is there an option to make a pot of coffee with this one?

No. It is an Nespress (espresso) maker. You can do an Americano if you want to, but by no means is it made to work like a Keurig for drip coffee.

What is the process for making a latte? Is there a separate reservoir for cream or milk and if so, can powdered creamer be used since it won't spoil?

The milk frother (shown in the photo on this site) is a separate device. It is a one serving at a time sort of think. Fill it, pour it, clean it, repeat. So no worry about spoiling or powdered anything. It actually works really well. I was really surprised.

can this accommodate 12 muffins pan?

No. Look at the product page for it on the website. At the bottom it shows the dimensions of the trays it uses. Off the top of my head, I think they are 13" wide. So maybe a half dozen size pan at the most, but definitely not a dozen.

Are the volume and lock buttons easy to push with the case on?

They are super easy to use. I had an otterbox before and those buttons tend to be a little stiff. These are not. They protect the buttons well without compromising ease of use. You will be happy with it.
