Best Saw film of the four
on September 22, 2008

Continuing the story of Jigsaw, this film is easily the best of the first four. The acting is the best, the plot and puzzles are the best. While I don't think the series should end yet, it certainly hasn't gotten better than this one.
What's great about it: its' a smart horror movie
What's not so great: Pass if you don't like gore.

Great series continues

Scrubs continues it's second season successfully. Little is changed in it's formula and the supporting cast get bigger parts in the stories, which is a huge plus.
What's great about it: More of the same
What's not so great: nothing to really complain about

John Dorian (Zach Braff) and a handful of other novice doctors deal with the often bizarrely comic but sometimes tragic events of life in an American hospital in this collection of episodes from the television series Scrubs. Scrubs: Season One is a four-DVD set which features all 24 episodes from the show's 2001-2002 season. All episodes have been transferred to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Bonus materials include episode commentary tracks featuring members of the cast and series creator, Bill Lawrence; profiles of the players; outtakes and deleted scenes; an interview with leading man Zach Braff; a look at the making of the show; a music video for Lazlo Bane's song "Superman" (the theme song for the series); and more.

Great show

This is a breath of fresh air from all the medical dramas that are on TV. A sitcom is great when it can make you laugh and cry and never seem like it's pushing it. The first season does this and set it up for a great number of years to come. The episodes are extended from what was on TV too, so you'll see what had to be cut for time.
What's great about it: Funny, great cast
What's not so great: not much in the extras

New type of horror movie

This may be the first saw movie, but it's the second best in my opinion. The acting comes across as cheesy at times, but the plot will constantly keep you guessing till the end. If you like horror, suspense, or mystery movies, you can't miss out on this one.
What's great about it: It keeps you guessing
What's not so great: Not for the faint of heart

Welcome back, Dualshock. We missed you.

This is one of those purchases that you don't even have a choice in, so why fight it? Soon (if not already) you'll only be able to get dualshock in stores. For those of you who don't care about the function, you can find the version of the controller on online shops for cheap. But for the purist gamers out there, who want to experience everything the game has to offer, just get this. OH! And make sure it comes with the cord. My first one didn't.
What's great about it: A lot of games incorporate the dualshock tech.
What's not so great: Few games use it very innovatively as MGS4

Great, but what's new?

If you like FPS games, this is a no brainer. If you like Halo, this is a no brainer. If you want an amazing story, inventive weapons and innovative gameplay... this game is pretty good. But online is where this game really shines as an example of what to do. If you don't like playing online, you'll still enjoy the campain mode, but you probably won't hold onto this title.
What's great about it: Finishes Halo trilogy, amazing multiplayer, cool weapons
What's not so great: Nothing really new over past games

This one's good, the first was better

This is a straight up party game. Where the first one was still fun to play by yourself if you got bored, this one really has nothing to offer a single player. Since this is directed more towards a group setting, that's fine. But it also has nothing to do with the first game aside from the main "villians". The funnest minigame in the first one, the song/dance levels, have been reworked and though still enjoyable, aren't as fun.
What's great about it: Lots of new stuff
What's not so great: Really only fun with others

Just like a wedding...
on September 7, 2008
Posted by: Gorkous
from mankato, MN
Just like a wedding, this game has something new, something old... and I forget the rest. It follows the standard RPG gameplay pretty consistantly. The appeal of this game is there are few RPGs for the PS3 so far, this one has a cool story which isn't set in the typical dragons and wizards realm and it has a "monster catcher" power up system that makes use of the Staxis controller, something that even most action games haven't really put into use yet. To top it off, you can get this game for $30 most places, so you can't go wrong unless you hate role playing games.
What's great about it: Some new play mechanics, interesting storyline
What's not so great: Like most RPGs, starts slow.

Well worth every penny!

Honestly, I didn't know what to expect from this game. The controls were different, you turn into a wolf and I already cringed at the idea of aiming with the Wiimote (it sucked on another game). But this game proved that Zelda is one of the best franchises ever and has plenty of room to evolve and branch out simply because of the fantasy world it's set in. If you love the series or if you just want to add an amazing game to an admittedly slim Wii library, get this game!
What's great about it: c'mon... IT'S ZELDA!
What's not so great: the controls sometimes take some work.

Fun, but not "Rayman"
on August 7, 2008
Posted by: Gorkous

This game doesn't really fall into the Rayman game world, so if you're expecting a platforming/action game, don't bother. As far as party games go, it's not bad and has some fun and funny moments thanks to the parodies that the Rabbids lend themselves to.
What's great about it: Great minigames, variety, fun "dance" games
What's not so great: It's a party game, but that's not all bad

not only will you have to buy a converter so the electricity isn't a problem, but you'll have to buy an AC adapter so you can even plug it into the wall.

total new to the modern era gaming

I am from the old time 80s with the single arcade games. I want to get a system for my kids. From what I read, seems like the PS3 with the BlueRay is a no brainer. What am I missing? And what else do I need to get so they can play right away.
Thanks
The system you want depends on your kids ages and interests. The Wii tends to aim to the younger crowd, and the 360 gears more towards the sports fans and online players. For my money though, I love the PS3.
The system comes with only one controller, so you might want to get more depending on how many kids you have. Also, games are important and I would recommend Ratchet and Clank for platformer/action, Orange Box or Bio Shock (depending on age) for a first person shooter, LittleBigPlanet if they're creative, or Lego Star Wars: The complete saga if they're fans of legos, star wars or just a fun simple game.

External Hard drive for PS3??

My boyfriend hinted several months ago that he would like a hard drive for his PS3. But Im not a gamer or electronic freak like him (haha) so I have no idea what Im looking for. Any suggestions?
If I remember right, you can use pretty much any external hard drive with a USB port. Ask a Best Buy employee or game store employee to be sure though.

best multi co-op games for ps3?

My husband and I enjoy gaming together, but haven't found many good games since Project Eden. Are there co-op games for the PS3 to play at home, not online?
A lot, just depends on what you're interested in. Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Guitar Hero/Rock Band, any of the Lego games, Simpsons, Rayman: Raving Rabbids... there's tons. Just depends what you like.

Do I need two wheels to race with Mario Kart?

you don't even need one wheel. All you need is a Wii remote and hold it sideways. The wheel is just a plastic attachment to give you a more driving like feel.
