How does this work on carpeted stairs?

We are happy to informyou that vacuuming stairs is a very easy with the Shark® DuoClean® Powered Lift-Away Speed™ (NV801) Bagless Upright Vacuum. To vacuum stairs, we recommend putting the vacuum in Lift-Away mode. Once that is done, disconnect the handle from the wand and the wand from the floor nozzle. With this vacuum you can connect the handle directly to the floor nozzle to vacuum the stairs.

I love the vacuum, how do I shut off the brushes from spinning to use on the hardwood floor? I switched from hardwood when the brushes weren’t spinning, to carpet pushing the appropriate spot, now I want to switch back onto hardwood and shut them off.

The brushrolls on the Shark® DuoClean® Powered Lift-Away Speed™ (NV801) Bagless Upright Vacuum do not stop spinning when the handle is leaned back and the vacuum is powered on. I am confused about the three settings on this vacuum. I plan on using it on a 2" shag area rug. Can I use it in hardwood mode and still have enough suction to properly clean the carpet. I do not want that beater brush to damage my carpet.

We would like you to know that the brushrolls on the Shark® DuoClean® Powered Lift-Away Speed™ (NV801) Bagless Upright Vacuum do not stop spinning when you switch between the 3 flooring types. With this being said, it is best to use the Thick Carpet / Area Rug setting when vacuuming shag carpeting. We also recommend checking with the manufacturer of the area rug to determine if the NV801 is compatible.

besides the filters, the bottom part that comes off, the piece that the round and flat filter go in, is that piece washable? this actually were the blow-ewer fins are .

We would like you to know that the pre-motor (foam & felt) filters are washable. Rinse them thoroughly in lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Squeeze out excess water and let air-dry for at least 24 hours before replacing. Do not use soap or place them in the dishwasher or washing machine. We recommend wiping the area, where the filters go, out with a dry cloth.

I bought the Shark NV501 from Best Buy. On the website it shows pictures of accessories, 2 being the canister caddy & multi-angle dusting brush. When I got it home these items were not in the box. I drove all the way back and they said they were optional.
