What does vista compatible mean ?
Does it work w/ or w/o windows vista
If it has the Vista logo it has been certified Vista compatible....it works with Vista OS.

Iwant to transfer videos from my sony trv 408 camcorder to my toshiba lap top .with windows vista. my lap top does not have a fire wire port and i can not use the fire wire that was recommended bu the geek squad people at best buy in carmel in. What do I do now

Are there any flash memory camcorders that have bluetooth?
Looking to use a flash camcorder for video and would like to use a wireless microphone with the video. Are there anything on the market that would support this type of use?
Sony has several models of Camcorders that have Bluetooth, however this is primarily for image transfer to computers or print devices.

That is a somewhat hard question to answer. Most TOP rated cameras are rated in magazines by reader input. Each magazine or site leaning toward one brand or another. Overall it seems that
Canon, Nikon and Sony hold up well on the High end and Kodak, Samsung and Canon on the low end.
It is difficult to give specific models. This comes down to user preference. What feature one person may find important another doesn't.

Mini Dv tapes
I have mini Dv tapes and my camcorder is not working, is there something I can buy to play these tapes or I must buy a new mini camcorder. I like to buy a DVD camcorder but than I will not be able to viw my old tapes.
Unfortunately there is no adapter that will allow you to view miniDV tapes. The only way to play these is on a miniDV camcorder or deck.
You could see if there is a dubbing house in your area. These are places that can convert various types of media to another. Ask they Geek Squad at your nearest BestBuy if they know of a local dub house or call a local TV station and ask the production department if they know of one.

What caneras bring 3ccd?
3CCD is more commonly known as 3 chip, a broadcast term for a more professional quality image. With the new CMOS chips this term isn't as used as much as it used to. Some camcorders with 3 chips are:

With so many camcorders on the market the list could be long, but not all camcorders have this built in. To see if a camcorder you are interested in has BW ability look in the menu under Creative or Special Effects. There you will find either Sepia (old film looking effect) or Mono Chrome (no color=black and white).
Most video producers shoot in color and change to Black and White inside the editing program. This way you still preserve the original color video, recording in BW on the camera will be permanent.

What camera should I buy to take proffesional portraits indoors and outdoors
If portrait is all that you want to do for now you can start off with a good entry level D-SLR. Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Sony all have excellent starter D-SLR cameras under $650.
Later if you wish to do Sports or Event photography you could upgrade to a pro level camera.
A good portrait lens to look for is in the 35-105mm area. The faster lens you can get the better, a f/1.2 to f/1.7 will give you a nice soft depth of field. (see example photos)
Also look into a speed/zoom flash for fill lighting.
