A:
Usually in a Logitech wireless mouse it means that the battery is dying. So you might see it respond sometimes but as you move the mouse it flashes on and off. If its solid red this could also be the problem. Eventually with batteries that are dead you will not even get a light at all.I recommend you buying better batteries. I believe the product below would be the best to replace your bad battery issue.
I included a picture of the original mouse battery to one of my other new Logitech325 Mice.

The flashing red light means it's almost time to change the battery. The mouse has a sleep mode but you can extend the battery life by switching it off, using the slide bar underneath, when you turn your laptop off.by

It's only on momentarily, ie it is not constantly on. Additionally, after a period of inactivity, the mouse will go into standy mode. When it detects activity/movement, the green light will come on for a few seconds to show that it's on/active and then go out.9 years ago

Try new batteries first but it should stay on until you turn it off for the most part. At the very least up to 5 minutes without having to move it.If a new battery doesn't change it then I would return it.

Goes off in a few seconds. My mouse is a few years old, but the green light shows that it is connected and cursor responding. Green light goes off so battery isn't drained as quickly.Products from my answer

Mine stays green. The manual says the light will turn red or not glow at all if the battery needs to be replaced. So there isn't any information that a blinking green light means anything specific, which also suggests it's not normal.by

The green light should come on when you move the mouse slightly...That tells you the battery is good.
Then it should go off.
When the light comes on red, you know it is time to replace the battery.

Rest assured that your mouse is not defective, they all do that. The green light just simply let's you know that your batteries are still charged and it also let's you know that it is connected to the Unifying Receiver.by

The green light doesn't stay on, it does that to conserve battery power. When you've downloaded the software, you can program one of the buttons to show the battery level. Also, anytime it's been sitting long enough to go to sleep it will show the battery level when you wake it up. Of course like you said when you turn it off and turn it back on the light turns on to show you the battery level and then turns itself back off. The battery indicator ALSO works when you unplug it from the cord while it's on. I hope I'm clear enough to be understood in my answer :) Have fun!by

This shouldn't be an issue. You are plugging the USB wireless into your own computer, that should activate only your mouse. I've never seen a mouse work from 20 feet away no matter how sophisticated it is.by

The device is normally paired to the unified receiver so no need to worry about cross talk. I use multiple Logitech devices in the same office with unified receivers and none on them pick up what the other is doing (they are 4ft apart). Just as an FYI, there is a unified tool/software from Logitech (http://support.logitech.com/software/unifying) that helps you sync or pair your device with another receiver. It will also show the paired devices if you really want to see what device you USB receiver is set to use.by

It really makes no difference from my experience the receiver will work with either. However, I recommend you save your 3.0 port for devices such as 3.0 Hard Drives or the like because of increased data transfer speeds.by

Either one works fine. This device is not dependent on fast speeds, USB 3.0 ports are backwards compatible so you can use 2.0 devices in the 3.0 port only using 2.0 speeds due to the device not being 3.0Only benefit of a 3.0 is for an external hard drive as it will help with faster read/write speeds but mice and keyboards are not going to see a difference in speed.

This could be a driver issue. Either way, go to the Logitech website for support. Their support is great and if your hardware is faulty, they will replace it within warranty. Before you file a claim, look for your mouse's latest drivers and make sure they are up to date. If the problem persists, submit a claim through the site.

It sounds like it is having a hard time maintaining the connection to the receiver. Try having the receiver plugged in as close to the mouse as possible (I have a USB hub built in to my keyboard, which works perfectly). When I plug the receiver in to the back of the computer (less than 3 feet away), the connection becomes choppy and the pointer will skip around on the screen quite a bit.by

Logitech dongles have Unifying which allows up to 6 devices per dongle, I am not sure if the mouse dongles do this as well, but possibly your pc isn't reading the mouse dongle correctly and only seeing the other one?9 years, 5 months ago

Try loading the unified drivers and adding the mouse to it once you do. It's possible that the "affinity" got messed up, and it no longer recognizes the dongle.9 years, 5 months ago

Win 7 should provide the proper driver automatically when you attached the mouse's USB connector to the computer's USB port. Try and see if the USB port is working properly. Try to connect another USB device and see if it works. If the USB port doesn't work, try to connect the mouse, using another USB port and see if that fixes your problem. Don't be insulted, but make sure the mouse is turned on. The on/off switch can extend the life of the battery. Also, use the usb adapter that came with the mouse. There shouldn't be any drivers to d/l. Win 7 should initialize it immediately.by

Sounds like you need to exchange it. Windows 7 should automatically find the driver and set it up for you. Mine worked fine with Windows 7. Did you go to the Device Manager and see if it is showing there?by
