Hard drive manufacturers in the past, 10 years or so ago, had fairly long term warranties. In recent years, in Seagate's case, this went from 5 to 3, then to 2 years warranty. I'm afraid that 2 years is most likely what you'll get for a warranty, but the product may last longer depending on usage. I still have 1 hard drive that had a 5 years warranty, but it's still going strong at 8 years.
